The recent release of Rance VI has whetted my appetite for more quality Eroge, also known as Hentai games; specifically, those with a quality of gameplay on par with the *ahem* artwork.

The problem is, I think I've played them all.

This thread, modelled after aweigh's excellent Wizardry thread, is meant to determine whether that is in fact correct, whilst serving as a compilation for those neophytes who have yet to experience the greatness that is the Japanese sex game market.

Why should I care you ask?

What if I told you that your yearning for a decent JRPG, SRPG, and yes even dungeon crawler could be easily sated amongst this collection of games, some of which have been out for years, right under your nose, as you debased yourself with lesser Western releases?

What if I told you your daily masturbation ritual could be incorporated into the manchild addiction that is videogames? Making you twice as likely to shame your entire family when they find the contents of your computer?

What if I just shut up and get on with it.

Feast your eyes on what I consider to be the best on offer (that I have personally played and can vouch for/no blind recommendations) [*Now including additional recommendations by fellow Codexers*] and feel free to add any I've missed.

*By necessity and with sensitivity to the lingual proficiencies laziness of the average Codexer, this list includes only those games that have either been professionally or machine translated.

**By personal choice, this list EXCLUDES any game which is only available in some butchered form, i.e., with H scenes/other adult content removed lest a corporation make slightly less money young child learn about the world a little too soon.

***By my vague understanding of forum policies/the legal system, this thread will not include download links for the actual games themselves. Be positive and think of it a personal challenge of resourcefulness. Or just buy the games like an upstanding consumer of fetish pron.

****I have also included links to the Japanese wiki for each game where available. Because goddamnit!

*****I have additionally included links to any related Codex LPs and, when available, reviews/descriptions by fellow Codexers

SPOILERS INCLUDE GAMEPLAY SCREENSHOTS!

32505.jpg

Description:

Bunny Black 2 adopts similar mechanics of its predecessor, with some polished old systems such as the improved dungeon-crawl aspect, less redundancy in available units, and better unit-development system, to name a few. There are no more weapons or armors that Dirks can use anymore as any accessories that you use, will apply to everyone in the team.

While the game mostly stay true to its roots, Bunny Black 2 also offers a new quest system, an option to upgrade your castle and resources, and special points that can be used to support you while exploring. Bunny Black 2 is essentially a revamped version of the original Bunny Black, not necessarily all-positive, with further emphasis on exploration and grinding.

RANCE VI
(War and Piece) [PARTY-BASED DUNGEON CRAWLER LITE]
latest

17746.jpg

17748.jpg

35901.jpg

Descripton:

Rance VI -The Collapse of Zeth- (Rance VI -ゼス崩壊-) is the sixth installment of the Rance Series, released in August 27th 2004 in Japan. A new uncensored version translated in english was also released via MangaGamer on the 23rd December 2016.

Despite the fact that 5D was released earlier, Rance VI is usually considered the beginning of the new Rance timeline set after Kichikuou Rance, due to the much bigger scale of the game along with the fact that it takes place in LP0004, leaving the year LP0003 where Kichikuou Rance would have taken place as "the missing year", since the canonical events of that year weren't adapted into games. It was also from this point that many things of the lore and the setting were better established and given further detail.

VI is a turn-based dungeon crawler RPG with a unique system that limits the amounts of times a character can be deployed in battle per dungeon, forcing the player to strategically organize how to use the characters through each dungeon in order to get to the end with the most optimal party, since it features dozens of playable characters with a different skillset that work better for different circumstances.

It is often considered to be one of the best, if not the best, of the series due to its well-written and developed plotline, vast array of characters, fun and adicting gameplay and really interesting setting.

SENGOKU RANCE (My Glorious Days) [SRPG]
latest

4351.jpg

4352.jpg

8100.jpg

Description:

Against all odds, Sengoku Rance is not a bad game. While it lacks the depth of HoM&M, to say nothing of even more complex 4X games, it definitely has a certain board game charm to it. Even better, there's stuff like dungeon crawling and searching for magic items layered on top of the basic strategy gameplay. A kickass soundtrack doesn't hurt.

More importantly to the Codex, the game's replayability is pretty damn high. You're limited to 30 commanders, which means that it's impossible to try all different troop combination on your first run through the game. There's also only so much territories you can conquer before the main storyline kicks in, preventing you from gathering all unique commanders and seeing all of their balance destroying abilities in one playthrough. Also also, there are several non-canon routes that branch out of the main storyline roughly halfway through if certain conditions are met and diverge from the true route quite significantly.

KAMIDORI ALCHEMY MEISTER (Meisters of Sex) [SRPG]
24187.jpg

17421.jpg

17424.jpg

36633.jpg

Description:
It is a pretty generic jRPG, but also actually has really, really good (difficult) sRPG combat. For reference, this game's first tutorial level will probably hand your ass to you a half dozen times on Hard.

