This. He is still in control (at least for now), so killing him (or trying to do so) makes no sense and will only end up in getting us blamed.

We took the lives of the corrupted guardsmen in our background, but that was because we had no other choice. We have one here - the Inquisitor said he has beaten this thing and we can believe him and find out what he learned instead of jumping to the grimdark option.
