Some sites claim it to be an open world RPG.

Experience the first-ever open world Star Wars™ game, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. Risk it all as Kay Vess, a scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.

If you’re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.

Who gives a fuck about Star Wars anymore?

Since Disney euthanized Extended Universe and started making their sludge, stories and world building took a dive.
And they still haven't reached the bottom.
Star Wars never was well planned or logical setting, ill-suited for RPGs, but it was vibrant science fantasy with some direction.
Now it is just a random collection of underwhelming fan-fiction grade stories.

The gameplay trailer during the Ubisoft show actual looks good. Best looking Star Wars game since the 2000s.

Looks like you have a faction reputation system like GTA2 and the Mercenaries.

I wish they said more about it, because as is it’s hard to tell the size of it. How big the planet size zones are, or if they even are zone; after all Outlaws could be using stuff they were working on for Beyond Good and Evil 2. But it does seem to be open world, it looks like you can move from ground to air to space with your spaceship, and it does seem like you can just hyperspace jump to wherever you want. Game also has a strong kind of western feel to it, easy to imagine the speeder bike bit they showed being a shootout on horseback, just happens to be a western with space ships. I’m not sure there’s been a Star Wars game that really leaned on the whole space western vibe of the original movies.

Like it’s sense of style too. That big WANTED coming on screen also like a Mega Man X WARNING when you get a wanted level looked pretty great.

There's already some pushback online about 1. It's yet another Ubisoft open world 2. The choice of protagonist, a lot of people don't want to play as a woman.
They should have just let you play as one of the aliens, that would even let the game stand the test of time when being human will no longer be enough for the retards on the left.

It's probably gonna suck but at least it looks like enemies go down when you shoot them. Bored to fuck with bloated health bars and soulslike shit.

Ubisoft are capable of making decent open-world stealth games, but it all depends on whether they'll let you do a proper ghost run or whether there'll be countless parts where you sneak to a trigger than the game arbirtrarily decides it's time for a shootout (as happens in the trailer).

Also people are saying that guy in the reveal who looks like Kyle Katarn is Kyle Katarn.

They should let people play as a customizable character, including the filthy xenos. Star Wars has dozens of semi interesting alien races but they always choose human protagonists.

Realistically speaking the vast majority of males dont want to play as a chick and Ubisoft nows this. They have the data of their own older games were more than aprox. 70% of players always play as the male option. Even with the ridiculous push in marketing for female protagonists and Ubsioft retconing every game they released so that the female character is the canon option people still overwhelming refuse to play as them.

Odyssey was supposed to only have a female character. I think they will take the plunge and make this one only female lead, because it's star wars and will sell regardless.

Yes, I agree, you wont have a choice in this game. Its funny because I saw people complaining about too many female protagonists in newer games and others arguing its ok because AC Mirage and POP have male protagonists. They kinda missed the point that people dont want to play as black males  .

Is star wars still a big thing? AFAIK the last few movies and series bombed and the only thing that was very successful were the two games with the ginger male lead and his goth girlfriend.

Another, thing I always find it hilarious when they make the chick who weights 120 lbs soaking wet punch a dude in the face once and he immediately drops to the ground unconscious. They did this in the trailer and it cracked me up lmao.

An ugly human woman who is clearly and blatantly an uncanny valley facial scan. People would love to play as a cute Twi'lek.
Hell no, twi'leks are ugly. One of the worst things about the Star Wars fandom is attraction to hairless women with long meaty growths dangling from their skulls, whose even more hideous men sharpen their teeth. I don't wanna play Star Wars as anything other than a human, and only humans should be protagonists in the movies. One subject where I'm very happy to be racist.

Toxic Star Wars fans threaten to boycott Ubisoft's open-world game over female protagonist:

https://www.gamingbible.com/news/to...isoft-game-female-protagonist-567999-20230612

Low effort article by someone a team of people (apparently) that work at whatever that site is that I guess couldn’t find something to write about after a few days of new video game stuff being shown off.

It is kind of funny. Headline: Toxic Star Wars fans threaten boycott. Content of article: Here’s like three random quotes pulled from somewhere probably seen by basically nobody both before and after this article.