Matchups contain a really large number of variables to consider, with 7 elements (along with no element attacks), 2 damage types (physical vs magic, which makes a big difference as magical fire is different from normal fire so ice enemies with high physical resistance can still take no damage from fire attacks), range matchups (all magic/ranged attacks don't work in melee, where you can only sit and be raped helplessly, ditto for the reverse), and movement types (fucking ghosts that teleport through walls, ambush your casters in melee, then teleport back all in one turn. Also they take no damage from physical and absorb your health). You have to plan ahead a lot to make sure characters aren't in bad matchups, because the majority of battles (2-3 attacks from each character) are going to end up with someone dead. This is not a game of HP attrition at all, pay attention or die horribly.

On top of that, levels and side quests tend to be very well designed. Plenty of uber-high level enemies hang around in various areas and will smack your shit up if you come near them (or if you stay in their patrol route too long), but with really smart play you can overcome them early to earn materials needed to forge powerful weapons and armor. There's also a number of special levels that require special tactics to win. For example, one requires you to hold out against a ridiculous tide of ogres (think over 15 individual battles per turn, and you have to hold a 5-square defensive line) while a secondary team assassinates the head ogre. There are also special area bonuses for each area which can provide cash or unique equipment, so even the bog standard kill all enemies areas are worth completing once for the large first time payoff.

Character system is pretty simple. Level up, get +1 to a random set of stats. Kind of annoying how stat gains are randomized, but class upgrades every ~15 levels are the important thing that gives huge static stat increases along with new skills. Non-main characters all skill up automatically, while you and the 3 main girls get extra options depending on the clothes you upgrade (think of it as a switchable secondary class). Party members are pretty damn well balanced (at least until the endgame where your main characters become a bit imba). I found myself noticing that one character was starting to become unused and suddenly a new enemy appears that you need them to demolish, or their class upgrades and their new skills help them excel in a totally new area, or I found a new item that gives a completely new skill or new element that allows a more favorable matchup with common enemies. One nice thing is that you get XP just for being in a fight with an enemy, so as long as you are using characters you won't have many problems keeping everyone decently leveled. This isn't much of a grind game, though there is a "special" dungeon just for grinding for people who accept the shame of entering it.

There's also a shop system where you craft and sell stuff you find. Pretty simple, but it ties in well with the game so that no matter what you are doing you can probably either craft something useful out of your drops or sell it. You upgrade your shop with craftable furniture that unlocks more stuff for crafting, generates free items over time, or boosts your shop-selling powers. Pretty 1-dimensional but adds a nice sense of progression.

So yeah, give this a shot if you like sRPGs. Standard made-in-japan caveats still apply.

HIMEGARI DUNGEON MEISTER (Dungeon Racks) [SRPG]
28451.jpg

4877.jpg

4876.jpg

4873.jpg

Description:

Once there was a great and terrible Maou (demon king, 魔王) threatening the people with his army of monsters. A party of adventurers led by a Hero made their way to the Maou and challenged him directly. As they defeated the Maou, the Maou cursed that he would one day return and seek vengeance upon those who defied him, as he could never be fully destroyed.

The Maou's last words clouded the hearts of the adventurers. They decided that rather than defeating the Maou and have everyone live in fear of his return someday, they would seal the Maou and have the sealed Maou be under constant watch.

And thus, peace was restored to the land.

However, the Maou's soul was able to escape at the very last moment, before the body was sealed up. The Maou had one Servant Demon left, one so young and weak she was completely useless in battle, and thus had been spared the fate of the rest of the Maou's army.

The Maou will need all the help he can conjure up to help him regain his former body and glory. In the meantime, he's stuck with a temporary body weaker than an average human!

As the Maou, the player commands the Servant Demon Lily to explore a large dungeon. The dungeon is divided into stages, each of which spans a few dozen floors. As the game progresses, more units becomes available to the player.

Certain captured enemy units may be bound into your service, while all may be sacrificed for mana.

The flow of the game is typical of an SRPG, where the player and the AI take turns ordering their respective units around on the map. Either side may place certain map squares under their control, giving their side certain advantages.

Depending on the player's actions in the game, Lily's alignment can change towards "Law" or "Chaos". The two meters can affect the ending of the game, and may or may not affect how certain characters react to the player.

Lilly can also go through class changes: from a child-like body to a adolescent body to a mature body.

Description:
Ikusa Megami ZERO (aka Battle Goddess Zero) is the prequel of the Ikusa Megami saga (started in 1999, the prequel is from 2008). Developed by Eushully, one of the main H-RPG developers out there.

