It's this what makes life worth living. Get back home tired as fuck, drop on the bed, take your laptop, and read the deranged soviet adventures of a bunch of pixelmen.
That said, if the first updates are a signal of things to come, we're gonna work on Terror From the Deep replacements rates.
The best replacements rates.
HONOUR TO THE FALLEN, GLORY TO THE PARTY AND TO THE ETERNAL LEADERSHIP
Oh shit, oh shit, IT'S BAAACK!!! Grimwulf , so happy to see both you and this LP! If the glorious KKK will survive the aftermath of the battle, and if I'm not to late I would've liked to participate, if the kolony would have an open vacancy.
Stainless Veteran
Gender doesn't matter, if male, then
if female, then
Background: Glorious Nu-Soviet Military. From the young age Stainless Veteran was taught that there's no greater happiness then serving the Motherland in battle. The world Nu-USSR 1961 had quite a big plans for its neighbors - glorious Party wanted to bring peace, prosperity, take from each according to his ability, and give to each according to his needs - all through the way of military conquest, of course. At first Nu-USSR succeeded, and its military won many victories (and took a few defeats, though any true communist wouldn't talk about them). Although they were paid by the sacrifices of 1961's sons and daughters, so there were always a need for fresh meat patriotic young citizens. Stainless Veteran had shown an affinity for sniping, a sure aim, and being cool under enemy fire. Although being a respected and proved soldier, the squadmates and brass sometimes whispered among themselves that something wasn't quite right with Stanless'. So the a significant portion of that little free time Stainless had spent tinkering with drones and other assorted automata or helping at the hospital with the wounded. All things comes to an end though. Instead of accepting peace, prosperity and compulsory labor, neighboring planets acted like true capitalists - they bribed a part of Nu-USSR's Party, and so the Party brass turned against each other, and the planet 1961 was engulfed in bloody chaos. Military took heavy losses, one of which was Stainless Veteran - bionic parts, burns, concussion, you name it. Disillusioned, instead of going down with the ship, SV fled to an uncharted world.

Careful Shooter if possible
Updated the Red List with new volunteers and stuff (you can check it in the bottom of OP). One last update for this weekend is coming up tomorrow.
That reminds me. I'm gonna post updates every weekend, most likely two or three at a time. This way men will have a chance to vote for KEY CHOICES. Besides, a Soviet man gotta work.
Initial party was carefully designed and fine-tuned by yours truly, starting with apperance and traits, ending with clothing and weaponry. All thanks to EDB Prepare Carefully mod, which lets the player set up the initial party in every possible way. How do you think you got this trait?
Wow, Kalin survived. I absolutely expected him to be an hero. I suppose raw squirrel gave him luck +10. Maybe he should eat it before each major battle.
This will be a glorious citadel of justice and equality.
Built on the bones of the innocent-- wait, where did that come from? Gotta get some some sleep.
Azira, Kalin! See if you can fix some prisoners into working shape. We could use cheap workforce right now. Oh, and don't you dare wasting my medicine!
What should we use then?
Your imagination, Azira.
I am no freakin' doctor!
Then torture them until they get better - I don't care! Where did I put dat... *searches through his pockets* Must have dropped them. I'll be right back.
Found you! Come to papa.
Meanwhile.
HEY! Where do you think you're goin'?
*clubs escaping prisoner with a rifle* Nice try.
What's going on here?
He fell.
Gotta watch your steps around here, lad. The road can be treacherous. Fortunately, we have a doctor extraordinaire with us - he will patch you up in no time.
One hour later.
*looting dead bodies* All this gear is so... medieval.
Better a sturdy sword than broken gun with no ammo.
*sigh* Whatever it takes to bring glory to KKK.
Hmmm.
This one's basically dead. No point in wasting my time on her.
AZIRA, you fuck! Where are you going?!
Grabbing a snack. It's breakfast time.
Oh, you go have a meal, Azira. Bon fucking appetit! I'll do your job myself, no problem! IT'S NOT LIKE I HAVE ANYTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT, RIGHT?! RRRRAAAAAAAAGHGHGH!!!
Shhh. I want to listen to the prisoner moanings. It's almost like music, don't you agree? An infernal chorus of dying capitalism.
You are worse than Grimwulf!
Heh heh heh. *Scratches his neck* Itchy.
Meanwhile.
Beautiful.
This place is rather cozy indeed.
Disagree. It desperately need modifications. More turrets. More walls. More power.
I HEREBY CLAIM THIS UNHOLY LAND AND EVERYTHING THAT STANDS ON TOP OF IT!
Gonna build me a colony here.
Shall we check the houses?
