HocusDoom, pretty much a perfect FPS adaptation of Apogee's platformer. The combat can get repetitive - that's one thing that didn't benefit from "faithful" transition into FPS - but the thing is damn fun in short doses. And it's yuge and gorgeous to look at.

The thing with Doom is that the sheer amount of content released means it is impossible to keep it all in your memory. Then there's the question of all the older stuff that I do remember as enjoyable but since I've played it so long ago I cannot say how it holds up. Again, the community being so prodigiously productive, you are too busy with the new releases so you rarely if ever get to replay anything.
