Using firearms along with non-Pokes was somewhat strange, but having the discount-Pokes work hard in a factory, or even used as shields was hilarious. As for the slavery bit, people ranting about that non-sense in-universe usually change their mind quickly when one of the monsters they're defending tries to eat them, and/or they realize that capturing these beasts is the only way for humies to survive against the feral monsters overpopulating the world.

How can people even consider to buy these games
Similar to Harvest Moon before Stardew Valley, the license holders are not meeting the needs of the playerbase, leaving room for financially viable experiments.

Meh, being a open world mmo ruin it.

Looks more like dragon quest builders or slime rancher.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I love how you can use your pokemon as human shields in gunfights. Love the scene where the player char uses a sheep-pokemon as a shield, then tosses it aside

:hmmm:

I've rewritten this post some 2 times already, even though I haven't posted anything
I really don't know what to think of it, so I'll just get on to the questions...

Why make it a shooter?
I mean the core appeal of Pokemon's combat is building a team of cute creatures with good synergy between to fight other pokemons
Making it a generic action game with AI "summons" doesn't seem something that can be properly sustained for very long

Also what's the goal?
Pokemon is simple is this regards, beat the best trainers in the land and complete the Pokedex, done
Considering the footage of the trailer, this seems mostly to be some sort of survival-crafting game, and the player makes his own goals?
I don't if something this "vague" and open-ended can work with the Pokemon concept

Also, some of these designs borderline rip-offs
Can't they get in legal troubles with that?

You underestimate the power of memes.

I mean if dogecoin made me $500 last month, why not?

Comedic masterpiece. It's like a vindictive fake-game parody brought to life.

Probably going to be asset-flipped shovelware or one-step removed, but I'm optimistic. They'll need more flavors of cruelty than all those associated with run-of-the-mill slavery though. They ought to let players selectively breed Fakemon so that in return for beauty or strength, they get more and more congenitally defected. Like designer dog-breeds or mill chickens.

That... looks interesting. Most likely it will be a janky, buggy piece of shovelware, and it looks overscoped as fuck, but it looks like there’s a slight chance of the game being bonkers in a good way.
Too bad I fucking hate the Pokémon art style.

Looking at the video I imagine the main cause of death for melaninated minorities are fakemon fly-by shootings

Had to watch a couple of times just to process everything. At 0:49 the 'Pal' wields its own machine gun. At 1:02 the player character flies away with a cage full of penguins, and there's a bunch more on the ground with their arms stretched towards the sky like they're reacting to the horror of their families being kidnapped. At 1:05 and 1:07 the Pals look visibly sad as they're condemned to hard labour. The only way this could get any juicer is if you loot the body of a Pal and find a photo of its wife and three kids.

The Steam Page description is equally cheerful. :D

- This world is full of dangers such as food shortages, harsh weather, and illegal poachers. You must be prepared to do anything if you want to survive. You may even need to consume Pals sometimes...

- Do you want to build a pyramid? You can have a large number of Pals work on the construction. Don't worry; labor laws won't be applied to Pals.

- It is essential for automation to let Pals do the manual work. Build a factory and place Pals in it. They will work forever as long as they're fed until the end of their lifetime.

- With Pals, you'll be safe in dangerous areas. If you are in danger, you use Pals to cover your escape! They'll give their lives to protect you.

- Endangered species Pals live in the hunting prohibited area. If you sneak in and catch them, you'll get tons of money! It's only illegal if you get caught.

Will they follow the recent trends and add a buck breaking mechanic?

Or do I have to wait for Cloud Meadow to finally fall apart and re-appear as yet another overfunded porn patreon?

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign
Game got a new trailer and some updated descriptions on steam. Looks like your slave factories have pitboss like overseers that can punish and even kill your working Pals. Also supposed to have working multiplayer. Still not sure if it's just a meme and vapourware, or an actual product.

Japan-Man make game with uber capitalism, modern industry, LSD trip of colors, animal fetish, kamikaze combat techniques, and a story that makes absolutely no sense.

I don't see the problem here. Japan does this with every game.

I still find this all really funny, but they're gonna have to do more than put out a few gag-trailers for me to entertain the notion that this is going to be a real videogame.
