I am looking for a turn-based fantasy RPG that is non-linear and has LOTS of classes and attack types to use. Preferably in 2D and pixel art, as ultima. I wanted to try Knights of the Chalice 2, but was disappointed that it didn't have the necromancer class, which is my favorite (The price is a bit more expensive than the others on my list). Another game I want to try is Horizon's Gate, which is cheaper, but doesn't have the necromancer class, but it has an open world and several classes, so it might be worth it.

I've already played Divinity Original Sin 2 and loved everything about the game, and I'm really looking forward to Baldur's Gate 3.

I'm not a big fan of JRPGs, as they often have a huge disregard for underdeveloped regions and put the price of games in the clouds. For example, Tatics Ogre Reborn costs around $200, the same price as Baldur's Gate 3, but I don't think it has the same quality.

TLDR. I am looking for a turn-based 2D tactical fantasy RPG that is non-linear (open-world) and has many classes and attack types to choose from, including the necromancer class, if possible. If you have any suggestions, I would be very grateful.

Temple of Elemental Evil. It has great TB combat and summoning spells, including animate dead. You can choose what order to visit several locations in at the beginning but eventually it becomes a linear dungeon crawl.

Not sure if you are looking only for top-down perspective or 1st person too.

Grimoire is open-world and has the Necromancer class, as well as many others.

Lords of Xulima is pretty good too (top-down exploration). Don't remember the classes.

Have you played the classics like Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale or Temple of Elemental Evil? They have unsurpassed mage battles.

Pillars of Eternity 2 is similar to those and has many classes as well.

How much is lots of classes? also ... "rpg game"

Anyway.

Try battle brothers if you feel lucky. It's classless but you can train your mercs however you want.
Wartales its out now. It's turn based and there are classes.
Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor didn't age well, but i still find it pretty fun.
Solasta maybe?
Wizardry 8. Good shit.

If you're a tranny or any other degenerate you might like Gayfinder Tranny Maker by Owlcat and Piece of Excrement 2: Turdfire by Obsidian. Both have turn based mode.

I prefer a top-down or isometric point of view, but I am open to all suggestions. Thanks for the recommendations, I will definitely take a look :D

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. It's also free.
