Suspicious Codex establishment behavior

Should Codex Editors post a news article about Drova: Forsaken Kin?

  • Yes, it is an outrage that such a high quality game is ignored by these pseudo RPG aficionados!

  • No, I spit on Drova's Foreskin, because I can only play turn based games!

  • Crispy should be tarred and feathered for this atrocity!

  • Yes, it IS an outrage, AND Crispy should be tarred and feathered as well!

  • Bulgaria was never a world power!

  • Actually, I can't stand pixel art games, even RPGs, no matter how good they might be (kc)

Now, in the last several years, we've all seen the governments of the West shit the bed, whether we are talking about Covid, woke shit, Trump, Twitter, etc. There was constant lying, cover ups, cancelling of dissenting voices, and just rabid propaganda. Now before all the usual suspects (vatniks, idiots from third world shitholes, conspiracy nuts on Adderal) pipe up, stfu, your favorite countries were like this by default, so no one cares. But for us, it was a big deal.

Being exposed to these strange establishment shenanigans recently, we've all (hopefully) developed a knack for spotting such sus (as the kids say now) behavior. So it struck me as rather strange when none of the Codex editor squad (Infinitron Saint_Proverbius Darth Roxor Roguey Crispy) posted a news article on the front page about the recently released Drova: Forsaken Kin. Keep in mind, these people routinely post news articles about games with 1960's era graphics with a target audience somewhere between 2 and 4 people, and which can only be enjoyed after half a bottle of whiskey (and sometimes not even then).

Meanwhile, here is this game, Drova Foreskin, which enjoys and Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam (96%), very high scores on Metacritic (for a game where no Doritos or Blowjobs with Purple Haired Manatees were exchanged). It has a rather lengthy thread here on the Codex, which again, overwhelmingly positive opinions, and the vast majority of people comparing it to early Gothics, which are Codex darlings on the average.

I say, boys, this is all rather suspicious! I don't know what is happening, or why, but I decided to gauge the level of outrage over this oversight. So vote in the poll, and let your opinion be known.

I don't post news but I'm not too broken up about German propaganda not getting a news thread.

Years from now, this will be looked at the same way as Crispy's Physical Form not posting a news article about Fallout 1 coming out back in 1997.

The Kodex Kurator Krew recommends it on steam

"A tremendous achievement. While there's other games that have captured Gothic's spirit for a couple of moments, Drova is the only one that managed to keep this spirit alive for the entire experience."

and links to this post, at least
It's only there cause of another Site Feedback thread where pepe came in and added a whole bunch of games, literally resurrecting something left for dead by infinikike. He added Drova when I told him to. Within a day. Something the kike and others would never do, no matter how many people brought their attention to Drova.

The post here remains relevant.

Bulgaria was never a world power. But it could be. For just $1 a day, you could sponsor a Bulgarian through our "Training Bulgarians for World Power" Program. The more Bulgarians we have through our program, the higher the chance that one day, Bulgaria will gain a rightful place in world history.

Laziness I can understand, but we've got Veilguard and Bloodlines 2 - two games that will undoubtedly be shit and two games everybody knows about anyway - news after drova's release instead, which is a questionable behavior.

"It's another Gothic, this time with pixelshit graphics."
There's the review.

Of course in order to make such a statement one would have to have played the game, or any other RPG of the last three decades, but we all know the Codex staff doesn't play games.

As a general rule, I don't pay much attention to non-turn-based action RPGs from unknown devs. In this case, I wasn't informed that people were geeking out about the game until about two weeks after it launched.

Nobody sane expects you to scour the forum 24/7 looking for any game people are generally favourable about to add to the Curator. Not adding GOTYs several years in a row though, as well as games whose reviews you plastered on our front page, is however inane.

Not wading into the other shit, but Drova is legit really good and captures the Gothic feeling really well.

