Poor character build I think. Hoping I can fix it as I pick up more karma. I decided to go Elf melee this time around (I went SMG in SRR and shotgun in Dragonfall). I usually go Elf because I'm an etiquettefag. It turns out enemies can take me down fairly quickly even though I put some points into Body. I probably should put some points into Quickness to dodge their attacks instead.
Exactly the build that I've played and am playing right now. Putted some points in the new cybernetic skill, seems cool.

-That hacking minigame is going to be a massive pain in the butt eventually
The new matrix is very cool (the floating cubes next to the camera are a nice touch), but this is exactly what I fear.[/QUOTE]

It's a pet theory of mine that the people who are genuinely interested in a game read the dedicated thread for it.

*shrug*
It's a good theory, and Rivmusique is a bro.

Some references are really coming out of left field in this one. First Koschei, and now "saudade."

And then noticed my join date and realized that I wasn't around 15 years ago. No? How about being able to enjoy multiple genres? Not that either?
If SR combat was ANYWHERE close to JA2, you can be sure I wouldn't have posted my disappointment for SR:HK. It's not so I just want to try and enjoy the writing like I did in the first two "episodes", while avoiding/breezing through combat as fast as possible. You find SR:HK combat as good as JA2, go ahead and enjoy the shit out of it. I don't is all.

edit: Hang on, is this the Harebrained Schemes sponsored hype thread? My bad. I'll get the fuck out.

That you dislike Shadowrun combat is perfectly normal, I'd say. That you quit D:OS out of boredom while being able to replay PoE, on the other hand...

But whatever, don't take it too personally bro. I'm just a bit disappointed, is all. I like it when there's a depth to edgy motherfuckers, so to speak. Like, when mondblut condemns storyfags, there's a certain weight to his opinion that PoE-fans will just never have, if you get my drift.

Installed, now made my first pause after 7,2 hours of continous gaming (fucking have to work tomorrow).
Pretty damn good, have been rolling a Cyber-Melee Ork.
Slicing Doods together with Gaichu is fucking fun and Is0bel might be psycho-bitch but her grenade launcher is fucking awesome.
Finally a Decker who is usefull in meatspace.

Really liking it so far. Starts fast, hooks you into the story.

But, why do i still see the shitty tablet UI? Thought this was going to be a pc exclusive.
And i still can't save whenever i want

Of course you can save whenever you want?
Only thing that prevents you from saving if you or your party members are moving around.
Just wait until everyone is standing still.

Didn't think this was coming out for a couple of weeks. Just started by first playthrough of ToEE. Guess that shit is going on the back burner.

:bounce:

This is weird, I was just starting my first ToEE playthrough (got at the Moathouse) and am now putting it back on the bucketlist as well. Are you me?

Maybe. Just in case I'm not going to brofist your post. Can't be too careful where universe ending paradoxes are concerned.

I made an Ork Street Samauri because I wanted to check out the new cyberware. But Duncan, the Jar-Jar of this thing so far, is the same. Pretty annoying. Thinking of starting over.

Insert clever insult here
Are there any obvious gaps in the npcs you can pick up early on? Wondering what class to make my PC.
Pure direct damage mage is the biggest "hole". I kinda regret I was going to make my PC a combined mage-shaman like in Returns. Will focus more on Willpower and Spellcasting over Charisma and Conjuration over the long term, I think.

Also, I take back what I said about enemies focusing on the PC - must have been bad luck on my part. Seems that they do know how to prioritize targets.

For some reason, they have disabled spell targeting by portraits. Now you must click on them in the map instead.

The combat music has gotten orders of magnitude better. The combat track in the beginning was the HK version of the "Shadowrun menu" song.

New orks look like shit imo. And some of their portraits, oh boy.

So far I have seen many great improvements over previous games. For example we can finally manage our team items during missions or activate combat-mode even when enemies doesn't see us. New Matrix is really cool, much more detailed, and not that repetitive. Battles seems harder (that's good).
Visuals are great, but the new-style music gives me a headache, I'm really considering disabling it. I miss the old compositions...

Is direct damage mage any good though? I ran adept and street sam previously, the AI mages seemed pretty bad.
