These are awesome - I'm using the fixpack, UB and widescreen mod in my current IWD campaign and it's going well thus far.
I did happen upon what seems to be a bug, though - any chance someone who is also currently playing can confirm this? Namely, the Lucky Scimitar (sold by Conlan in Kuldahar) doesn't seem to be working properly. For me, it just adds the Luck icon to the character portrait, but the character using it doesn't actually gain the THAC0 bonus nor the saving throw bonuses that one should gain from the Luck spell. According to the patch notes, this should have been fixed in 1.41 (the GOG version I'm using is 1.42 apparently). Could this be a cock-up in the GOG version or did I mess something up while modding?
Removing the mods didn't seem to work. Normally I wouldn't care about a single item, but one of my dudes is a Fighter/Druid and there seems to be a real dearth of good magical scimitars early in the game. I think I'm gonna try to fix it myself - should be pretty doable if the game is as easily moddable as it seems to be.And I don't know, it's possible that the fixpack is buggy. The Icewind Dale series hasn't gotten as much loving modder attention as Baldur's Gate. Try removing it (and UB as well, to be safe) and see if it makes a difference?

Looks horrible. :/ I dont know why people want to play these games in sich large resolutions, 800x600 or 1024x768, everything looks so tiny on larger ones and the Ui gets fucked up. :/
I suppose it could - but the actual Luck spell (the effects of which the scimitar is supposed to imitate) does update the numbers on my char screen, so I figured the weapon would do the same. I think I can test that by analyzing some to-hit rolls.OK. Are you sure the numbers in your char screen are even supposed to update, though? It could be a behind-the-scenes thing.

Yeah, do you ever roll a 1? Which shouldn't happen when under luck.I suppose it could - but the actual Luck spell (the effects of which the scimitar is supposed to imitate) does update the numbers on my char screen, so I figured the weapon would do the same. what happens when you reactivate? you suddenly become a juggernaut of death and destruction?Yeah, do you ever roll a 1? Dual-class fighter->druid using a composite bow is better anyway, you can become a level 12 fighter at 1.25 mil XP iirc and to get to druid 13 you only need 750K, so you reactivate very quickly by that point in the game.
I don't think a Druid (Fighter dual or not) can use bows due to religious restrictions, much like a to-Cleric dual can only use Cleric weapons, at least without rule-changing mods. I'm going to double-check to be sure, though - if you're right then I fucked up my Druid and I'm going to resort to self-harm because rolling up a decent set of stats for that dude was an absolute bitch.Dual-class fighter->druid using a composite bow is better anyway, you can become a level 12 fighter at 1.25 mil XP iirc and to get to druid 13 you only need 750K, so you reactivate very quickly by that point in the game.
i always play old game in 800x600, bigger resolution is just wrong, feels like cheating you can see too much ground not to mention i don`t like to control ants on screen, i wan`t to see what is going on the battlefield.
There are font mods for a lot of the Infinity Engine games that make them far easier to read.Man dunno why you guys like to play the games with such huge resolutions, here the letters get so small, I think it's worse...

But remember that monitors have also gotten larger since the late 90's.
I play in 1280x800 personally.

Well, that sucks. Perhaps you should install the mod, whatever it was, the tweakpack perhaps? Also confirming this - my Druid can't use bows even after reaching a higher level than his original class (Fighter). He can use metal armors, though, so this might be an oversight/inconsistency on the part of the developers.
