So very true. When making games set in "exotic locales", they seem to never account for the bullshit the natives of those places can call on.
One of the best is the movie "The Rundown", with Dwayne Johnson. The movie is set on the north of Brazil, but the movie crew was robbed when they came to film here, so they gave up and decided to shot the movie in Hawaii instead, and teach portuguese to the locals!

Fast and Furious 5 is also great, with non-existant high-speed trains and huge deserts in Rio de Janeiro. And of course, Indiana Jones 4, when Indy is on a boat in Amazonas river (in north Brazil) and falls on the Iguaçu Falls (in south Brazil).

Seriously, I'm usually not very paranoid about this kind of thing but certain accents(or lack thereof :obviously:) and slang are completely fucking ignored, while what I presume is artificial slang is almost promoted by our media, it's very revolting for me, comes very close to my view of the :decline:, if it was personified COME ON OLAVO DE C ARVALHO WAS WHINING ABOUT IT... BELIEVE ME and regardless of how true they are to how people actually speak down there, it still feels like they're trying to force shit down people's throats, massive misrepresentation

also they spread disinformation about northeastern culture/accent and southern people's have a higher tendency to sound like faggots, that is when they're not already from a state with faggier accent/slang hopefully they'll have cangaceiros and indios in the favelas, you know, in order to better represent the minorities

edit: also rich soccer players and musicians(specifically pagodeiros and funkeiros) for historical accuracy

On this I agree, fucking Globo wants everyone talking like a faggy carioca. The new bullshit is the local soccer championships: "We will only air games on important states, shitty ones will just watch the Rio games." :decline:

Loss of the subscription cancellation button isn't a bug, its a feature. You wouldn't want unsuspecting TOR players accidentally unsubscribing themselves and ending their gameplay experience for several hours (more than enough for them to forget what they were doing and be forced to start over), would you?

To cancel you must call the Bioware service hotline in India, staffed by one man from the hours of 5-8 Indian time who only half speaks English. You must answer the following questions: Are you sure you want to cancel your subscription? Are you sure you are sure you want to cancel your subscription? Are you not sure that you don't want to keep your subscription? Are you sure you are sure that you are not sure that you don't want to not cancel your subscription? If at any point you decide that you would like to continue your subscription, your call will be swiftly disconnected and you will be charged $5.99 for your call.

That frame is from the motherfucking trailer man! They turned my beatiful beloved São Paulo into Rio de Janeiro! There are boats, favelas on hills, and fucking coconuts! I guess they where trying to be hipsters and Rio was just to pop, so they just tought that São Paulo was the same thing and renamed the city.

Even more ridiculous, there is a frame-by-frame analysis were IGN is paid to say notices that Max's gun is a Taurus, and say "the level of research and details in this in amazing!".
:mob:
someone please bash this shit with me
I'll brofist and bash it with you BRO.

The debut trailer was released on September 14, 2011. Responding to criticism regarding the decision to abandon the New York/Night theme of the previous games in the series, the writer for the series,Sam Lake, responded by commenting that the game would "maintain its dark and gritty origins" and that fans of the series would be "in for a surprise."[24] Remedy boss Oskari Hakkinen praised Rockstar's take on the series, and said Max Payne 3 looks "brilliant".[25]
Rockstar conducted research to ensure that the vibe, culture, police, weapons and every element of São Paulo, Brazil is as authentic as possible. The research team visited São Paulo several times, and the lengths the team went to in researching the local gangs, police and special forces, including each group's choice of equipment and firearms.[26]

The writer for this is the guy who did RDR. It may or may not be true to the originals, but the writing probably won't suck.

I'm actually a little less butthurt. sounds like Brazil more or less is in the background, the repeated usage of the expression "filha da putaaa" was surprising, though they did the fallacious "this is all in-game footage thing" and that last guy falling didn't look realistic

WHO THE FUCK AM I KIDDING THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE MY DEATH, FUCK MAX PAYNE

And this here 'the city that makes you fear'. Actually, Rockstar did screw it already if they don't catch that feeling.