Ironwood. This shit is hard as my own dick. *opens door* Nice.
Is this some kind of prison cell? Where is the furniture?
Furniture is a waste of resources and time. There is a bed - two, even. You can sleep.
What if I want to relax and chill?
Ever tried to make mortar shells? Very relaxing.
Will you look at THAT!
Steel. Wood. Blocks. Salt. Tobacco. Canabis. Shrooms. Gold! And other stuff! Look at all that shit I need to distribute between myself!
Between yourself and..?
Less talk, more walk. What do we have here?
Found barracks for Azira and Kalin.
Come on, Grim. There's enough housing for everyone - no need for barracks.
We work as one and sleep as one, Nelson. That's how communism works. What else do we got?
A PRISON! Noice.
Reminds me of that cell where Azira tortured me to death.
He was trying to save your life, Sparkles.
Don't give me that crap. We both know what kind of person your brother really is.
*grumbles* Wish I could have a prison for annoying ghosts. *opens another door*
These people are weird.
Still better than our original colony.
Servant's right. This one isn't drenched in blood and lacgirl's vomit.
Yet.
Do you think she will come back from the dead to barf everything around?
You never know. *creepy chuckle*
I don't understand. What were they doing with their time? No factories, no work stations, no nothing.
I noticed some structures built into mountains.
Perhaps you will find your answer inside?
I swear, if I see another liberul hiding inside, I will bash him with vodka to death... OH! Hello there, barrels!
So... brewing, eh? That's what this town is all about.
The BEST kind of town.
Brewing, drinking and fighting.
That's life, men.
A BUNKER! One thing I missed in the original KKK.
I can't imagine what did these people hide inside that bunker. I mean, they were clearly preparing for an apocalypse of some sort.
Food, medicine, supplies?
Nu.
MORE BARRELS FOR GLOOOOORIOUS BREWING!
*facepalm*
I think I already know what I'm gonna find in the next room.
A BAR! You got NOTHIN' on me now, Apocalypse! Bring it on!
A weird town for weird people. I can work with that. I can tell you how to make this place less shit.
The area is defendable. Not impenetrable, but defendable. You need walls, need power. More power.
Doubt I can make a power generator, Servant. My skillz are rusty.
Start with walls. I see a simple way...
Won't require too much building materials.
Tsk, two steam geysers are left outside. We could use them for geothermal generators and/or greenhouses.
True. There is a HARD way as well.
Orange line is our main defensive position. We can build trenches, moat, minefields in front, all kind of stuff.
The area in front of that wall is basically swamp and water.
Difficult to traverse. Wet. Wet is good.
I like it.
It's a long shot, Grimwulf. Maybe you should consider both projects? Inner and outer walls?
This dilettant speaks wisdom.
Aye, something to reflect upon. We'll get back to it in the near future. Nelson, I need your knowledge of the land. What do we know?
I would never settle here, that's for sure.
Too high, too cold. Crops won't grow outside of greenhouses. You can find limestone, granite and marble around. Boreal forests are generally attractive for wildlife, so there is that. Plenty of wood, naturally, although newly-planted trees will have to struggle for survival, not to mention growth. There is a road leading to this place, but it's a long way and a dead-end. I doubt we'll be receiving a lot of caravans. If we plan to send expeditions outside, we should do it during Summers. Once that region is covered in snow, travelling will be basically impossible. Are we absolutely sure we want to settle in this place?
Yes. It is perfect.
*psshh* Hope I'm not interrupting anything. Grim?
*psshh* I'm busy consulting with dem voices and dead people! Whaddya want, Azira?
The prisoners are dying faster than we treat them. My experimental method doesn't seem to work as intended.
Your METHOD, Azira? YOUR METHOD?!
Don't bother Grimwulf with details, Kalin. Let's just say my method involves a dead rat and some voodoo incantations.
Bring two prisoners with most promising conditions over here. If they survive, make them work for the glory of KKK. As for the others, leave them to die or some shit - I don't care. Over.
Grimwulf? Come in? OKAY then. *scratches his neck* Why does it itch so bad?
Off we go, princess.
*moans*
What? Waiting for me to apologize I smashed your nose? That's what you get for messing with Kalin.
Ff... ffffuuu...
What was that?
FUCK! YOU! *breaks free*
My, my. We got a FEISTY one here. I know exactly how to deal with that temper. *Raises his hammer*
CARE TO JOIN THE FUN, AZIRA??
I got my hands full, besides-- ARGH *drops down another prisoner after a sudden surge of pain*
Fuck. FUCK!
