why don't they have an option of death knight in wotr
They do. In fact, that's what I played. Cavalier on an skeleton horse, scythe for big crits and style, lich mystic path. Tons of other ways to do it too.

That's why you execute all the goody two shoes and replace them with loyal undead followers who are unable to say no, and more importantly they don't talk as much.

if you think it's bad from the player-perspective, i can promise you Unity is infinitely more painful from the developer side of things
oh you want this object to be illuminated by more than 12 lights? fuck you
you want cloth physics? yeah that's $30, fuck you

Unless you want a MegaLights scenario, I'd doubt your proficience as a developer if you would want an object to be illuminated by more than 12 dynamic light sources while working in Unity engine

Exactly this.

A good developer can achieve great things with any decent engine, Unity included.
A bad developer will achieve awful things with any decent engine, Unity included. So if you think you need that many dynamic lights affecting anything at the same time, congrats, you are part of the problem.

Unity is a relatively powerful engine.
Unfortunately, it is too easy to use, which lulls bad developers into thinking their code is decent and any issue they meet is an engine problem instead of their own fault.
All of that is of course exacerbated by its store, which leads to devs cobbling together different plugins in a way that is likely to result in issues.

Unreal makes it much more difficult to get started, which is actually a blessing in disguise.

I just find it so funny picturing a cavalier swearing up and down he is a real death knight, and to prove it, he shows off his skeleton horse

All unity games i've tried had that pastel indie vibe to them. Not sure if something in the engine just tends to render things that way but even PoE, a game that is supposed to be grim dark still has that Unity quality.

It's why for a time i was a supporter of the Unreal engine, since it seemed to yield a more realistic picture with better lighting etc.

That didn't last long as lately every UE i've seen is always blurry. Too much temporal anti-aliasing probably.

Also, while i don't play many modern gaymes i can already tell a lot of nu-games all end up looking the same because they all use the same engines.

Games only look the same if developers use a similar artstyle when creating assets, average gamedev (yet alone a mere stinky videogamer) won't be able to spot differences in rendering between multiple available engines
