Completed Rimworld Codex Colony - Co-Op Extraordinaire

There's been a few Rimworld LPs already, so why not make things even more complicated by sharing the same save with yours truly and RK47 - taking turns without any planning beforehand is no doubt going to work out splendidly.

00 - Preparation H

Randy XTREME will be our storyteller for the LP; an entirely unpredictable mad god. Death will likely come swiftly and painfully, or we might just get lucky and get showered with divine boons - time will tell.
No mods for now to keep things simple, but there's always the possibility of adding some mancave spelunking mods later.

Using the seed 'popamole' generated a rather unremarkable planet - since this is a crash landing and not some goddamn luxury cruise, we pick the first site the 'select random site' button gives us that isn't a desert or ice sheet. And Randy, true to his nature has decided to bestow upon us a paradise: A temperate forest where plants (and crops) grow all year round. Not too hot, not too cold - but just right. We won't be lacking in food, at the very least.

Enter our Dramatis Personae. All banished from the utopia of Codex glitterworlds into the harsh, uncharted wilds of fringe space. All are guilty of something (probably buggery) and this is where they'll eke out their pitiful existence until Randy's had enough.

Kalin says he's a blacksmith, but with that scrawny frame he looks more like a fashion designer - in any case, he has the burning passion for all things crafted so he'll eventually make a fine slave laborer for our duster factory. He can't shoot for shit but he has studied the :honorblade: all his life and thus gets dibs on the Plasteel Knife that's part of the starting gear. Fast walker's a decent trait to have since he'll be hauling a lot of shit.

Jaesun's a gay psycho vet who's too SMRT for his own good; he gets extra skill gain boost but also suffers more easily from nervous breakdowns. He's got some decent stats plus a burning passion for research which means we'll get some of that sweet future tech sooner rather than later. As the best (only) shot of the bunch, he gets the starter Survival Rifle. You don't fuck wit de Jaesun.

HHR is another gay psycho, who's even more into man meat than Jaesun. Horrible stats overall plus he's apparently a stinkin' cowardly pacifist who abhors violence so he gets no weapons at all. Fuck you, HHR. If it weren't for that decent construction skill and the fact that at 2 medicine he's still our best doctor (this colony is so doomed), he would've been instantly exiled. But he's safe for now, until we can find someone better.

Also featuring Rowdy Roddy Piper as designated colony and most likely MVP since these losers won't amount to much.

The ruin close by is repurposed as temporary barracks, and we instantly get started on some early farms because arbeit macht frei. The darker brown areas right next to the barracks are fertile soil where crops will grow at 140% speed.

This pre-existing wall will give us some sorely needed materials for building a proper wall for our base, wood is not only easy to break but also flammable, which is just asking for trouble when the raiders arrive. Granite is stronk and sexy, but gathering the chunks and turning those into usable blocks would take too much time at this point, deconstructing the wall is much faster.

HHR keeps wandering off, not doing his job. What a fat bastard.

Randy's first attempt at screwing things up, but the joke's on him - as we have no electricity yet, we are also immune to the solar flare. Normally it's an event that can be a pain in the ass, but not this time.

HHR keeps suggesting lewd, lecherous things to Kalin but he ain't no homo. HHR feels bad. Work continues to establish our base inside the open area between them thar hills.

Everyone gets their own bedroom, of a sort. More of a closet, but at least they aren't whining about having to sleep in a shared barracks anymore.
And then finally something interesting happens: a damsel in distress. Guess this exclusively manlove colony didn't last that long.

A wild Scrooge appears, she's got some solid stats on her. Social skill helps with trade and recruiting prisoners, and with her high'ish animals skill we could tame, breed and train some good animals.

Her pursuers turn out to be just one guy, wielding a crappy machine pistol. Oh no.

With a shooting skill of 0 he's no match for our scharfschütze Jaesun.

Could've left him there to bleed out, but since the barracks happened to have a bed empty, why not let Scrooge practice her medicine on him a bit. She does a horrible job at bandaging him up, so he'll probably get infections and die, unless some slaver happens to swing by and buy him first.

