Undertale seems to have gathered significant appreciation, receiving praise from both gamers and critics alike. For some, it seems to have been akin to a religious experience. It's said that this is the best RPG game ever, the most emotional game, the best written game, pure joy to play, etc.

There is so much of this and it's told with such intensity that it is impossible to ignore.

Therefore I've decided to create a survey for fans of Undertale in the hopes of better understanding this phenomenon.

This is not a formal survey - feel free to skip questions or add to them at will.

Thank you for your participation!

Where and when did you hear about Undertale?

Approximately how many video games have you newly played (i.e. not played before) in 2015?

Approximately how many video games have you replayed (i.e. from previous years) in 2015?

Other than Undertale, which games do you think have good writing?

Other than Undertale, which games have engaged you emotionally the most?

Did you play SNES games as a child?

What web comic do you like the best?

What (fiction) book do you like the best?

What (fictional) movie do you like the best?

Undertale has become exactly the cancer its creator feared it would become (old tweets show his growing terror, rabid fans started attacking anybody critical of the game). One look at its large, vocal and absolutely deranged fanbase of furfags, trannies and tumblrinas should tell you all you need to know. In itself it is a neat little game, but it lasts the player a piddling few hours and is not nearly worth the massive amounts of praise it's getting.

It's a simple gimmick game gone viral along the lines of Thomas was Alone. The teenage homestuck fans that played it were truly in awe of this ''masterpiece'' for the single afternoon it took them to finish it, before proceeding to draw incest furry porn and blog about it for the rest of the year. I played and enjoyed it for what it was, but this faggot cult surrounding it is absolutely disgusting.

JRPGS are shit
It's made by a Canadian that works on Western webcomics, that's about as Japanese as it gets innit

Shit thread. Here's what I'd poll.

Are you a fag?
Are you a furry?
Are you a woman?

All would be way above the codex average for any other games.

It's just flavour of the month, although it's admittedly lasted a while so far. But eventually, there'll be another crap game to take up the mantle of Greatest Game Ever Made for a short while.

???

If it was great with mods I could half understand, since one's definition of greatness might be raping pregnant women.
