ABOUT THIS GAME

A building under quarantine. Residents isolated. Those who failed to isolate themselves now stagger through the corridors, contaminated. But it's not just the infected residents—the darkness conceals other anomalies. It feels as if the building itself is alive.

Trevor Henderson’s new cursed images: creatures in LURKS WITHIN WALLS
Trevor Henderson is a renowned horror artist, best known for his viral creations like Siren Head, Long Horse, and Bridge Worm—monsters that have captivated audiences and become icons of internet horror. His career has been built on a talent for crafting surreal and grotesque creatures that blend the familiar with the nightmarish. Each of Henderson’s designs seems to emerge from the darkest corners of our subconscious, evoking primal fears.

Also known as Slimyswampghost[www.instagram.com], Henderson first gained widespread attention through his online illustrations, which often featured cryptic captions and grainy, vintage-style photographs that made his creatures feel eerily plausible. His ability to tap into modern fears with classic horror techniques quickly established him as a leading figure in contemporary horror art.

His work has heavily inspired community-driven storytelling across various media. Fans are drawn to his unique ability to turn everyday objects and environments into harbingers of terror, making even the most mundane scenes unnervingly threatening.

Now, Henderson’s terrifying visions find a new home in LURKS WITHIN WALLS. His signature creations, with their distorted proportions and haunting presence, add an entirely new dimension of fear to the game. As players explore the dark and decaying environments, they’ll encounter Henderson’s twisted monsters—each one a test of survival and wits. With his expertise, LURKS WITHIN WALLS promises to deliver the kind of spine-chilling horror that has become Henderson’s trademark.

Recently, we asked Trevor Henderson’s fans which creature they’d love to see brought to life in our game. After an overwhelming response, the winner was clear: the Three-armed Aberration! This grotesque creature will be lurking within the game, blending Trevor’s unsettling design with our eerie environments. Brace yourself and get ready to face its deadly presence!

We are not stopping here, as there’s many more monsters to come. Now we ask you: which creature you would like to see in LURKS WITHIN WALLS? Let us know your favorite in the comments.

And if you are a Trevor’s art style fan, consider following and adding LURKS WITHIN WALLS to your wishlist. For more of his art, join our Discord Server and follow us on Social Media[linktr.ee].

Sounds interesting, but I wonder how marrying turn-based with horror will work out. There was one attempt (World of Horror) and it turned out to be underwhelming.

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Shown during yesterday's Media Indie Exchange event:

Dive into the oppressive, dark corridors of LURKS WITHIN WALLS, where exploration feels as suffocating as the walls that seem to close in around you. Each step through these cursed environments brings an overwhelming sense of dread, as flickering lights and faint whispers warn of horrors lurking just out of sight.

The game is a unique approach to survival horror with a strategic twist. Armed with limited resources, the turn-based combat demands careful planning. Every move matters as you face grotesque creatures brought to life from Trevor Henderson's haunting imagination.

Get ready to immerse yourself in an unforgettable blend of strategy, atmosphere, and fear. Try the demo now on Steam and wishlist to stay updated!

Being able to calmly count every pixel of the "horror" isn't particularly scary, that's for sure. They need to work around it somehow.
Depends what kind of horror they'll go with. SKALD was turn-based, and worked well as a horror

Demo is a very bare-bones 15 minute affair where you go down a linear set of hallways. It's short to the point where I'm questioning if I missed something. Combat is very simple [select between 3-4 weapons that are basically the same, select 3-4 body parts to hit to apply debuff]. Fighting has no impact or tension whatsoever (or difficulty, just spam arm attacks to cripple incoming damage).

Presentation is alright, the dungeon crawler scheme actually fits a horror game pretty well. Got a SCP-vibe going for it, which is super common these days.

This is very much at an Unity prototype stage. Will be interesting to see if it fleshes out more, but the demo is hardly worth a download at this point.