Our prisoner's part of The Skunks, which is a pirate band - they'll never be friendly to us so it doesn't matter what we do to them. If we ever capture someone from the other factions, we can always release them to gain a rep boost which'll come in handy when doing trading. Or just feed them to that porker HHR.

As we've almost exhausted our emergency ration supply, it's time to make a storage room for food. Food (especially meat) will rot if left at anything higher than 0C, so we need to build a walk-in freezer.

Meanwhile, Jaesun is filled with confidence after sniping down that no-good sumbitch scroogie chaser so he gives hunting a try. It does not go well at all, and while Jaesun runs behind doors to cower from the crazed manhunting wolf, Kalin comes to the rescue and stabs the beast to death. That's metal.

All in all a remarkably uneventful first week, Randy ain't shit. Now it's time for RK47 to fuck it all up.

02 - RK's Update
Thanks fam, let's have a look at what Turisas has done.

...four solar panels in one week? Totally not overkill. We really need a lot of power for ... what, exactly?

Two freezer ...one electric stove. And a lightbulb. I'm sure the cook will do a fine job of cooking in sub zero temperature.

Let's take a look at our colonists:

HHR is such a good builder but no passion for such work. He saves his burning passion for what little he knows of medicine and some enthusiasm for mining. Unfortunately he's a psychopathic homosexual who can't deal with violence, research or cooking. Guess he'll have to eat raw

Jaesun is a trained killer. And a more than capable researcher. He derives joy from research, mining and growing. He's the only researcher in our colony. We must keep him alive until turret research is complete. Unfortunately (?) he's also a gay psychopath.

Kalin Ibrahim is a blacksmith who works fast and possess innate understanding how the human body is cleaved/crushed with sharp/blunt objects at point blank range. He knows the way of the metal and is also a capable grower and cook. His only issue is his tendency to binge on chems.

Scrooge is an altruist and the only woman in the colony. She abhors violence, research and couldn't even draw a stickman comic. She's really good with people and animals though. And has burning passion for growing. The hentai potential of a non-violent woman living with two gay psychos is too strong to ignore....oh wait. Both of the psychopaths were gays. She's safe. Unless Kalin Ibrahim has other ideas. At least she runs fast with Jogger trait.
We assign her to warden duties so she can get recruiting done. (and hopefully triggers a hentai prison escape scenario where she is taken hostage.)

A small patch of smokeleaf patch is proposed on the fertile grounds outside the prison cell.

The cooking of fine meals is suspended for the time being.

The really cold temperature is slowing down the cooking process and I just saw Scrooge feeding a fine meal to the prisoner. This is unacceptable!

What's worse, the colonists are literally eating without a dining table and chair. This contributes to worker's unhappiness! Awful! What good is solar powered living when you don't have a good place to sit down and eat chicken rice?

A dining room project is immediately proposed.

All fine meals are now forbidden and should be consumed during emergencies.

Stockpiling simple meals is now a priority.

03 - RK's Update
Well, we got some work done finally. Thanks to Turisas for leaving like...barely any iron and wood on stockpile.

Dining table is done. And a new room for research is built.

We know who's gonna be sitting there all the time.

I really want turrets. We have too many pacifists in this colony.

Scrooge gets to work at training our husky pet how to fetch stuff.

Simple meals are now limited to just meat ingredients. The vegetables are saved for fine meals.

And our prison accommodation is officially better than the colonists individual rooms.

04 - RK's Update - Day 2

Morning fam.

Jaesun wakes up with very bad moodlet.

We let the nigger stuff himself in fine meal for mental break prevention.

A gay psycho nigger left to break could cause deadly cocksequences.
Kalin nervously cleans Dr. Jaesun's research lab to improve the mood.

And as a final fuck you of the day, a solar eclipse occurred.

Hopefully the battery will last long enough to keep the food frozen.
Speaking of frozen food...

This fucking stove cooking is taking too long, even for a simple meal. We gotta build a small kitchen to isolate away the below zero degree room temperature.

That should work.
Jaesun's mood is improving, but the darkness pisses him off.

Scrooge helpfully lights a torch in his room.

But the meat supply is getting low in the fridge, we need to hunt soon.
A nearby muffalo herd should be the perfect solution to our food problem.

