It seems that I have found the culprint of my connection issues: Cogent. More specific, Cogent's recently started cooperation with Netflix and the lack of net-neutrality in the US. Cogent is getting handsomely paid by Netflix to route their content throught their infrastructure, which has led to problems for US providers, since Cogent is known for operating at maximum capacity of their hardware. Apparently every STO/NWO player being routed through Cogent suffers from the same problem as me: between 8pm and about 10.15pm, no login is possible and playing is pretty much impossible.
I don't have to wear my tinfoil hat to connect the dots here: Cogent is giving Netflix users priority during Yurop peak time, while the rest can wait to be served. Tonight I am going to try a proxy server, hopefully that will remove the issue.

Seriously, fuck Cogent.

• Resolved a slow memory leak in the game client.

fucking hope it works this time around ...... since 2 gb of ram used by client and then hiccups when fucking companion an enviro sounds are constantly played evertfucking 5 seconds is annoying as fuck

Got myself the book from "Shores of Tuern" for the boons yesterday. Turns out it came from the extra chest you have unlock the key for and not the normal one. I feel a little stupid now for not seeing that coming. I also wonder if the dragon book dropping from Tiamat herself is actually a bug. Would make sense if that the extra 10+ days to unlock the key is not just for an extra chance to drop equipment, considering that it can also drop if the hoard level is just high enough...

Given that the second Tiamat boon takes the previous two books as well and a fuckload of Favors, I think they removed the book from chest drops for Tiamat out of mercy.

I am amazed that some people here can enjoy the game. I found it rather lackluster, especially in PvP.
