Hey smart guy, if I was truly a shill I wouldn't be endorsing people to pirate the fucking game now would I? Run that through your brain when you've calmed down a bit.

You're either a shill or a cretin because this game uses Denuvo. By the time we can pirate it this thread will be buried and forgotten.

I'm a cretin? For talking sense? Mother fucker, you're just another random asshole spewing shit about a game he's never played. I've played through the whole thing, I have a frame of reference. You have some stream you watched, therefore you have jackshit.

You have shit taste and thus a complete irrelevant opinion. You somehow think playing this derivative piece of shit will give me some revelation and show something than a 10 hour stream didn't.

Classic sub-human "you can't say shit tastes bad until you eat it".

Do you naturally need/want to double jump and mantle as much in the arena fights as the better videos of it make it seem or is it just people doing it for no reason? If it's just for "secrets" that's kinda boring, but if it's legit useful that's cool.

Lol, now you're throwing out words like "sub-human". You really are a mad little nerd.

Yeah, that's actually a natural mechanic that fits the gameplay well. Not as cool as bunny hopping (which needs perfect timing and isn't every effective in this game) or rocket jumping would have been, but it gets the job done and doesn't feel out of place at all, really.

Now the health piniata is not to everyone's taste. But people forget the obvious, it's not a cover based shooter. This is HUGE.
A new generation of chucklefucks will discover how awesome it is to not fucking hump a wall and have a true arsenal at their disposal. We might have a chance of progress in the FPS genre instead of the endless stagnation.
It is without a doubt an improvement over sitting behind a box waiting to heal, but it still shares the same issue of all but eliminating resource management when it comes to health mechanics. It makes things easy if you're looking to make a checkpoint-based shooter, I guess, but it's hardly ideal if you want to make large, open-ended levels where scavenging for supplies is actually a thing. It's just another area where D44M pretty much ends up being a lukewarm compromise between the old and the new.

Good to see that his career in shitposting is working quite well for Notch.
You'd be suprised how many people got their start thanks to 4chan, this guy is no exception.

Why are there so many of my country here?

At least with all those collectables you have a reason to not make levels complete shit. Even if its giving in to the progression bullshit.

I always imagine console players as my half retarded brother. Adding resource management might blow their brains too much. They might not be able to handle the intensity as it is.
I will take what I can get. At least I can have fun again.

I can see a greater probability for a nuQuake turning out better than d44m. Level design is objectively the biggest issue here. The other elements like visuals, sounds, and "gamefeelz" are more than likely not gonna stack up to the classics judging by D44M. Someone with the older design sensibilities needs to be put in Lead Design.

I finished the campaign yesterday and I have to say, meh ending. Obviously Bethesda couldn't go without setting up a cliffhanger.

Overall it's amazing that I could actually bring myself to finish it. Nowadays I tend to play shooters for an hour or two before losing all interest. With the exception of the spider boss at the end, some of the boss fights were actually not half bad. The hellguards fight(s) should have been the endgame boss. The first hellguard actually gave me a tough time at one point because it almost never drops health and when it does it's like 20 - 30HP max. I can imagine it getting quite frustrating on Nightmare mode.

Been playing this over the past week and am quite near the end I think (just recently got the BFG). Overall I've been pleasantly surprised that it isn't awful: it's Good For What It Is (TM), and certainly an improvement over pretty much any AAA shooter of the last 10 years, however it isn't Doom. The encounters, with few exceptions, are simply too small in numbers when compared to the original games. To compensate for this they made the enemies way more bullet spongy (worst example being the Pinkies; those fuckers are ridiculous now). Also the gore nest grinding mechanic gets really old fast, and most of the upgrades feel unnecessary.

The gameplay is refreshingly fast and smooth with K&M tho; I will never for the life of me fathom why those early videos were demoed at glacial pace on a controller (I guess so as not to scare off the console kiddies?).

The weapons are a mixed bag. Pistol is OK for the zombies and imps but not much else. Shotgun is decent early on but rapidly becomes extraneous. Super shotgun is better and remains useful throughout. Plasma gun and chaingun are terrible, especially the latter as it just chews through ammo that is much more effectively used with the assault rifle, which is excellent (especially with the scoped upgrades). Rocket launcher is OK but feels underpowered compared with the original. The railgun gauss cannon is awesome. The chainsaw is nice, but again feels overpowered as it can instakill anything besides bosses. Also you're almost forced to use it at times for the ammo pinata effect. BFG is as you would expect.

Overall it's helped pass the time, but it's getting tedious now and I just want to finish it.

Those boss fights were just retardo. Looks like something out of devil may cry or something with the attack patterns and different phases.

And the earthworm jim twins oughta be the least fitting monster design for a doom game ever.