But hunting a large pack of muffalo carries a risk: should one of them get pissed at us for shooting at it, the rest of the pack will turn aggressive and that might be the end of our Kolony. We must think of a safer way to hunt meat.
At last the kitchen is built.

A suspicious logo is spotted near a mountain wall.

It was too deliberate to be natural.
It must be God's sign, HHR thought.
He immediately went to bed even though it's just 1700 hours. Yes, it's fucking dark all day due to the eclipse.

Meanwhile, Scrooge fails once again to recruit the prisoner.

Perhaps if she walks in naked, just wearing a muffalo-hide cowboy hat? Something to ponder...

It's late. 2200 hours...HHR finally got the sign from God.

He walks towards the herd of sleeping muffalo...and begins to construct God's plan.

Build a wall, His voice commanded. And build he did.

'And that's how I carried out God's will,' HHR said as he dug into the morning meal.

Nobody believed him.

Holy crap, you guys actually did it!

Things are looking great so far, no serious wounds, haven't been burnt to a crisp and no murder droids have chopped me up with cyber-machetes. Also got both eyes intact, whaddya know! Even better, Scrooge will no doubt realise who the manly man in the colony is and start making me sandwiches.

05 - RK's Update Day 3

We'll try to tame the muffalos. Both the ones trapped and the ones outside.

The best part is that hunger is a slow process. Eventually the grass within the cage will not be sufficient to feed them and they'll collapse of hunger. Then we can walk in and tame them with zero risk...failing that, we butcher them and make meat buns.

HHR on the mean time tries to boost the stockpile of steel for the colony.

Kalin is busy picking cottons...because the only nigger in the colony is busy acting as the only researcher.

Problem, Kalin ?
Scrooge blew it again in the cell. Ponder upon the double meaning of that statement for a while.

Does it make you hard?
Elsewhere an animal goes mad.

It's one of the trapped muffalos... it'll calm down eventually.
Further scouting to the south reveals a bloodstained field with a herd of does around..one can only guess that the Warg nearby is responsible for it.

I couldn't find any injured animal around the area, it must've been killed and eaten by the lone warg.
As the colonists goes to bed, Scrooge ponders the cowboy hat plan...

While cargo pods drops from the sky and Randy Random gives us more berries to feed the colony.

This is good, since berries need no preparation and can be eaten raw with no drawbacks.
HHR wakes up in the middle of the night again and lay a protective barrier around the sleeping does.

He finishes it just as the sun rises.

06 - RK's Update Day 4

Black Gay Scientist with major degree on Sexuality finally declares a breakthrough at noon!

Now we can proceed to researching much-needed gun turrets.

All this for the colony's safety.
HHR and Jaesun quickly went to work with steel mining.

While Scrooge puts on the cowboy hat Kalin just made for her and begins to unbutton her top...

"Oh, you're back for more? Come on baby, persuade me.' Weber, the prisoner licks his lips. He already has his pants down.

'Why don't you start by dancing around the flames, baby?'

I'm doing this for the colony. I'm doing this for the colony. I'm doing this for the colony. She murmured the words over and over. Part of her wanted to believe that. Another part of her asks what the fuck is she thinking, giving her dignity away to her former captor?

'Is this enough?' she finally stopped, gasping for breath, hands covering her privates.
'Not yet..'

Elsewhere, Jaesun watches from his monitor...

'Come back tomorrow, babe. Same time, same place. It'll be our secret.' Weber chuckled as he tucks his member back into his pants.
She ran out of the cell, racing back to her discarded shirt in the storage area, past Kalin who resumed picking cotton with both hands stained by white liquid.

'Sup,bae?' Kalin cooly asked while keeping his pupils focused on what matters.
The cotton. Definitely.
The puffy...big...fluffy...cottons.
There was no response.
Later Scrooge sought solace among the animals and successfully channeled her rage to taming a muffalo.

Her nerves calmed, she returned back to the colony where the communication console is complete.

Her fingers tapped a set of frequencies leading to a known slave trader.

She didn't hesitate.

