It's a real shame really. Looking at the reviews the visuals look fantastic. Would have loved to explore the world, like I did in the first game. But man, this awful story and the butchering of the characters. It's like having steak with the side dish of poop.

I can see Abby wanting to get revenge on Joel all these years later, but why would anyone on her group want to help her? They aren't Fireflies afaik and Joel's the brother of the leader of a small town. There's no reason anybody would support Abby's revenge quest other than finding Ellie and they don't give a shit about her. Even if they are fireflies it still wouldn't make too much sense since canonically Joel ever killed two of them in the first game, the surgeon and Ellie's mom friend.

Nobody from their city cared about their deaths except Ellie which then goes for revenge alone.

I'm not say that this is an example of the writers double standards but it's is.

Why is it that these virtue signalling games are almost always bad? Gameplay is bad and repetitive, story is just lolbad. Clearly they did not do this in hindsight to try to sell more games as the game is drenched in that SJW stuff. You would think that if you want to create propaganda you would make it at least a good game that is addictive and that people really want to play?

Im waiting for the wave of games that specifically do not cater to this (aka go back to how it was years ago) and just focus on an immersive interesting game world.

Although the edgy anti SJW movies and games can probably be just as annoying.

Maybe it is no coincidence that the only game I really want to upgrade my PC for at the moment is Escape from Tarkov, which specifically do not cater to virtue signalling crowd.

Because people with actual talent make good games.

PC diversity hires as a rule ARE NOT particularly talented. They got their jobs by dying their hair blue and regurgitating the crap their professor fed them in college. They were hired for their politics, NOT their talent.

When you hire people based on their politics, they consider their politics to be THE MOST IMPORTANT thing they do.

Making money is a SECONDARY GOAL to diversity hires. Their PRIMARY GOAL is to push their SJW politics, and they don't care if the company they work for loses money as a result.

Reading "emotional" responses to themes that TLoU2 is clearly clumsily tackling reminds me of that one blog post Simon Pegg once wrote about nerd culture being childish. Worse part is the factually wrong statement about every game nowadays being a John Wick movie. We've always known these people lived in a sort of bubble, but you'd think people who dedicate themselves to writing about this medium would expand and broaden their horizons beyond what gets the most marketing.