I haven't really played this saga and have only played around 2/3 of the game, but the gameplay is complex and fun enough and it doesn't lack the kind of content codexers love: Honorable paladin of Light MC, Loyal friends, True Love, Older sisters, lot's of consensual love and 0% sick fetishes or sexual confusion. If you are looking for bestiality, rape, dickgirls, monster cocks or mindbreak do a 360º and keep walking you sick fucks. [Editor's Note: *very heavy sarcasm*]

The translation (by er0gamr at Neohen iirc, the site is down half the time for me) is so-so since it relies quite a bit on machine-translation, but it's good for what it is.

Description:

In this story players will assume the role of an ancient fox spirit who awakens after several hundred years of deep sleep to find that possession of her lovingly made dungeon has been taken from her! As if that wasn’t enough cause for alarm, she has also been robbed of her power, leaving her weak and vulnerable. She soon discovers that it was a heroic knight who woke her from her slumber, and after a brief fight and “negotiation,” the knight decides to join her on an adventure to reclaim the dungeon! Together, they will unearth great treasures, reveal secrets and hidden rooms, and recruit monster girls to fight by their side...all while avoiding traps, fighting off dangerous enemies and bosses across multiple floors, and uncovering the devious plans of the new dungeon lord. One of the most important mechanics of Sakura Dungeon is the ‘capture’ mechanic, wherein the player will be able to capture monster girls they encounter and add them to their party.

Sakura Dungeon is a first-person dungeon crawling RPG set in a fantasy world where monsters and humans have been at war with one another for generations. However, a new battle is brewing....

In addition to dungeon exploring, Sakura Dungeon is also packed with extensive dialogue and plenty of gorgeous backdrops and cutscene artwork for the player to unlock as they carefully navigate their way through the dungeon.

2803.jpg

Description:

a solid visual novel / gameplay hybrid. For the time being, it's also the best gameplay hybrid eroge with an official release in English (not that it has much competition). For an MSRP of $45 you get over 50 hours of gameplay, and even more if you play through the game multiple times. (Or you can spend 40 hours reviewing it and get it for free, like me.) Fans of nostalgic text-heavy JRPGs like Ar tonelico, Agarest War, and Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky will undoubtedly be pleased, as will visual novel fans looking for greater interactivity. Hardcore visual novel fans looking for mature storytelling, players easily frustrated by difficulty spikes that can't be grinded past, and Steam gamers looking for a pure gameplay title should look elsewhere.

A Codexer's (Nostaljaded ) short summary:

- a 'free-for-all' challenging combat game
* Each unit can comprise of 1-3 characters which are then assigned to 3 different roles, Attacker, Defender & Supporter
* Each character will have their own skill sets & usage limits for each of the 3 roles
* By taking account of the turn order & enemies' skill assignments, you have to effectively manage your units' composition, dispatch routes, character roles and active skills to S-rank the stage

- an elaborate C&C resource management for characters' stat/skill customizations

- beautiful character designs

Tears to Tiara was the most boring game I've ever had the misfortune of playing and the sex scenes were god awful as well. The battle system was incredibly simplistic and got boring really, really quickly - this was not helped by the retarded level-scaling. What an utter piece of rubbish. So of course it has a sequel that's being translated. Of course. Editors Note: YMMV. As a whore for anything Aquaplus, I found the gameplay serviceable, if not above average, and the H scenes of a decent quality.

Better rpg than anything released by Obsidian in the past few years. Also western rpgs don't make anyone come. Also you might need to install the VX runtime if you havent played a game made with VX before.

Lewdgamer:
All in all, Virgin Island is about as good as you can expect an RPG Maker game to be on the technical and raw gameplay side of things, but what actually makes it worth recommending is that it’s very good porn; the many h-scenes and how they relate to your handling of Rifi’s chastity mechanic give the game replay value and are pretty well made by themselves. I wholly recommend trying it, and if the turn-based gameplay isn’t to your taste, here’s a save file with all H-scenes unlocked, courtesy of Hongfire.

Cool thread OP.

My favorite type of eroge are the dungeon crawling sort. I see you listed Bunny Black. Here's some others in that vein you might want to check out:

Demon Master Chris
Desire Dungeon
Lightning Warrior Raidy 1, 2, and 3
Monster Girl Quest 1, 2, and 3
Sakura Dungeon

Also Brave Soul is a classic, but more an action-RPG.

All the games I listed are available fully in English officially or unofficially.

Btw, there are a number of tools that can allow you to get your own automatic machine translation for most games, it can be an interesting option for the gameplay rich games.

I used to play a few games from Softhousechara. They have the most diverse type of gameplay in their games: management types, Dungeon Keeper clones, desert island survival types etc. Worth it if you can deal with moon speak.

If I want to fap, I'm not going to spend 20 hours crawling through a dungeon to do it.

You should be concerned with some degree of horror added that your brain has been so addled by the Biowarian romance model of an "earned" softcore sex towards the middle/end of game after rote manipulation of dialogue choices that you cannot even imagine the possibility these games are any different.

