Promises 6 races, 3 classes, turn based combat and choices&consequences.
The story involves you saving the world (again).

EDIT, official info:
Regina said:
Runemaster - From Chaos Rises a Norse Legend

With Runemaster, Paradox Development Studio invites you to a fantasy realm etched in the rich history of Norse mythology.
In this RPG, you are a hero in a time of chaotic upheaval. Explore the six worlds of Norse mythology, amass your forces and vanquish your enemies on the battlefield in the name of your chosen God. Will you choose to enforce change for those that crave it or will you seek to maintain the status quo - for better or worse?

You, alone can determine the fate of the world.
You, alone are the master of your own saga.

Announced Features:
- Vast vistas to explore: Wander the six worlds of Norse myth, from the lofty forests of Midgard to the fires of Muspelheim. Each time you start a new campaign, the world is procedurally generated to ensure each adventure is a venture into the exciting and unknown.
- Rich tactical combat: Recruit and command an expansive range of units with unique abilities. Learn to use your troops – and the terrain of the battlefield – to crush your enemies.
- Emergent storytelling: Who you are and the choices you make have a direct impact on the journeys you embark on. The game’s procedural quest system will take note of your deeds and challenge you accordingly. No two playthroughs will ever be the same.

Genre: RPG
Release date: Q4 2014
Platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux
Developed by: Paradox Development Studio
Published by: Paradox Interactive

It does seem to be. I'm not sure how this is going to play out. I really wish they had given some more info about it.

some more info:

- 6 races: Humans, Giants, Lightelfs, Darkelfs, Trolls and Dwarfs
- 3 classes: Skald, Berserker and Runemaster
- Norse mythology
- Turn-based combat.
- Huge, procedurally generated map -- and 6 different worlds.
- Emergent stories. Quests and storylines change based on your actions. "crusader kings as an RPG''
- Actions lead to consquences that lead to different quest arcs
- Some people trying to prevent Ragnorok, others will try to bring it forward
- "We want a single game to be long. 50-100 hours."
- also released on console

Could be good, no idea yet. Art style doesnt look too good, but maybe gameplay and story will be?

This could be interesting, if the events have actual depths are not just "rpg aesthetics".

My prediction: this will not be good.

Paradox has apparently stopped making games a while ago and now focus on making simulations instead, which may be perfectly fine as far as simulations go if your idea of fun is to sit around for 30 years as an African minor nation while waiting for Great Britain to come around and rape your tender butthole. Coupled with the fact that Paradox UIs have become progressively shitter over the past half decade to the point where navigating them are an exercise in pure tedium, Paradox really need to prove that they can make a good GAME Again.

Failing that, they should just give the budget Money for this game to Taleworlds to help them make M&B2 better. MB1 is the best thing to ever have carried the Paradox logo.

But can you enslave nations through necromancy?

How long until the first thread on the Paradox forums requesting romance in Runemaster?
And how long untill trannies and "people of color" are demanded as playable characters?

It is a bit funny coming directly after the release of Banner Saga, you must admit.

Looks like it could be good. Though, the maps make it look like a game is going to be in the style of King's Bounty or Heroes of Might and Magic. Not bad games, but I tend to get burned out on them fast.

They just couldn't resist making yet another swords'n sorcery fantasy shit setup about saving the world. I'm so fucking bored of elves and dwarves and fireballs. Oh well, maybe this is somehow different in a positive way (yeah, right).

I would like to believe, but they haven't shown anything. Which worries me. Reminds me more of a strategy/rpg hybrid, like King's Bounty to be honest. I'm hoping for a real rpg but the mention of consoles doesn't impress me much. Also the art style is pretty sucky compared to what they could have done, their Old Gods "realistic" artwork is awesome.

I stopped reading at simulations. Try playing a Paradox game first maybe.
