Or combining Feyspeaker with Sylvan sorc.
I'm not sure if going double animal companion classes won't bug it. You could go empyreal sorcerer plus defender druid, though (bonus points for being a dwarf :D).

Can someone tell what type of enchanted backstabbing weapons are available in chapters 1 & 2? I can't decide which weapon skill my thief/mage should take.
thief mage don’t need weapons.
they backstab with spells/canttrips.

Does DEX or INT affect the hit chance if you try to backstab with a spell? Or is it dependant on whether its a touch range spell or targetted ranged spell?
Ranged Touch Attacks are ranged attacks against the enemy touch AC, and is thus affected by Dexterity. Intelligence never enters into the equation, under normal circumstances.

I tried out grabbing a Divine Hunter level with Happynegro, and the AC scaled accordingly, so it seems that levels stack together properly. Or at least they can; there's no guarantee it'll work for every combination, something might be fucked.

Any thoughts on multiclassing Harrim to 4 Cleric/1 Sacred Huntsmaster (Inquisitor)? He gets a Mastadon pet companion, which fits him lore-wise I feel, and also gives an extra animal to throw on the front line with Valerie. I am speccing Tristian to be 100% Cleric, and he's good at that, and I feel Harrim could be more of a Fighter or work on another class. I thought about multiclassing him to Fighter which I did in my last playthrough, and it worked well as he got good BAB increases and became more of a damage-dealer, but I already have Amiri and Jaethal handing out excellent damage with Precise Strike + Outflank. Harrim can still heal with Channeling Energy plus he gets 2 Inquisitor spells, so I get an extra slot for Bless and an extra slot for Cure Light Wounds for party management. I dunno, I'm a bit torn on it but I think by leveling up the Mastadon long-term it could be an interesting build for him. At level 5 his BAB is +7 and he's using the Greatclub +2 for 6-15 damage, while still being able to heal a bit. Any thoughts on this somewhat strange combination?

Anyone? I'm going to use Tristian if I want a real Cleric but I'm wondering if investing enough levels to get a decent Mastadon companion is worth it when I'm using Harrim. I do lose access to level 3 Divine spells at this point, so it's probably a bad idea...? And for some reason I don't see any Judgment abilities for him. Does he have to be using his deity's preferred weapon?

Wouldn't your pet only be lvl 1 though? And even you were to keep on leveling him as an inquisitor the pet would still stay at minus 4 level?

The pet is level 1, yeah. But if I invest more levels into Inquisitor after that, I can at least level it up to become decent with +8 STR, etc.. But I'm not seeing Harrim having judgment abilities, maybe that's a bug, and I'm not sure if it's really worth it to do. Right now he's gaining a potential animal companion and then a couple more casts of bless per day at Inquisitor level 1.

Harrim as 4 Cleric/1 Tower Shield Specialist seems better. He can be more of a tank-ish type then and still cast, rather than making Valerie the only front line tank. He'd at least be able to absorb a bit more damage than Jaethal and Amiri for sure. I can get the Flameguard shield for Valerie and then give him a decent tower shield and enchanted weapon, and we level up again soon so he could get a 5th level of Cleric and level 3 spells. I think I might go with that build instead, just to switch things up a bit from pure Cleric since I already have one of those.

You really need to bring the pet up to around 15th level to get the most out of him, and it's better to have full progression.

Yeah I see now. I think I'll go full Cleric with him as well, and just make him a burlier Cleric with better shields and a good heavy flail. Thanks for the responses.

Bug or user error? I don't seem to be able to select a second active style strike for a level 20 monk.

Might want to consider giving him some feats in School specialization. Since he has good wisdom he can get some real nasty numbers on those DC rolls. Especially if you were to give him a particular cloak...

There are good Heavy Maces in the game, I recommend using that with him.
I wanted to use Battleaxe with my Harrim but I have yet to find a magical one, while Heavy Maces that I get are up to +3 already.

It annoys me so much that there are no Divine Feats in the game, so if you have shit Charisma as a Cleric, Channelling has practically no use, and Paladins can't do anything worthwile with their Channelling either.
i think hospitaler can remove exaustion with channeling.

Paladins can do that via Mercy with lay on hands.

That's what the Boon Companion feat is for, no?

What school would you propose for him?

As I've already mentioned, I'm quite partial to Necromancy for Harrim since Transmutation/Enchantment should already be covered by Octavia. Furthermore there's a artifact cloak that gives +2 DC and +2 effective caster levels to Necromancy so you can cast some pretty viscious stuff with it.

PS. As someone whose primary interest in D&D are second edition games like IE games, the concept of backstabbing with a great sword is... unnatural.

don't get hung up on the word stabbing mebbe, you're just hitting a less protected spot full on b/c he can't move to catch your blow

hope that helps your autism

New builds updated boys

still need to flesh out the new additions, but you get the idea
I see you were using combat trick multiple times on one character (the bard). I really hope they patch this sooner rather than later, it just doesn't make sense.
Yup, like I said if they patch that it's going to dramatically change that character, heh

It is a level 8 spell. What did you expect? Also, the rod is from a standard source. But if I remember right, you need to have the feat to use it. Still, pretty powerful item in general. I am happy they put it in there, I just hope that they fix the requirements.

Also, everyone loling this game for balance does not understand D&D. D&D is not about balance. Not by a long shot. And to add that wizards are 100x more powerful in PnP than in this game. The stuff that makes them so has nothing to do with combat per se.

No, it all works just as written. Because someone wrote it like that.

30 seconds stun no save ggwp "60 cone

But if I remember right, you need to have the feat to use it
lol of course not.

just activate all three for maximized empowered quickened fireballs.

higher levels ones only allow 1 active tho.

there are 3 tiers of rods for everything, except I believe Heighten.

Also there are reagent belts, one of them makes all your level 1-2-3 spells extended and maximized.
