I'm thinking it refers to the Italians.I'm assuming "offensive depictions of people and cultures" refers to the south-pacific tribe.

Looks like a newer-age SimAccording to early reviews all attention was directed at the base games, I'm guessing the early levels especially, and the expansions only got AI-upscaled textures and none of their unique 2D assets were updated into 3D.
These remasters have no future unless they are just as moddable as the classics.
And, this remaster collection should really be retitled as "Tomb Raider - He's Prettier Than She Is".
Also this "Pierre" got censored, as I expected. The pin-up on the back of his jacket is there, but it's wearing a bikini.
Go to: \Tomb Raider I-III Remastered\1\TEXT
Then select your language and in that folder you find the file: COMMON.TXT
Line 139 & 140
It seems to me that the textures of the original graphics in this remaster are worse than the originals.
I don't have the remasters, I'm basing this off of footage from reviews. It seems to me that the textures of the original graphics in this remaster are worse than the originals.
Well you have both the remasters and the original T3 installed, post some comparison screenshots.

So apparently Crystal Dynamics simply couldn't govern themselves and added a little bonus to these remasters, shown when you boot them:
I'm assuming "offensive depictions of people and cultures" refers to the south-pacific tribe. Firstly, this tribe is entirely realistic. Many such isolated and hostile peoples exist today. And secondly, they don't give a shit about how white devils depict them in their visual lore. Only western baizuo commies do. It has been known for a while that Crystal are about as woke as Netflix, and they absolutely loathe the original Tomb Raider franchise, especially its original incarnation of Lara.
The original Tomb Raider trilogy is good, yes. Great, in fact. Whether these remasters are worth it is another matter. Is this any good chaps? I'm starving, ravenous in fact, for decent games to play and sorely tempted to buy it.
I know... which is why I'm asking for people's opinions. The original Tomb Raider trilogy is good, yes. Great, in fact. Whether these remasters are worth it is another matter. Is this any good chaps? I'm starving, ravenous in fact, for decent games to play and sorely tempted to buy it.
The first previews are out. I honestly don't think these games needed remasters, they are still pretty good and I played 1-3 recently.

I haven't played through 3 fully yet, so probably the South Pacific islanders like already mentioned, but I haven't gotten to them yet. As for 1 and 2, I honestly have no idea. The Tibetan monks don't seem overly "offensive" to me (maybe it reminds some people of oonga boonga Africans with spears? That's a stretch, though) and it's not like Bartoli's minions in 2 are depicted as anything in terms of Italian stereotypes, they are just generic goons. I'm not overly sensitive to "problematic representation", but I can sniff it out when it's particularly egregious or noteworthy. Maybe Pierre as a French stereotype in 1? That's a Stretch Armstrong reach, but who knows.
Can you recall any examples of what the lunatics might consider racist depictions today?
Lara is in it for herself mostly, but that's what makes her fun. You can debate whether she's right to keep invaluable artifacts in her home instead of donating them to museums or scholarly research, I guess. She doesn't make money off of them, canon lore says she writes books of her adventures, so she's not a bounty hunter in that sense. They also probably don't trust people to realise that Lara is meant to be an amusingly aloof and uncaring anti-hero, and that you're not meant to necessarily approve of her treatment of archaeological sites and other cultures. Or that the games take place in a pulp-y heightened reality where everything's a bit ridiculous, hence Australian soldiers (with highly over-exaggerated accents) fighting velociraptors, and Lara gunning down half the population of Italy.
Can't be this, nobody gives a shit about whiteys.I Italian stereotypes .... French stereotype
She says in the very first cutscene of the first game something like, "Sorry, I only play for sport", when Natla offers her loads of cash to go to Peru. It defines her whole character because she puts herself in these wild situations for fun, not money.Lara is in it for herself mostly, but that's what makes her fun.
