Ebay are the scum of the fucking earth, so of course Paypal is equally bad. These people are greed incarnate. If you think them randomly freezing accounts is bad, try selling on current-gen ebay. They charge a listing fee for most categories, final value fee, shipping label fee then Paypal transaction fees. So they're double dipping their soggy money-hungry balls on top of taking 10% of your sales profit.

Good luck with your account, be ready to fight them tooth and nail because they'll find any excuse to fuck you over and likely ignore any reasoning.

Somebody should sue the shit out of them. Too bad they have money for good lawyers.

There was just one class action lawsuit regarding this back in 2002 and apparently it wasn't enough:

I worked for PayPal.

They have strict anti-money laundering policies... but only if YOU do it. They do it themselves. I was told to rip customers off at my job. I also know for a fact they like to sometimes freeze accounts for random auditions, using the money for interest meanwhile. PayPal also, like most big companies, commits massive legal, but dubious tax evasion by having an empty office in Luxembourg, evading billions of taxes.

You're welcome.

I suggest you don't mention potato. Company Policy is to offer no refunds/service/assistance where VIRTUAL GOODS are concerned. This is official policy for service agents.

This means ALL virtual goods, including Steam purchases, in-game gold, etc. Wouldn't surprise me if Kickstarter counts.

It seems I have beaten their Star Stable challenge:

Dear Greg Martin Enterprises,

Our review is complete and we have returned your account to regular standing.

We appreciate your patience and thank you for your help in making PayPal the safest and most trusted online payment solution.

Sincerely,

And while I think of it, do we want to do Codex USBs again? Instead of :rpgcodex: though, I was thinking  for the design.

And while I think of it, do we want to do Codex USBs again?

That's some high level advanced negotiation, Mr. Enterprises, and yes, I would give my left kidney for a Codex USB stick.

Also, a LOVEstick would make a good counterpoint to the previous HATEstick, for when we have to show that other emotion.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
But you have done this several times before right? Why would the 6th time be the one that triggers MONEY LAUNDERING ALERT!!! ?

I can't wait to find out how (un)reasonable paypal customer support is.

They do it at random. I once got a similar thing on account of buying the same shit at the same time i did the previous few months. They wanted a photo ID (lol) and I sent them an angry email which resulted in a quick review after which they decided they don't need my photo ID after all.

This is what happens when you raise $11,000 and send it off:

At PayPal, we regularly review the accounts of our customers to monitor their account activities. This helps us ensure a safer environment for our customers to transact online and enables us to provide more proactive customer service.

In a recent review, the following activities were observed on your PayPal Account:

■ We don't have enough information about the payments that you're receiving.

We need to know more about your business. Your account is now temporarily limited for further review. Please take the following actions to complete the review:

■ Provide the following contact information of your supplier(s):

That's exactly why I don't do business with PayPal. There's a good dozen of alternatives around by now.

Yeah ok, I'm now looking at alternatives to PayPal. FFS they sent me this shit again, only this time they have locked down the account for sending money, and they've addressed it to someone with an Asian name I've never even heard of. I'm hoping the idiot doing the form fucked up and entered his own name in the wrong box but that doesn't leave me with a happy feeling.
