Nope, they had trouble implementing a save system, so there's only a checkpoint system. IIRC it autosaves whenever you return to the Hiring Screen between missions or at handplaced checkpoints.
Wat?

They had trouble creating a manual save system? Wow.
No, because it's not easily fixed. It requires a lot of time investment from the person playing, and you still end up losing time since I imagine most people wouldn't want to spoil themselves by placing the checkpoints first.Mooooving the goaaalpoooosts.

Your original argumet was that it can't be fixed. It can. Fun does not factor into it, aspies have done far crazier stuff. No, because it's not easily fixed. I am no programmer but couldn't they just let you save at any time over a single file? I don't think it's that difficult to set up a button on the menu that let's you save your progress as if it were one of their "checkpoints", sure, multiple files would be a plus, but it's still way better than that.

Hey I'm no game dev but I have trouble believing it's that complicated, specially for a small scale RPG that wouldn't allow saving during combat to begin with so all those variables he gives as examples are p. irrelevant for SRR. At most save/load in SRR keeps track of what? script triggers and character/map states?I am no programmer but couldn't they just let you save at any time over a single file? That's not the issue. Read this article: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/art...ced-points/10301-Why-We-Have-Checkpoint-Saves
I bet there's patch in the first month that adds save points."Thankfully this kind of thing can be easily fixed."Your original argumet was that it can't be fixed. It can. Fun does not factor into it, aspies have done far crazier stuff.
Me: No it can't (be easily fixed).
Truth.
This is just the JRPG save system. I don't see the problem.
