Picked up Blood Bowl for $10 this weekend. Feel a bit :smug: since I've been eyeballing it for awhile now but knew it would go on sale for way less than $40. We may need a BB newbie thread though where I can curse the RNG.

I did the same...The game seems tough to figure out fully. I am just now building a team for online play and seeing how badly I can get destroyed.

Heh, GLaDOS is replacing the trader in Killing Floor right now.
Gotta say I'm really enjoying all this ARG nonsense. I'm not enough of a mighty nerd to do any of the actual investigating or solving, I just enjoy that Valve teamed up with all these indies to do silly shit on the runup to Portal. All the new content in the games is kinda impressive.

Plus I'm having fun trying to get potatoes when people figure out what you have to do. Getting my ass kicked trying to get a gold in this Audiosurf song. I'm at 14 potatoes so there's NO STOPPING ME NOW! (also secretly hope i get an additional tf2 hat for all this potatoing so i can sell even more hats, though even if i don't i'm enjoying myself anyway)

I only got one potato, for buying the potato in Killing Floor. Don't think I'll try to get more, and besides I do not have all the games that give one.

Oh and even better for Killing Floor: they added a new map based on Aperture Science. Pretty nice one too.

Borderlands GotY for $7.50 is pretty great. Played the hell out of that game, entertaining for some mindless loot whoring.

Even at $2.50 I'm still not sure about the Clap Trap DLC. I honestly never finished Knoxx and from what I hear Clap Trap is far shorter.

Users with potatoes are getting disappeared. ITZ COMING

I still haven't finished Claptrap yet, but Knoxx is/was pretty clearly the best one. Still, if you think you'll ever want to do more Borderlands in the future $2.50 isn't shabby if you want to make Master Chief proud and finish the fight.

Claptrap is more fun than Knoxx IMO. Knoxx was more challenging but was marred by having to go through that really annoying checkpoint on foot when crossing the highway into... forgot the name of the area. Oddly enough sometimes the roadblock wasn't there and I could just drive through, other times had to walk again.

Er, I'm kinda interested in Borderlands but …

GOTY, which includes the game and DLC is for 12.50€, but the game (4.99€) + DLC pack (5.99€) is for 10.98€. Am I missing something or is the GOTY somewhat stupidly more expensive than base game + DLC? Only other value I can see mentionned with the GOTY is a key to the exclusive Duke Nukem First Access Club, and I seriously doubt that it includes strippers.

No it's just messed up Euro pricing. In the U.S. it is cheaper to buy the GOTY, dollars-wise. Also I believe the first access club for Duke Nuke'em expired the other day.

Haha, ok. I'll probably pick up the thing separately then. Thanks. Will probably beg codexers to play with me later (as well as L4D2, Killing Floor, Alien Swarm (Steam version of course) and maybe Monday Night Combat).

Up to 22 Steam potato. Curious what the potatoes will turn into/impact, if anything. Also hoping like hell the rumors that Portal 2 might get released on Friday are true because god damn. GOD DAMN.

Wait so the only 'reward' for the potato ARG nonsense is the ability to play Portal 2 earlier? Glad I didn't spend time on it then~

And, big surprise, Civ 5 on sale today for a whopping 40% off. Even at 75% off I wonder if I'd even bother getting it. Every serious review I've seen says it is arguably worse than the predecessors and was just made to nickel and dime people with DLC.

Dear Christ. On a whim I wandered into the hat trading forum only to discover THERE IS A GUY SELLING HIS SERVICES TO GET YOU POTATOES. He's charging Paypal or TF2 hats (Which are as good as cash, obviously) for you to give him access to your account so he can unlock your potatoes.

My mind is blown. Hats were one thing, this is taking it to a new level. And people are hiring him.

Wow, account security failure, much?

Then again, this whole thing is a monumental failure. And yeah, what do potatoes do? Do you use them as a virtual sodomy device?

They supposedly speed up http://aperturescience.com/glados@home/ which moved fuck-all anyway so we're not getting the game much ahead of schedule. Plus Valve has said there will be "A very special non-hat-based reward" for having all the potatoes. I'm gonna guess a new co-op skin for Portal 2.

The prize for 36 potatoes was Valve Complete Pack apparently. Only problem being, I already owned everything Valve has done except for CS:CZ. So I got the stand-alone HL1 engine CS spinoff for free. Oh well.

Also got access to Portal 2 like an hour earlier.
