So, World of Tanks, I play it, here's some criticism.

I see this weakspot skin you scum!

To be honest, I'm considering using a weakspot skins to learn the weakspots on tier 9-10 as the added critical damaged can change a lot in those tiers.

Oh I'm cheating in every way possible, no doubt about that. ;) I have enough butthurt from this game to last a long long while.

I decided to go the T20->Patton route, it's pretty fun so far. So I'm grinding the IS-7 (Heavy), T30(TD), and M46 Patton(Medium) while relying on mid-tier specials for credits. I'll probably do the Ferd next, or perhaps a french medium. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing as I'm still such a noob. I have found that my best games involve breaking through (or around) enemy lines and fast flanking hit-and-runs, so I'm liking the mediums more and more for that. Still a long long way to go xp-wise however.

7.5 is coming. Let's say they're just going in the same direction.

- French light and medium tanks AMX 12t, AMX 13 75, AMX 13 90, Lorraine 40t, Bat Chatillon 25t moved 1 tier up
- Based on statistics results, we've rebalanced (mainly nerfed) some parameters of French TD's and SPG's added in 7.4.

- Credit income and repair cost rebalanced for some tanks
- Say goodbye to some of your moneymakers (fix'd)

- Based on statistics results, we've rebalanced (mainly buffed) some parameters of the second USSR Heavy Tank line: Т-150, КV-3, КV-4, SТ-1, IS-4.

World of russian tanks strikes again! I stopped playing it a few weeks back. I'll go back to it if Mechwarrior Online bombs, but me and most of the BROs I usually play WOT with are all set to migrate onto the next shiny.

How is the game at the moment. I've bailed out when 7.4 came out, since there was fucking massive performance drop with the update. Is it any better now? If not, I'm sticking with War Thunder.

Good enough that I haven't felt like playing WoT since I got into beta. Similar in many ways, with careful maneuvering being very important. Firefights take longer though. You're very unlikely to get killed in a single salvo.

I'm still playing WoT. MWO looks pretty fun, but no beta for me.

I have a pretty fast rig so I didn't notice any performance problems with the patch.

At the moment I'm grinding a T28prot, IS-3 and T20. Looking for a good clan to platoon and TC with. I need to find a new game though, WoT is set up like a casino, the odds simply aren't in your favor, especially at the higher tiers (unless you want to drop $50 a month). It really is designed for guys who work long M-F hours and want to trade cash for wins on the weekends.

Great business model for WG, bad for players who want a level playing field.

The future of WoT
Far better than invisible walls, but most propapbly it would cause a lot of collision bugs and unleash unspoken nightmares upon the players. Even now it's possible to get stuck on an innocently looking fragment of map. I guess they'd have to redesign all maps, once again.

They should have included physics from the start instead of whatever garbage they started with (haven't played since beta).

WoT was made on the cheap, they've been desperately trying to play catch-up with the games incredible success ever since.

They recently bought the engine company so they could say "fuck it" and demand the features they need.

I've played some WoT recently and is it me, or match maker is a bit better these days?

Should get back into Clan Wars in WoT actually. Been too long. Been sticking to pub matches while I grind for the T110E5 and the E50M.

I highly recommend my clan: Road Not Taken (RNT). If you don't have a Tier X, they'll probably set you up in one of our off-shoot clans (RNT-P or RNT-R) but they're on TeamSpeak every day and will either try and run a company (or two, depending on how many are on) or platoons with count-downs (everyone hits "battle" at the same time and you often end up in the same match. We've had games where there are like 20 RNT guys in the game split amongst both teams).

I need to find a new game though, WoT is set up like a casino, the odds simply aren't in your favor, especially at the higher tiers (unless you want to drop $50 a month). It really is designed for guys who work long M-F hours and want to trade cash for wins on the weekends.

I've never had an issue. Mind you I am on a premium account (for the extra XP and cash) but I've never bought premium ammo - it's a complete waste of money. WoT really is a game where you need to learn the weak points of every tank you're up against. Where you shoot is critically important. But once you figure it out, you know how to take on most tanks / TDs without too many problems - even from front-on. If you're expecting to just point your gun in the direction of that E-75, shoot it where-ever and penetrate, then you'll be in for a world of pain. Unless you're flanking and getting on the sides and asses of things, you've got to learn the weak points.