07 - RK's Update Day 5

The next morning, Kalin and Scrooge has a short convo about their yesterday.

Scrooge doesn't seem to want to talk much and instead reveled with nature, taming animals wherever she could.

She also discovered that the hungry muffaloes broke out of the trap HHR has set. Damn!

It's noon...someone's hungry.

A high tech research table is planned to accelerate Jaesun's research progress.

Kalin cheers himself up by tailoring a duster.

It's 2 AM.
Someone's not getting fed.

08 - RK's Update day 6

Weber woke up at 5 AM.
It was unusual. He can smell the fragrant rice and corn field just outside...
He swore he could taste its sweetness when he licked his lips.
But there's something else when he swallowed his saliva.
The pain. The intense pain.

'T-that bitch! I'll fuck her up when she comes with my meal ! I SWEAR TO GOD!'

No fucks were given.
Kalin picked the cotton field, riddled a doe with machine pistol.

And left it to bleed for a bit before finishing it off.

Scrooge resumes her wilderness adventure, taming another animal, this time a boomrat.

Having a boomrat as a pet is a bad idea. Hunting it is also a bad idea. Why?
They explode when they die.

Not a good idea. Only kill when it's raining.
Back in HQ, HHR finishes the high-tech research bench for Jaesun.

Those fucking animals broke out of trap again.

We're gonna kill them all.
It's noon.

'I-I'll bite her breast...eat her. GGhhhHHAAAARHHHHH!'
Elsewhere, out of curiosity, Kalin tries to hunt animals with his plasteel knife and gets bruised for the trouble.

That was a bad idea, thankfully it was nothing serious.

Jaesun finally finished turret research that evening.

And the radio crackles to life as the pirate caravan announced their arrival.

Not a moment too soon for someone at death's doorstep...

'P-please...I'm sorry-I'm sorry. Feed me- anything'

09 - RK's Update Day 7

'I don't wanna die...'

Weber collapses. His world got darker and darker still. The rain outside intensifies. He swore he could hear footsteps.
The door creaks open.

She's there...but why is she undressing him? He has no energy left to stand let alone fuck.

'Eat up. You're about to be sold off.'

'Oooooh.' was all he could mutter as spoonful of food were stuffed down his mouth.

Tater the slaver waves as Scrooge walks out of the cell.

'Well? You call. I come. Got slave?'
'Give him till morning to rest. He can't walk right now.'
'Okay.'

Later that night, disaster struck

A shortcircuit power conduit sparked a fire.
No one knew why Kalin was awake that night, but he quickly rushed to put out the flame.
Too late, sparks appeared on the surface of the battery.

'Oh shi-'

Amazingly, he did not panic and let the torrential rain douse the flame off his body.
He quickly put out the remaining flames and painfully climbed back into his bed.

Scrooge nursed him hours later.
Morning came, and the transaction was made.
There were considerations to be made.

An excellent sniper rifle and a superior personal shield were very prized items but deemed too expensive to get at the current time. Instead Scrooge settled for two young arctic wolves in exchange for three muffalos she tamed and that piece of shit who tried to fuck her.

She felt like a worse human being after pocketing the silver.
But psychopaths like Jaesun and HHR has no such compulsions.
For they have more important shit to worry about, like what's for lunch.

And the next research project.

The caravan left on the 2nd day, closing another week for the KKK Colonists.

All hail Kodexia.

These weiners sure like to complain a lot. Ordnung and arbeit simply isn't enough, they just have to have their frivolous fun, too.

There, a stick to throw stuff at - knock yourself out. At least it'll give a minor skill increase in shooting, along with the nonsense joy factor.

RK has deemed it necessary to put some ramshackle defenses up; not surrounded with sandbags for cover bonus, or even a roof on top of them for dat sweet necropolis shroud of darkness. That'll have to be remedied at some point.

The home area is what determines what areas the indentured laborers should keep clean and in working order; cleaning puddles of blood from grass isn't a very effective use of anyone's time so we remove these unnecessary safe spaces.

Battery doesn't have a roof either which means it could go kablooey if it starts to rain, so HHR lumbers along to fix it along with the turrets.

