Too bad i'll never play BB. Fucking Sony.
I wouldn't be surprised if Bloodborne saw a PC release in the next five years or so if Sony wants to remain relevant.

I honestly tried to cope with the visual changes of the Remastered version, but I just can't. The lighting is completely broken and it looks like an absolute dogshit. Even 60fps aren't worth it.

The worst part for me is the bonfire. The original is so iconic, that unaturally slow undulating tongue of flame. New one: "we just used the fire effect we use for everything else, what do you mean?"

I could (and have) complained about the lighting, or the loss of the depth of field which effect, while almost certainly a performance feature also gave the original version's environments a painting-like look. But it's the bonfire change that illustrates to me they didn't care about preserving the original aesthetic vision.

Actually armor was my biggest issue, so I'll check that out. I don't think it will fix it entirely since the issue is also in the new lighting, but it's better than nothing.

I got used to it. Did have to download "Classic Armor Pack" because couldn't bear Remastered armor textures. That was the biggest offender to me. Also using an upscaled texture pack to further improve the look. I wish there was a mod to bring back original lighting though, hopefully sometime in the future.

Can you instal those toghether?

Also. any mods that restore lighting AND a mod that restores the bonfire?

Just tried to install them both and there's conflicting files. So i'm guessing it is either one or the other.

Just install Classic Armor Pack after upscaled textures and it will be fine. Upscale pack also upscales armor textures hence the conflicting files. Of course it upscales the crappy Remastered armors so classic armors still look better.

Any other mod that i can use that won't get me banned?

I also installed a mod that makes faces a bit better, and one that makes the water a bit more natural. Not sure what else is there.

If you get banned is it going to be only on that character or does it affect your entire account?

I have a guy in NG++ that i'm using to get the Dark Souls achievement, and is well past the PvP range. I can use that to test to see what happens with those four mods.

No idea, never got banned yet. Texture mods for DSR are the only mods I ever used for any DS game. Just remembered I also had Bloodborne style lock-on installed on last playthrough. Same dot lock on that DSIII and Sekiro uses. Small change but much preferable to that big ugly vanilla circle in my opinion.

It's not insta-ban anyway. I played through Daughters of Ash for a while (stopped because it was a terrible experience) and didn't get banned. Maybe it help if you play offline etc.?

If you only play offline you shouldn't have any problem. I played DS1 and 3 offline with mods for hundreds of hours and I've never been banned.

RIP. That's fucked. He won't finish the thing, too... although I somehow think it's fine that Berserk's story is unfinished. I feel like he said what he had to say. I also doubt he would have had the strength to make it end how it should have ended : horribly and tragically. The story was getting softer and softer. It came out of the nightmare into a kind of dream. Which was fine, but really, his heart wouldn't have endured putting Guts through a second Eclipse and have all his new friends die. And I'm not sure if we needed to see this. At any rate, the fight agaisnt all odds continues ; this is what Berserk was truly about. One man rising to power, another saying "No".

Well, screw it, got the Dark Souls achievement but i didn't progress further as i wasn't feeling it. This is the third run with the same build and NG++ doesn't feel any harder than NG+. Too much of a deja vu feeling.

I just reverted to my backup with this character at the start of NG++ and i think i'll just park him there for good and move on different characters and different builds.

I also had a SL1 run going i had to cut short because of real life aggro, and i erased that character too and i'll try again another time, this time making sure to finish it before stopping as i get no connection to the game if i stop playing in the middle of a run.

So now i'm free to do whatever. I think i'll try an Artorias build. Seems like an interesting challenge. Takes at least an NG+ run but with the DLC weapons you can basically start to cosplay him even on normal game.

Well, i'll be dammed, the texture mod slows down the game, mostly when i do backstabs or pvp with more than one person.

I doubt it's my 5700 XT i think it's probably my Ryzen 2600. Could test for GPU usage but i think for now i'll just use the classic armor mod and leave it at that.

Try a no-death run without exploits. It's the best way to REALLY master one of these games before saying goodbye and moving on to something else.

I can try that but i think i have a better challenge yet, SL1 NG+.

I opted for another SL1 attempt, which i'll make sure to finish this time, but i think an SL1 NG+ run is going to be even more interesting as that is essentially a no hit run.

Nevermind, slow downs happen even without the mod. Usually when the rumble on the controller start. I think something is broken.

Pretty sure (although unconfirmed) Miura's creative team will finish Berserk based on notes.

It hasn't been confirmed yet because saying you are going to finish a respected author's magnum opus an hour after he died is disrespectful, commercialist, and tasteless.

Anyway, the likely ending points of the series are:

(a) Casca dies or transcends to a higher state of existence

(b) Guts will be driven into a rage by the loss of Casca and tempted to sacrifice his new adventuring party to the McGuffin Beherit he's been carrying around so he can gain the power to beat Griffith, but will resist the temptation

(b) Guts beats Griffith by making Griffith (otherwise all-powerful and unbeatable) doubt that he made the existentially correct choice (by going along with destiny instead of fighting it or by not valuing the things that should have mattered). This doubt or regret will make Griffith vulnerable.

(d) the idea of Evil will survive the death of Griffith and the rest of the Godhand. It will continue perpetuating it's eternity war against humanity. Meanwhile, Guts will continue living his life purposefully as a fighting traveler, as the new world will still be full of demons.
