Divinity: Original Sin Wasteland 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
By all means, ask whatever you want.

I was watching the video. The lag didn't seem that horrible compared to the Xbawks. I know it's PC and all but is it that much of a deal breaker for you?

The thing is that they tested it in a top of the line nvidia card (gtx 6xx series), so imagine what the performance would be on mid-range cards. And it's not necessarily a deal breaker for me, but it just pisses me off that the devs have no intention in taking advantage of superior hardware to at least try to optimize the game. They should have had the port outsourced to an experienced and competent dev house.

Anyone who really cares about games has a PC & a console or two anyway.

Anyone who cares about games won't waste his money on platforms that aren't suitable for gaming. :smug:

Also, it was Namco EU employee who suggested starting the petition.

Spin it as you wish.

This is what we (or whoever cares, I don't) should be raging about, really. Either Namco or From Software decided that they could make more money by doing the port themselves (instead of, say, leaving FS to focus on creating more content and possibly fix the horribad FPS issue in Blighttown).

But this is a business and I get that. Of course, this is also Ragedex and so let the anger flow.

Namco are money-grubbing bastards and PCs aren't suitable for gaming?

Port sounds pretty shitty, which is annoying because a good port would shut up a bunch of the PCTARDED types, but sadly the Japanese don't seem to give two shits about the PC as a platform save for the umpteenth magical lolis bullet-hell, more hentai games, and pigeon dating sims. I guess that may be why mainstream Japanese devs are adverse to PC development given what titles occupy it's catalogue in the land of the rising sun.

Poor performance doesn't even seem the worst part, I'm mostly bothered by the part that core mechanics and controls aren't being changed. A lot of good would be done if you could have more than two weapons/catalysts to switch on the fly in each hand slot; something difficult to do with the limitations of a gamepad, but quite easy given a PC. And I really think they could have made all enemies much harder to pull one-by-one. The more challenging fights are when you're forced to take on multiple foes, especially mixed fights (shoggoths and darkwraiths, summoners and crystal warriors, etc). Sad to see the port turning out to be a hackjob/cashgrab, but I'm not terribly surprised. My advice for people looking for a slew of good action RPGs is to pick up a FAGBOX or GAYSTATION on the cheap, or wait for passable emulation, because PC is just Diablolikes and if you're lucky a decent game like Gothic/Risen once in a blue moon. Bleh.

PS: Really need to get something to cure my cranial dysfunction so I can actually write a cogent review of this game. Drafts have been BSB, SPS, 120, 'tarded, killselfyouilliteratefaggot, etc.

I think their disinterest is partially due to previous failures and not understanding the platform. Look at Sony, one of the most respectable Japanese companies. How many boondoggles and screwups did SOE deliver? Post-Verant EQ, EQ2, Star Wars Galaxies, Matrix Online, the list goes on.

Why are some of you complaining about the lag?

Yeah, Blight town is crappy and there are hiccups here and there, but it honestly isn't that bad.

But PC games never lag anywhere ever! They're fucking flawless.

Using Diablo III to argue a shit port makes no difference is like using Atari's E.T. to argue the superiority of PC over consoles

Besides, there is not much difference between the average Blizztard and the consoletard. They are very similar audiences of sheeple easily brought in money-grubbing schemes like LIVE! accounts and other idiocies.

No. I believe the real reason is simply the distribution of manpower. The people they have available to be apportioned to those kinds of changes are working on another game (DS3?). The ones working on the port are the skeleton crew that isn't needed at the moment for their next game. In the meantime, the port is free money (and practice for future ports).

I just don't think a game company is going to release a game that struggles on the 600 series Nvidia cards. It would be very dumb. They will have to optimize it if that's the case.

I'd rather wait until the game is released and see it for myself than be all doom and gloom about it and expect the worse. Some people sound like they want this shit to be bad, because this use to be console exclusive and a bunch of people were shitting on it because it was consoletard game. Now they can't say that and can't get past their initial contempt for the game.

Funny thing is some people liked Witcher 2, but that was just a console game that was released on the PC first. It even ripped its combat model from a "console" game and made it worse.

Codex's extreme and absolute butthurt over gamepads is truly an element of decline here. Each type of game has a method of input that's preferable. I see that the topic about Commodore/Amiga is generally liked here. If you played games for the Amiga that were designed for that computer, then you mainly used a joystick, not M+K. And if you played something like Sensible soccer and tried playing it on anything else other than a classic joystick later on (be it a keyboard, gamepad or anything else), you should have realized there's only one way to play it properly. If you played Super Meatboy on keyboard and then on a good gamepad, you know the difference. PES/FIFA also. If you're not hardcore about racing games and don't use wheels/whatnot, you know a gamepad is superior to M+K.

Basically, the claim that gamepads are evil completely depends on an implied claim that any games other than oldschool RPGs, strategies, point'n'click adventures and FPSs are shit, and that's a completely retarded claim.

It seems to me that people are forgetting this is a game that runs on 6/7 years old hardware. Saying this is unoptimized at this point is an insult even to Bethesda.

This game runs on the Phyre Engine right? There's also a PC SKU. Why don't they just compile all the source files of those? I can't imagine you need a GTX 600 series and still have framerate issues, unless they had a Debug-Build and showed it at E3. In that case, they're even more fucking stupid than I previously thought.

That's fucking brilliant! I can't believe they didn't think of that. You should apply for a job at From Software.

Nobody here disputes the fact that plataformers, casual sports games, racing/flying games are best enjoyed with a pad/stick (except maybe Excidium :M). But a 3rd person RPG? GTFO.

Well, currently I'm playing Skyrim in 3rd person on 360 gamepad. I also preferred dead space and Mass effect on gamepad. None of these (including Dark souls) is an RPG and all of them work well with a gamepad.
