I would've spared a brofist were you not an annoying cunt with your "Even forum veteran Grunker, an inveterate hater of anime aesthetics in all their aspects, found the game to be a masterpiece of system design." right there in the blurb.

Liking thing 'despite' the aesthetic is a dogwhistle for being in the closet, in which case the text is going to be needlessly catty. Next time, find someone who actually enjoys anime aesthetics to write about a game with anime aesthetics. For the exact same reason I don't give a shit about anything written by idiots who talk about mecha games being good 'despite' being mecha games.

Man I kinda forgot about this game and now the review has reminded me of it. Have they finished adding all the DLC missions already? I didn't want to play the DLC until they were 100% done with it.

They've begun (very) active development of the sequel and the last few patches have been minor fixes. They've also stated they won't be working on this game for the foreseeable future at all. If this ever gets more content, which I kindda doubt, it's not gonna be for a long, long time.

Well since they're not planning to work on TS1 anymore we can consider the game to be finished and now would be a good time to play the DLCs.

Now I want to write a review of a western cRPG and start it with a whole paragraph about how I dislike the greyish, sad looking graphics, lack of imagination and a boring storyline lacking any emotional pull.

The story is an incomplete mess and would be even if they dedicated 10000 hours to it, but as far as gameplay goes, it's feature complete.

You're mentioning races and racial bonuses, what's there apart from humans? Are there elves, jews, goblins or negroes?

Troubleshooter is not a particularly difficult game
Nvm, lost all interest...

No. Other racials would be beast, drones, that kind of stuff. I could have said meta-types, but then I already use types for the character's SP-masteries (Spirit, Fire, Ice, etc.).

Unironically the best tacticool ever made, when it comes to character building - and it even has pretty damn good TB combat to test your builds.

We don't talk about aesthetics and the "story".

Grab the Codex by the pussy
It's not "anime" that puts me off. It's the Korean shit.

But still I'm planning to play this later. Gameplay is king.

Could the local "prestigious patricians" please explain why this game's mere aesthetic is enough to put you off completely, but you're willing to put up with say games like KOTC2 that basically look like dross? Hello? Give it a chance at least, it's a genuine work of love made by spergs for spergs and simply put a robust game in more ways than one. You're guaranteed to get a ton of mileage out of it if you enjoy TRPGs at least somewhat, especially if you're into the minmaxing/buildcrafting brand of autism. Admittedly it does start out quite humdrum and slow so you have to power through the initial missions until you've unlocked more characters and systems, skipping all the dialogue and cutscenes helps by the way. ;)