And since these pansies are finding their current accommodations so awfully drab, we plop down a few flower pots - a cheap way to get some modicum of beautification going to this horrible hovel of ours.

Meanwhile, Kalin is what Kalin does.

And Scrooge finally accomplishes something of note - too bad she didn't bag one of the females that we could've milked. Maybe HHR can milk the male, instead.

There are predators about, and it won't do to have the muffalo just roaming about freely; having them close by means colonists won't spend the entire day chasing them down for shearing.

Speaking of apex carnivores, the bear is best avoided when it's hungry, Scrooge would make a fine, unarmed and unarmored morsel.

Rowdy somehow has failed to grasp the concept of feeding itself despite there being plenty of critters around. Starve then, see if I care.

HHR tries to make himself useful by pondering on the riddle of steel. And steely man-buns.

Cotton is a useful thing to have, not so much for clothing but things like furniture and carpets. Kodexer kolonists like nothing better than full carpet floors, the weirdos.

Prisoner hut is empty now so HHR tears it down for some of them sweet, sweet granite blocks.

That offer would sure be helpful if the landing site (purple flag) wasn't on the FUCKING OTHER SIDE OF THE PLANET. Friendly AI my ass.

RK has left the wee lil' boomer all alone in a cave, shame on him and his azn animal cruelty. To make it up to him, we try to recruit this comely female boomrat so the two can eventually breed and we can have an army of little yellow allahuackbars that explode upon dying.

A lone crazed men's rights activist decides to raid us, no doubt righteously angered by the bros inviting a filthy female into their midst. He's one helluva shooter, but unfortunately for him he's wielding a crappy pigsticker.

Meanwhile, in the Fields of Torment the arduous arbeit continues, rain or shine.

Jaesun waits by the northern door with his oozi nein millimeetah for the perp to arrive, but the sneaky little bastid decides to go around back and pummel at our vital battery.

Jaesun and the boomrat ain't having none of that shit tho, and nail the raider despite taking some damage and *coughcough* friendly fire, themselves.

Only moments after, a random escape pod drops down nearby, and it turns out to be everyone's least favorite modder, ~qwinn (didn't even have to change the nickname there). She's got some a-ok stats and gets captured so our resident Gestapo kommandant Scrooge has someone to interrogate later.

Due to lax building regulations and overall shoddy craftsmanship, the electric system decides to crap out, fortunately the section of the cable that goes boom is encased in the brick wall and causes minimal damage.

Without electricity, Scrooge has to try and patch ~qwinn in the darkness. Kalin tries to help by putting a torch next to them, but fails twice and says fuck this and goes to sleep. Nice try, bro, maybe git gud for next time.

It'd be nice to have more than just solar power, so the fatty gets sent to build a turbo turbine. Wind power's output varies greatly, and usually when you need it the most is when it decides to be completely useless. A stop-gap for now before we get to the geothermal power.

And with annoyingly unpractical timing, Randy slams us with a heatwave - things are about to get sweaty and moist. Without power, our freezer can't function and temperatures soon climb to meat-ruining figures.

It'll get hot real fast and that means cranky little kodexers, so some ventilation is in order.

Rowdy finally figures out how to fill his belly, and starts with the shredded corpse of the raider. Somehow he manages to devour the corpse's entire head, that's a good boy.

Outside, the heat is on, and Scrooge ain't liking it none. She's miserable, and we can all blame Kalin for that since he hasn't managed to make dusters for everyone yet.

Even the plants suffer and their growth progress is diminished.

A pack of mean little mutant beavers show up, ready to devour entire forests bare. Fortunately ours is a decently sized map so they should be a non-issue for now - just something to keep an eye on.

And just because being hot and miserable isn't enough, strange psychic emanations from the nearby mountains of madness send nightmare visions to every bro in the colony. Someone's bound to crack sooner or later.

With food stores almost depleted again, it's time for Jaesun to go on the prowl once more. Piggies make for delicious hamwiches and nobody minds the bits of lead that much.

Lightning strikes and some grass starts to smolder; it is fortunate that this happens to be a rainy thunderstorm - there's also a dry variant which can cause rapidly spreading patches of fire everywhere.

