What are the odds of it looking close to this?

but the hints don't all appear at the start, which might force you to do multiple backtracks
I don't know if it's GC exclusive, but by the time I was able to reach the Artifact Temple, only 3 of the Chozo Totems didn't give me any hint.
Iirc the hints shown depend on what artifacts you've already found? So if you've done a real bad job of finding any before it becomes the main objective, you will need multiple runs?

I only played the GC version.

What hints are you guys referring to? It's been a while since the last time I played, but I don't remember in-game hints for finding stuff.

When you investigate those chozo totem, they give it a hint of where the artifact is. This is for the Artifact of Strength: "The heat of Magmoor was a test for many warriors. A Shrine in their honor holds the Artifact of Strength".

Ah ok, I remember that now. I thought you guys were talking about some kind of pop-up hint.

Never finishing MP2 is one of my greatest gaming regrats. A mistake I fully intend to rectify when the time comes. I don't care so much about the 3rd one. Like somebody in here said earlier it looked too gimmicky and just sort of meh.
MP2 is another masterpiece. Put that Dread bullshit down and play it now. As a DkS 2 lover, I think you'll appreciate it, as it's not as tight or iconic as its predecessor, rougher around the edges, but makes some interesting changes and additions, as well as being bigger. Compared to most else out there, it's a shining diamond.

Leaving aside the commercial compulsion to sell it again does it really need a remaster?

The semi-cartoony style of the original has aged gracefully. A high watermark for clarity in visual presentation.

Hope there's some restraint applied if the rumours are true. It'd be a shame to muddy up the visuals with modern post-processing effects and realistic lighting techniques.

I would love too! Let me go digging around all the local landfills so I can find my old Gamecube and I'll boot it up immediately!

Dread has been growing on me btw. I love most things about it except for the E.M.M.I robots. Those things happen to be asshole cancer and drag the game down a peg or two.

Some parts of MP2 are great (like the screw attack, the high tech area). But the corrosive atmosphere, boring weapons and some other things drag it down a bit. It does move the formula forward enough that it does feel a bit bad going back to the first game afterwards, since you're missing out on all those improvements and cool powerups.

I hadn't before and wish I hadn't now. That's ghastly.
Still so baffling. They remade the ONE game that has absolutely perfect, timeless art design with its genius cell-shaded simplicity.
Wind Waker, the original, looks spectacular to this day.

Metroid Prime also looks amazing, like 5 years ahead of its time. These visor effects...

"Remaster" means anything these days. I doubt it's simply improved resolution. I'll be pretty disappointed if that's the case.