Nearly ever game I listed has some type of H/ecchi scene within the first hour.

Thanks for the recs.

I'll add Sakura Dungeon/Demon Master Chris and MQ.

I don't know if I can really recommend Raidy though. I've played them and the gameplay sort of felt non-existent. I only put a few hours in however.

I like my porn with gameplay :obviously:
This isn't porn with gameplay though. This is a game with some porn thrown in. Literally Witcher sex cards, only naughtier.

Just missing someone telling me how these explicit and detailed descriptions filled with various sea creature euphemisms for genitals are integral to the story and character development.

I haven't played a single Bioware game since KotOR, but nice try retard.

If I want to fap, I'm not going to spend 20 hours crawling through a dungeon to do it.

I like my porn with gameplay :obviously:

I'm sure you are one of those savages that prey on defenceless women with a bunch of likely minded console peasants ruffians in search of instant gratification and twich gameplay rape, then jump on the poor girl at realtime all at once like animals.
Unlike you, the true elite codexers always act like gentlemen.
We take our turns.

A turn based sex sim, that is an ocean of possibility right there. I would pay to see that.

Venus Blood is a series I would like to describe as "Turn-based Dungeon Keeper" and it's quite the in-depth simulation if the screenshot doesn't make it obvious - lots of abilities you can breed onto your monsters in order to build a solid team to patrol your dungeon and lead assault squads on your enemies territory.

The sexual content is pretty :prosper: though, mostly involving impregnating women through tentacles for monster breeding.

Too bad it doesn't have any English translations, but I think some of the games have wiki translations for the gameplay parts.

A thread for games with gameplay + h scenes, and the added criteria of being English translated...
Like finding balls in a haystack, should be able to cover most of them.

Not sure how this was missed out:
Seinarukana - The Spirit of Eternity Sword 2
Fantasy cum High School dialogue dump

Eng (18+): https://jlist.com/jast011
Steam (all-ages): http://store.steampowered.com/app/445430/
VNDB: https://vndb.org/v26

All-ages prequel: https://www.jastusa.com/games/aselia-the-eternal.html
Jap has 18+ version
Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/445420/
VNDB: https://vndb.org/v74

Announced all-ages sequel: http://aselia.everlasting-corp.co.jp/
Should be in Steam too as the official web has Eng language
VNDB: https://vndb.org/v18176

Should keep you expanded for 1-2 weeks.
As above, it's a bleak outlook for eroges with gameplay in order to maximize revenue.

If you are that into eroge, as mentioned by TheEntitledOne, at the min learn to use text hookers (& their name-replacement functions) for auto-machine-translated texts.
Decent quality for games VNs with conventional writing style.

I hadn't played Seinarukana but if you recommend it I'll add it. In fact maybe write a short synopsis/description? :shittydog: I'll include a shoutout.

I've dropped it partly due to the high-school dialogues and partly having difficulty S-ranking after 6-7 stages...
Try it, you will probably curse like it

It was a while back so can't remember exactly the game mechanics, will be a disservice to it.
What I could say is that it has:
- a 'free-for-all' challenging combat game
* Each unit can comprise of 1-3 characters which are then assigned to 3 different roles, Attacker, Defender & Supporter
* Each character will have their own skill sets & usage limits for each of the 3 roles
* By taking account of the turn order & enemies' skill assignments, you have to effectively manage your units' composition, dispatch routes, character roles and active skills to S-rank the stage

- an elaborate C&C resource management for characters' stat/skill customizations

- beautiful character designs

Probably someone else will be able to provide a proper description.
Fake edit: Descriptions in the wild you have added in OP are better than mine. :)

Once the list gets longer, think will be a good idea to sort them according to their original release date for easy incline/decline/outlier identification. And then have a changelog below to have their title names sorted by 'their date added in', as per your current order.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Monster Girl Quest trilogy has a sequel: Paradox. It's less linear, party based with races, classes and all that stuff, lots of customization, lots of turn-based combat
made with RPGmaker but oh well
Part 1 is out and largely translated.

How can you not include the King of Gameplay Eroge, Kichikuou Rance?

Great OP, but you missed Himegari Dungeon Meister, the predecessor to Alchemy God Meister. Same combat system, but IMHO it's a lot harder and all about exploring a dungeon and capturing monsters (which you sacrifice for SEX MAGIC):

Sadly, the translation is machine made... but you can understand everything.

Ahh the cycle of life, didn't the "the translation of wapanese games" thread originally start as "translation of fapanese games" and had this purpose, but since that's been corrupted with non h stuff its probably worthwhile to make this one.

The first post of the old one even uses drog talking about h stuff as the kickoff.

Anyway, can't wait for this to become a sticky thread, for multiple reasons.

Did you have a link to the machine translation by Nekohen? I scoured the Internet last night but couldn't find a thing
