Long story short I haven't played Minecraft since the Nether update in Alpha. I'm looking for a podcast game after getting tired of ETS2, and it seemed like a good candidate.

What are the mods this days to make the game fun and interesting? I'd like to focus on making the combat similar to that Cube World demo that was released ten lifetimes ago or anything of the sort. Something ARPG with at least a bit of difficulty, or maybe something pokemonish? I don't know. Just fun, and mindless, with a side of challenge that requires some focus but you can still have some video or podcast playing on the background.

It's shit now, don't even bother
It must have been good at some point. I've seen the Java version hasn't updated since 2017, which means it's mostly stable and must have thousands of mods. At least a couple must be decent, right?
