Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Bubbles In Memoria
Was Al-Quadim that "obsure"though? I remember it was a big deal when it first released because of first game with "Arabian Nights" setting. (1001 Thousand Night Tales is the original name of the setting BTW)
It is a cool game that mostly focused on the story though. If i remember right, haven't replayed this one in ages.
If you like this setting, I'll recommend you "Island of the Caliph" another cool game with lots of exploration.

Quest for Glory II is also pretty good for those vibes.

Not far at all. Al-Qadim; I barely got out of the intro tutorial and Entomorph I was stuck at that initial village getting nowhere. I digged the atmosphere of each but just gave up. I must really suck at those two games.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Is that a hobbit or a (barbarian?) toddler you control?
No idea, it's a MobyGames screenshot, but I found it funny that apparently you can play a duck humanoid which is pretty unique

Huh, the first screenshot seemed familiar for some reason, now that you show the duck character I do remember trying this a while ago when I crawled through an archive.org collection of obscure games.

There must surely be a brave codexer who completes them all and writes a full account/tutorial of said adventures..... maybe with a witty accent.

Ohhhh!!! Black magic is awesome but best ending is appleII. It can be fucking hard too. Sometimes it's all luck. Hoarding shit can get you killed and sometimes you will love that god damn troll and beg for the roc to get get. Those fucking plant spitting baseballs can be assholes.

dosgames site
they have a lot of weird games on that site.
too much share/shovelware and too many instances where they're one and the same on that site.
Once you get past Apogee and Epic titles you tend to end up with more bad than good. RPGs in particular tend to not be so good shareware-wise.

Anyway, Dungeons of the Unforgiven is good for a single-person dungeon crawler, but man, is it long. There are at least five huge dungeons, all randomly generated, so I doubt many have finished it.
