Consider it both a successful satire of and tribute to the average teenage boy's headspace circa the early 2000s. Probably the first cultural product I’ve seen that conveys and actually has some affection for it. Would absolutely recommend to those of a certain age yearning for a short trip back to some simpler times.

From a design perspective played it alongside Boltgun and the comparison was not a flattering one for Boltgun. Very clear the people who made this understand what makes classic FPS titles different and the people who made Boltgun don’t. There’s also genuine earnestness to how everything is presented whereas Boltgun is all yellow ledges and irony-poisoned quips from your servo-skull to the point that I considered taking notes to effort-post about it. Another time maybe.

Some of the music is pretty good too:

It's good but not good enough for me to ever consider replaying it.
Undeniably oozes a lot of that very early South Park/Beavis & Butthead charm.
