By the way, the curse is the best hacker or hacker hunter there is. Just a nasty bastard of a ship.

No, level 1 rockets are perfect, because you require no weapons. You just need a point, a web, a MWD, and a buddy (or an alt... is multiboxing still allowed?) waiting way off-grid in whatever Minmatar alpha fit is in vogue this decade to warp in and do the actual exploding. Even I wouldn't bother to d-scan for ambushers around every site in that situation, because tedium is a real price that one must pay, so I'd probably get blown up.

You do need to have those RPG stats trained in EVE in order to get up to the good mischief, though, which frankly is a shame and a downside, because it means that player skill, experience, and balls unfortunately aren't purely the only determining factors. Typically someone very experienced will already have such a pilot to reup, or be able to RMT (but via ISK/assets) the pilot some way or another, call in favors, leverage connections to a wealthy corp/aliance, etc., but in theory you could be away for years, lose track of all your shit, then have to start over sort-of from scratch.

It's one thing to start with 0 ISK, 0 ships and mods, and 0 current social connections, I'd be willing to do that (in theory), but the fucking pilots and gorillion SP... that would be a hard loss. Although I imagine it's 10x easier to train skills nowadays, especially as learning skills have been removed (I retired well before that happened).

yeaaaa I really should just make a second character to come in and shoot, it's definitely not optimal to have just one trying to do everything, but I figured it would be good enough to handle a solo explorer that probably doesn't have much in terms of combat strength. I'm not really a fan of multiboxing but it def wouldn't hurt to have a second character trained to do some support stuff. I remember back in the day everyone had like 5 accounts and now it's even easier to set something like that up

I have 1 account and 1 spreadsheet and that's how it's done best. :smug:

Bro, you have 6 accounts, learn how to bookmark your routes already so you can insta-warp away on jumpthrough.
Make a couple of marks to each gate about 200 km for faster warp and to random spots (not planets! - mark them mid-jump) where you can hide or rewarp if they decide to scan you out.

Threre's no reason for you to loose frigs, unless they bubble-camp gates.
And even then you can run a covert scout and save your eggs.

Oh, and never fucking ever give feedback in local, we - the pirates - feed on it.

mark them mid-jump
i thought this had been removed at least a decade ago.

Could be, I stopped playing EVE about that time ago.
I'm pretty sure you can still make custom bookmarks even if it would take more efforts.
If you just warp to "the nearest planet at 300" there a big chance they are already waiting for you there, at least warp to random moons.
And you can trust any pirate ceptor worth his salt to have fully mapped and marked all gates on his hunting route.

Bookmarking is still a thing. Deep safes are not. But you can still make a non-aligned bookmark (one that's not on a direct line between two warpable celestials). So when you make your safe spots, you should make them non-aligned.

What do you mean "must"? List it in an NPC station, if it's not complete trash it will sell. If it's complete trash, then it's not worth taking :D. Did you join a corp yet? Mates would help.

you really think it's a good idea to join a corp as a new member and say "hey guys :) I need to haul 2 bill of stuff thru low sec can anyone help :)"

Do that, then inform a rival corp that there's going to be a big haul. Play them off against one another. It is the EVE way.

No, you should be in a corp already and have a bunch of ebil pirate mates. Or you could contract your stuff to me, and I'll help you ferry it, nudge nudge wink wink.

Don't fall into a trap of flying expensive ships. Most of the time I flown cheap crap that I could replace by the dozens. The cool and expensive ships are for good small gang fights. Oh those lovely mach fleets, or t3/blops drop...

but there's no thrill in flying around a ship that I can afford thousands of
putting my entire net worth into a blinged out ship and flying it around lowsec makes the game exciting

MAYBE though when I finally get to testing out 6-account-multibox pvp I'll fly each character in cheap ships just for practice purposes

Just realized how terrible at combat most people are. Eve is basically free if you just do the daily challenge with mere T4 filaments, plus selling some skill points and buying omega time in bulk. With T5, still not the hardest, you're solidly and consistently in the black even if you don't make anything anywhere else. And if you always fly the blingwagon in the abyss, it makes flying cheap stuff otherwise feel more novel. :)

I did a lot of Abbyss when it just came out. It's very profitable cancer. All instanced bullshit should disappear from Eve.