Please do not insult the venerable administration as well as the honorable moderation staff of this forum. They are working overtime, completely for free, to remove threads that would endanger fair maiden NPCs in role-playing games with sexual assault.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of video game NPCs are raped - this includes oral, vaginal, anal as well as spiritual rape. Out of all rapes in video games, over 80% are done in visual novels, RPG Maker games, and Skyrim mods. A raped female NPC often suffers lifelong trauma.

Only the RPGCodex.net staff can protect these fictional women from being raped. They are far too busy with protecting NPCs in video games from harm to actually inform people about new games.

And besides, it's much more important to keep making new threads about every single minor development update of Avowed and VtMB2. What if Avowed added dogshit? What if VtMB2 added more pronouns that you can choose for Phyre? Don't you want to be updated in real time about these breakthrough developments in the RPG genre?

This fucking idiot doesn't know what's a grant

To receive a grant from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, your project must typically demonstrate significant climate relevance, innovative potential, cost-effectiveness in terms of CO2 savings, and align with the ministry's current funding priorities, which often focus on accelerating the energy transition, promoting clean technologies, and supporting climate-friendly business practices; specific requirements will vary depending on the chosen funding program, but generally include a detailed project proposal outlining the goals, methodology, budget, and expected impact on climate protection.

In their applications, applicants must indicate which aspects of the culture test (see Annex) are
fulfilled.

Annex 1: Culture test
A game is eligible for funding if it fulfils at least 2 criteria of each of the categories I. and II. below (II.1 or II.2)
and at least 1 criterion from category III.
I. Cultural context and cultural content
1. The game is set in Germany or the European Economic Area or has contemporary or historical references.
2. The main characters in the game represent a figure from German or European contemporary and world
history or a fictional figure in German or European cultural history.
3. The game is published at least additionally in German.
4. The game’s underlying topic, subjects or ideas relate to Germany or the European Economic Area, for
example:
a) The game’s structure, story or design addresses German culture (everyday culture, pop culture,
gaming culture, youth culture, high culture, educational culture, media culture, etc.), society, identity,
German history or aspects of life in Germany or in the European Economic Area.
b) The game’s story is based on a literary, cinematic, televisual or other foundation from the German or
European (language) area, e.g. including fairy tales, legends and science fiction.
c) The game references or evolves German gaming traditions.
d) The game highlights aspects of regional diversity in Germany or the European Economic Area.
e) The game reflects German cultural heritage.
In exceptional cases, the cultural context and content may also be non-European if it is very clearly defined
and particularly creative or innovative in design, and if a particularly large number of criteria under II and II are
met.

II. Cultural/creative platform
1. A significant part of the creative work (concept development, programming, music recording) will take
place in Germany and, as a result, it is expected to have a particular promotional impact for domestic
cultural and creative sector.
2. At least 50% of the team members have their main place of residence in Germany, are subject to taxation
there or are otherwise familiar with German culture, for example due to qualifications obtained in Germany
or an appropriate period of time spent in Germany.
The following team members must definitely meet this criterion: a) Producer
b) Lead Copywriter/Author/Concept Developer
c) Lead Composer/Sound Designer
d) Art Director
e) Technical Director
f) Lead Game Designer

3. Promotion of young cultural talent: The team includes graduates of universities or higher education
institutions who graduated within the past 2 years
a) if the university or higher education institution is located in Germany; or
b) from foreign universities or higher education institutions provided the graduate currently resides in
Germany.

III. Design-related, creative and technological innovation
The game is particularly creative or innovative in the following areas, for example:
1. Narrative structure or game play
2. Design of the characters, setting, story and environment
3. Game music
4. Interactivity, multiplayer function, user interface, user-generated content
5. Use of artificial intelligence
6. Use of new technologies for the development, implementation or application of the game

They have requirements and obligations to fulfill to get that government money. The German government certainly isn't going to fund some AfD chud game.

How many trannies in the game?
Here's a male player character receiving fighting training from an "undefeated woman."

There are also black magic women.

By your own admittance you have no idea what your role here is supposed to be. At least you're honest, even if just by accident.
