I guess horses are fine. But they feel so "vanilla" compared to exotic mounts like dinos.

Guess it depends on what flavor you're going for. I am a Knight and every knight needs a trusty steed. Saving the dinosaur for my druid.

Might go Sacred Huntsman or Cavalier. Might end up going Cleric by the end of this... Who knows. War Horses are cool though. Read about a horse lifting a man by his stomach once and ripping out his entrails.

They are basing the game on Western RPG system, they are intended to sell it to the Western audience, the whole their promotional campaign is in English, they force their employees to speak English instead of native Russian. They are in the West, and they are afraid of Western Hóng Wèibīng's. If you want to look at the studio who does not even think about the West look at Morteshka game studio.

If OwlCat really wanted to please modern woke crowd, they would make a 5E game, with pronouns in character sheet and other BS like that.

While western devs are only interested in Children's Online Daycare and Overwatch clones, Russians are making great games. The best mods also come from Russia like Returning for Gothic 2. It has a google translate translation to English, the mod was originally made in Russian.

to be fair, I do understand the appreciation of the Knight and horse archetype.

While it is undeniable that replacing horse with "exotic stuff" like dino is awesome....you do lose some of the original feeling when you change the ole Tried but True archetypes.

It's a mix. The weakness of the SJW propaganda is that it doesn't stand up to the usual standards of empiricism of good writing so those committed to being good writers will betray it sometimes despite themselves. In other words it takes work to maintain.

Gamergate was six years ago now and the idea that woke games will sell on their wokeness alone (the impetus behind Gamergate) has proven iffy at best. Now there may be substantial funds in pushing the Poz apart from sales (from NGOs tasked with lowering TFR, say, or now with the new Chinese restrictions who knows what they've been up to) but at least the greedy fucks are no longer as into the Poz from a purely pecuniary perspective as they were then.

Is it possible you will make a Might and Magic style side game since you already have the combat framework of it?

  Legend and Gold Dragon do not have their own Spellbooks. I'm not sure about swarm. As far as I know Lich and Angel are the only merged spellbooks.

Now that is truly disappointing I hope Swarm will at least get a spellbook because otherwise these late game paths look unappealing.

Does necromancy automatically mark you as evil in this setting? Or is the allignment based only on decisions and actions?

I played Kingmaker and feel like I should probably know some of this but I can't fucking remember

Well Legend is about not using any Mythic abilities at all. In exchange you need less exp to level and can level up to 40.

Gold Dragon lets you get full BAB and raise all your stats and stuff. They're just different than the other paths but even more radical in some ways.

Thanks for the links. Having looked at the wiki a bit, I think I'll pick Mad Dog Barbarian for my good run. At least that way I'll get an animal companion, and barbs are just fun characters anyway. Then I'll do an evil run some day and do lichdom properly