Jaesun doesn't last long in the miserable heat, and goes to stuff his face for the rest of the day. Great job there, guy - you were meant to restore the food supplies, not destroy them!

Beavers seemed to have split into two smaller packs, so I doubt they'll pose any threat whatsoever to the colony.

A slaver caravan led by Thor Kaufman appears, and Kalin instantly sets his gaze upon the one of premium quality. Unfortunately, she's one of the guards and isn't for sale. Too bad.

Doges keep the pest population under control, the squeaks they make while dying are rather amusing.

Seems like some filthy natives were following the caravan, for they arrive only a few hours afterwards. Instead of attacking right away, they dick around in the corner for a while, getting heatstrokes.

Thor has some good shit for sale, but all we can afford is some pe-, preno-, penere-... antibiotics, plus some cocainum as a last resort if someone's really about to break down completely - snorting some coke gives you a massive mood boost.

The tribal scum finally gather enough courage to mount and assault, and fail miserably. Jaesun's childhood background as a vidya nerd pays off and the tribals get utterly rekt.

Bradylama is the only survivor of the bunch, and even he's about to die a miserable death. But hey, free doctoring training if nothing else so he gets captured nonetheless.

One of the beds isn't up to par (the quality affects rate of energy gained), high time that was changed.

Kalin finally gets some fine leaf harvested, he's been waiting for this since day one.

And we get some more pods, this time with only junk, unfortunately.

~Qwinn's all healed up, and gets to enjoy the fine amenities we have to offer. All two steps of them.

Good doge! No vermin allowed 'round these parts!

Guess they got pissed about the last raid - I don't see how trying again with less men this time will turn out any better for them, but okay.

A heroic piggy goes mad at this constant tribal onslaught, and attacks the bullies all by his lonesome. He dies a valiant death in battle and is welcomed to become honored bacon at Valhalla.

Immediately afterwards, a notification about a random Thrumbo appears as well. They are valued mostly for their horns (3000s each!), but unfortunately we aren't quite ready yet to tackle such a gargantuan beast.

They come, and they die. And somehow Jaesun manages to be in front of the turrets again.

As soon as the fighting's over, Kalin jumps at the chance to try some tribal smokes.

And Rowdy eats another head. Guess we better keep finding corpses for him from now on or the insatiable lust for man-flesh will drive him to eat one of the colonists.

Scrooge tries her best, but ~qwinn's being an ungrateful bitch.

That's... random. The alphabeavers can ONLY eat trees, and they do so at an incredible pace so it's not necessarily a bad animal to have - attacking raiders make use of trees as cover to shoot behind from, so the beaver could be used as an alternative to fire in clearing out the areas around our base and make the enemies more susceptible to our defenses.

Unfortunately, the bear that was drooling over Scrooge earlier manages to sneak past the ever-watchful eye and eat up poor Rowdy. Scrooge finally recruits ~qwinn and an exotic goods trader shows up, with elephants for sale. They'd make for one helluva defense versus raiders, but they also cost a lot - perhaps too much given our meager resources at the moment. Maybe RK can figure something out on his turn.

14 - RK - Day 1

The boomrat is told to stand outside, near the caravan pack.

Scrooge tries to negotiate the best price, but it appears we can't really get anything except silver this time. I don't think we need an alpha beaver around. It fetches a decent price.

Meanwhile, HHR replaces the northern compound steel door with granite.

Also, as a rule of a thumb, I prefer to keep 600 silvers with me to dispatch a caravan whenever I need them, so I sold off a few fine meals away to bump up our reserve to 600.

The boomrat is in position.

Jaesun stepped off from his research table and draw his machine pistol.
He pushed the granite door aside and took aim at the boomrat.
'You stupid shit, don't you know boomrats explode when it di-' one of the slavers tried to warn Jaesun.
'I know,' the homosexual whispered to himself as he squeezed the trigger.

The fire spread quickly, but as I correctly predicted: the granite walls are not flammable.

It was going so well and I look forward to the harvest of elephant meat and hides...until divine intervention struck and rain fell.

The caravan quickly recovered and wrote off the incident as a minor display of inexperience by a faggot colonist.
