Yeah the TF2 people are already asking on the mount and blade forums about this free game that comes with their $15 hats! I'll probably pick up Warband or Vanilla -- I remember there was some debate about whether or not buying Vanilla was better because of some of the mods.
In my entirely professional opinion Warband beats out vanilla. Even with vanilla's mods, losing the improvements of Warband would chap my ass. Besides, there are good mods for Warband too. It's not like you'd be sacrificing ALL mods for going Warband.

I will not abide any asses being chapped!

Robin Walker, guy what works on TF2 at Valve, loved it. http://steamcommunity.com/id/robinwalker/recommended/

So I think the sucking-in was the other way around. And I doubt Spacechem dude would want to decline a TF2 tie-in since that means a bump in sales. I'm just hoping this means a deal coming up since I'd like to pick up Spacechem but I've been procrastinating at $15.

Looks like even the guy who did SpaceChem got sucked into the TF2 madness.

Well the game deserve that extra boost in sales that it will get.

It is a fun puzzle game.

Well, I'm not so sure the TF2 fans will like the free game that was bundled with their TF2 content, especially since they must solve a few puzzles before they can get it. Still in the grand scheme of things, more sales must be good I guess.

Oh, and MHC: buy it, faggot.

I'm tempted, but I'm also tempted by Capsized, Sol Survivor, Witcher 2 and Brink.

Tempted to pick up the indies since I'm usually a bit more relaxed on waiting for deals on them. Tempted by Witcher 2 since I love me some potato eating monster hunting titty squeezing action. And tempted by Brink for no particularly good reason (Other than I've got a coupon that would make it about $25).

Plus with the TF2 promotion I wouldn't be surprised if there's a sale, so I'm gonna wait a while longer and see if I can get it for $7.50 or something. :rpgcodex:

Brink is most probably going to be good since it's made by motherfucking Splash Damage...

... but on the flip side: It's being published by Bethesda. :/

I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Poor indie games, just good to be sold in promotions

Brink looks somewhat interesting but it appears to be designed on a much smaller scale than the two Enemy Teritory games, so meh. I'm betting on Section 8 Prejudice.

So, Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition (+Awakening & 9DLC) for 15 €.

Have not played it yet.
Hm, I'm very tempted right now...

why is the TF2 fanbase so fucking terrible?

On the other hand, it goes both ways - there was this M&B player who was mad that TF2fags would buy M&B and probably not even install it.

OH FUCK MY FAVORITE GAME IS SELLING WELL

INDIE CRED STATUS = BLOWN

Maaaaaaaaan. I'd be all over Section 8 Prejudice if not for GFWL. I find GFWL tolerable for singleplayer games, but it's fucking terrible in my experience for multiplayer.

I've been keeping an eye on Brink since it was announced. Still not sure what to think -- I've heard it might be riddled with microtransactions. Still, it uses Steamworks so I'm sure I can pick it up for $30 a couple of weeks after release at retail.

Regarding the EA Week sale I'm usually underwhelmed by the discounts. Only 50% off DA1 at this stage? After looking through the catalog only things I'm interested in are Mass Effect and Deathspank. If they drop to 75% I'll buy them.

Yeah, but it's 50% off on Ultimate Edition as well, which at least here sells for the same price as Origins, which is 15€ at 50%. Complete bundle for 15€ seems ok for me. I might buy it.

Thanks! Will pass, then. I'll have The Witcher 2, Blood Bowl, Avadon and New Vegas stuff occupy me till the Christmas Steam sale, I guess.

Hmm, I have DAO and the expansion but I haven't played any of the add-ons. Would you guys say that the content in those is worth 15€?

Well EA is not worthy to receive any cents, but look deep in your heart, you enjoyed DA2 , so you may need those pricey DLC, they are shit, the reviews are terrible, really terrible.

I know GFWL sucks but I still find it tolerable and I found that they kinda worked out the kinks over time. I'd still be happy to do without but for the price (which is even discounted now!) and the apparent quality of the game (if it's really the same with new stuff, then it's just fantastic), then I can look past it. Honestly I see a lot of people complaining that they won't buy S8P because of GFWL but I'd say try to look past it given the advantages of the game. Maybe the game will tank, which would be a shame for a multiplayer game that tries to get up to 32 people on a same server, but I'm willing to support it at that price. First game was a bit rough around the edges (including GFWL) but it had so many features that it was easy to forgive them.

Bottom-line: if S8P is anything like the first game but better, even marginally, and you like the concept of the two game modes, 32 players per game, highly customisable skills and loadout, and dropping from orbit anywhere on the map instead of simply respawning, then don't let GFWL stop you.

Anyway isn't the Ultimate version of DA:O missing some DLC?

Edit: nevermind, it looks like the missing stuff are just items for pre-order and other crap like that. Hardly a miss. I wonder if it won't be on sale again for summer, and cheaper.

Actually I think PC gaming master race version goes to 40.

DA:O complete at $20 is tempting because I'm an RPG packrat even though it pisses me off a bit. Only problem is I've grown to dislike Bioware even more recently, so I dunno. I SHOULDN'T buy it, but I can't say for certain I won't get struck by a moment of weakness late at night when I wish for a gay elf's warm embrace. :M
Hope for a sale on Risk Factions though. Tried the demo of that and enjoyed it. Also wouldn't mind a sale on Spore complete because I've always wanted that damn game, but I know how fucking terrible it is and I want it cheap as all hell since I'd only be playing it to fly around looking at multi-headed space dicks.

I know of Bioware's ongoing decline but at the same time I like bits of bad fantasy that takes itself way too seriously once in a while. Plus VD's review claims that it's a good game all things considered, and I know I'll play it one day so I don't mind paying for very cheap. The thing is that I got quite a few games to play yet (have to finish New Vegas and then replay The Witcher, then The Witcher 2 will be out for a while by then) so I do not mind waiting a bit longer and see a 75% discount on it instead of today's 50%. So I guess I'll pass today and wait for the summer sale, and if not later since I got a huge list of RPG to (re)play, and that's not counting some other games.

Oh and I thought I read 40 players somewhere but I wasn't sure. In any event, you know you want to support S8P. I also heard that the devs plan to add a lot of content after release, a large part of it free. I hope the paid content will be mostly cosmetic stuff and early unlocks, like the pre-order packs. Having people pay for map packs or other extra content is the best way to split your community and turn it against yourself, but non-gameplay related paid DLC is a way to allow people to support the developper and get a little something in return. Tripwire did that with Killing Floor and it seems to work well.
