i hope they improved scale of battles and size of battlefield.

Doing 500vs500 in Prophecy of Pendor even with upgraded AI in that mod was usually one big clusterfuck.

Still nothing beats routing attack on back of enemy positions with your elite knights when your footsoldiers create inpenetrable wall that protects death dealing crossbowmen...

Best M&B battles were 100vs100. 300v300 almost every time degrades into a battle of attrition and galloping in circles, becoming a chore, plus chances of survival in a 300[300 battes were minimal. Yet in 100[100 tactical maneuvers could decide a battle

Siege weapons look impressive. I hope as a defender you can try to sally forth and try to capture and defeat the invaders.

Gameplay video

No release date.

Yes don't show us the effects of the catapult. Or else we'll understand it's a fucking scripted time wasted that just blows a hole in the wall in the same spot.

Probably sieges will be down to two or 3 options : Catapult, Scripted holes appear after waiting like a retard, assault. Battering ram and siege tower. Battering ram is scripted and unstoppable, just a fucking time waster again. Same for siege tower. Ladders, only thing that might be stopped and fail. The fast option.

The developer got lazy around 2008 and the game barely changed since then. Of course those who have wasted 5000 hours on warband multiplayer (wish I was making this figure up), will argue that there's major differences because the thrust was altered and the exploit of accompanying your swings to go faster became a feature or whatever nonsense.

When I watched the video I was surprised to learn turning with swings for more damage and shorter swing time was intended.

edit: Looking closer there seems to be no eyelash options. The eyelashes are WAY too prominent on females to not be adjustable. It isn't Saints Row 3 bad (easily one of the bigger issues with the character creation there) but they're way too groomed for the setting.

Another bar set to make multiplayer a nightmare for anyone who hasn't spent hundred of hours learning how to do it.

I have literally played Warband Multiplayer once. Combat in M&B without an army just doesn't interest me.

I was thrilled by the idea of having the army of AI replaced by an actual army. But then you jump in any game and any 1vs1 melee last about one seconds until the mouse warriors does something you don't even know how to do (old exploits turned ''features'') and you're just dead.

But that's competitive multiplayer for you. It's gotta be complex so it has to be a fight with your own physical mouse and keyboard to make it work. At least that's the solution they found. Could have been more laid back but lol casual are evil.

That has been a part of the Warband physics system for ages. It might be more complex in Bannerlord, but what you describe is already a thing.

Yeah that's why the Napoleonic Wars multiplayer addon is good, it allows you to bypass melee and go full rifles and canons and shit, it's actually fun to play.

Deep in your subconscious mind spreading lies.
I still remember playing mount and blade original beta. Back when there was only two factions and no kingdom armies, just patrols, bandits and caravans. From then on it was mostly modders who did anything, occasionally the developer would drop by steal some ideas and code, then 'update' the game.

Gotta say most of the crap they say now about M&B2 just sounds like the usual PR crap. Amazing deep NPC, amazing deep story, choice and consequence, amazing deep tactics. Bets game eva!! Believe!!!

Chances are it will be dumbed down with gathering/crafting and console release first.

I'm pretty sure it was in the original M&B too (I've long used it to beat tournaments at low level). I'm just surprised to learn it's entirely intended instead of one of the game's many quirks.

Doubtly, especially because 95% of all sieges in M&B happen with overwhelming number superiority.

Which was needed to take the damn fort..
I used to just stand at the single opening in the wall where the seige tower was and swing a claymore over and over before they could get over the lip..

I Single Handedly could kill 50 - 60 before a few started sneaking through.

Hahaha, those Rhodok crossbowmen. Jesus fuck. Let's just say I never tried to siege Rhodok castles. I still remember the horror the first time they slaughtered my 100 mamlukes on the ladder.