Thanks for the info. I've been rolling with KBEAR for about 3 weeks now (I'm in KBK, soon to have a T10 tho). Is RNT on the EU server? I've been enjoing platooning and TCs, hope to start doing clan battles in a week or two when I get my IS-7.

Yeah, I think the worst is behind me. If I get into KBEAR I'll be getting 1k gold per week, which should cover premium and mandatory gold ammo for clan wars.

One thing I can't do anymore is pubs, it's just a pain trying to carry a fail team, and frankly I'm not good enough. Platooning helps a lot, but TCs are the most fun for me so far.

I'd play with some coherent people, but I'm not into teamspeak and all this stuff.

So, clans supply their members with gold from the Clan Wars? Kewl. Didn't know it's that much, though.

I have witnesses. Also, most of those kills came after my entire team had been killed. Really, we should've had this match in the bag. We were full tier 10's against Tier 8's and other shit but for some reason, when we don't have a commanding officer on the field (this was just a Company battle) and half the team is drunk, our play goes to shit. I stayed on base defense thinking we;d be fast-capped, instead I got to watch their arty take our guys apart.

Next thing I know, I'm hiding behind a rock on base, killing an M5 tha comes racing through, then the Sherman... The rest if a bit of a blur but at some point the E100 comes rolling in half-damaged. Two shots and he went down while he bounced off me. The Maus I did the same too. Neither of their 10's knew where to pen me (which made it slightly more embarrassing given these guys had killed my whole team by that point...) so I was able to peg the Maus in the turret weak-spot and turn mine away before he could return the favour.

Eventually, it's me and an artillery left and I'm thinking "draw" because I'm just too slow to go after the arty. I go anyway, thinking what the hell. So I leave the sanctuary of my rock and I'm halfway across the map when our base starts getting capped. By the time I get back, the artillery is literally at 98% base cap. I get up a hill and take the time to aim... 100%... and fire. I reckon I killed it right before it was about to time out to victory for them.

The match was last year (which you can see from the Maus' hit points) but it earned me a decent reputation in the clan. :smug:

KBEAR will pay you more than RNT. :P We're a casual fun clan. They reimburse for gold ammo spent during clan matches but it's unusual to get any regular Gold payment. Our "problem" is we don't do diplomacy. So we fight our way onto the map, get bored, fight everyone around us until everyone turns on us and kicks us out, then land somewhere else and do it again. Best we've had is a fair chunk of Turkey and Bulgaria and were making 17k per day or something like that (allied with Havok until, well, we got bored and they booted us off :P ). We're currently up in Norway but I haven't played clan matches for months - they're never on at the right time for me which is the main problem. It becomes a daily commitment and if you have just one day (usually a week day) where you can't field a full two or more teams, you usually lose something.

We're on the North American server though. You sure you're not too? I didn't think KBEAR were on the Euro server. I'm DarkUnderlord in-game.

So... Anyone still play this? I reinstalled it a couple of days ago 'cause dad wanted to do some father-son bonding by blowing up Ivan with superior german weaponry. They've been running some holiday even with x5 xp for first win of the day, so I finally got around getting something heavier than kameraden Stug III.

Game's improved quite a lot since I stopped back in august. Liking the physics engine. A lot better than invisible walls everywhere. And they finall got around implementing multiple start points and game modes per map. The frenchies have gotten their tech tree fleshed out with tank destroyers and arty. And the british got a small tree too.
Playing on EU occasionally. Mostly tier 5-7 german hardware. (Fully upgraded: Stug III, Jagdpanther, Hummel, PzKpfw IV, VK3001(P), VK3601H, VK3002DB). Will pick up a Tiger or Tiger(P) once I accumulate enough jewgoldz to pay for it.

Yes, I'm playing it right now actually. Just alt-tabbed out of battle.

I'm up to 3 Tier 10s, 60% WR, 1520 efficiency. Still having fun.

Ulminati, if you've been away, I highly recommend starting the American auto-loader line.

I roll with my Maus, E-100, E50M and T110E5 usually - although my premium's now expired so it won't be long before I can't do that any more. Probably about time I started looking for another tank to run anyway.

My tanks are slap dash all over the place, highest is M103, working my way up the brit medium and heavy lines. Soviet mediums are may latest obsession.

The chink tanks are hilariously mobile with troll cannons.

So... Anyone still play this?

Yup, i play it with my dad as well.