Suit yourself. EAT WOOD, YOU SLUT! *hammers Pacer*
*falls on the ground*
COMPLY OR BECOME COMPILED!!! *bashes the girl savegely*
That's what you get, bitch. That's what you get. *spits on the unconscious body* Ungrateful fucking cunt. You should thank me I didn't leave you behind.
Meanwhile.
*struggles to cope with the pain* There you go.
Feel yourself at home, if you need anything - do not hesitate to ask.
I'm sure you'll be fine. Sleep well. *walks outside covered in cold sweat*
*psshhh* Kalin, I need you to do something for me. Meet me at the central building to the north, will you?
*psshh* Give me a moment.
Stay right here and try not to die while I'm gone.
Hope my new home is ridden with luxury.
BARRACKS?! GRRRRRIIIMWUUULF!!!
Would you kindly shuddup? *clenches his teeth* I got a problem here, Kalin. The burn on my neck.
I am almost a doctor since this morning. Let me see.
Ew. Yeap, definitely infected.
Shit. FUCK!
How do I deal with infection?
Normally I would suggest amputation, but there is an issue...
Yeah. *watching Azira inactively*
... Kalin?
I don't know what to do.
Do something. We got any meds?
Only weird herbal ones. They are too far away.
We must stop the spreading. Do SOMETHING, Kalin!
Alright, alright. Here *grabs something from his pocket and puts it on Azira's neck*
Feels squishy. What is it?
Squirrels' eyeball. Couldn't force myself to eat it. It brings luck, though. Carried it with me during the battle. Trust me, it will help.
Speaking of food.
Gonna find something edible for both of us.
I'm gonna die, aren't I..?
You, uh, hold on there. *walks towards the door*
Kalin.
What?
What happened to the other eyeball?
Like I said, I couldn't force myself to eat it. Second time.
Meanwhile, a group of weathered traders dressed like sailors is approaching KKK.
Stupid Azira and his fucking infection. Hope this prick survives, coz I got a lot to say once he does.
No medicine AND no doctors. This is literally the worst possible time to get sick.
Found some food. It has no taste.
Gotta bring a piece to Azira, since I promised and shit.
Don't die.
Later that evening.
What tha..?
STAY RIGHT THERE, FREAKS! DON'T MOVE!! *psshhh* Grimwulf, you need to come out. NOW!
*yawns* Goddamn Kalin always crying like a baby...
Hm. Interesting.
Where did they come from?
I have no idea. Were they following us?
Just look at their... faces.
I got this. You go on with whatever you were doing.
*clears throat* I AM SUPREME KOMMISSAR GRIMBEAR WOLFBEARD, SLAYER OF CAPITALISM, THE GRAND OVERLORD OF EVERYTHING YOU SEE!! IDENTIFY YOURSELVES AND STATE YOUR BUSINESS.
*puffs his smoking pipe* Traders. Came to trade.
What a goddamn coincidence. We just came here ourselves.
*stares at Grimwulf silently*
The sight of all those corpses on your way here doesn't bother you? Maybe you'd like to know what happened?
*shrugs* A fight, apparently.
A fight? IT WAS A GLORIOUS BATTLE OF GUTS AND WITS! An ideological struggle between communism and capitalism, which ended up with BLOOD AND DEATH! And now, from the smoke of still-burning flames of war, YOU came.
Do you want to trade or not?
First you tell how did you find us.
We're done here, Dutchie.
*turns his back in attempt to leave*
*raises a bottle of vodka in a threatening manner* You have two options, friend. Either I break your skull with this bottle, OR we're gonna drink it it all up, sharing stories. AFTER THAT, I'll trade with you.
Let's go.
*hesitates*
*whispers something in Dutchie's ear*
*whispers back, arguing*
So? I'm not gonna remain sober for another minute!
I'll drink with you.
Good. *opens the bottle, takes a couple gulps, hands it to the trader* So. Who are you, people?
*drinks voraciously* Traders from a small fishing village.
Where do you come from?
Why?
*takes another sip, brings out a crudely-drawn map, points to a spot far east from KKK*
*takes a long look*
Grimwulf.
*mumbles* I know. Shuttup.
You said something?
Nuthin'.
Time to trade.
That bottle is still half-full, komrade.
*drinks from the bottle*
How long you've been living there?
Spent my entire life in Miskatonic. As did my father before me.
I... see. You must know a lot about this region then?
We try to keep to ourselves.
The ocean provides.
Tell me about other settlements you crossed on your way here.
*drinks the bottle almost to the bottom* Red Bascullo is a small fort of the Red Party.
Don't they bugger you or somethin'?
We pay them off.
*points to the west* The White Cave, where folk from The Crowned Town reside.
A civilized medieval society. *puffs*
*points to the next spot* This one is the Agency.
Eh? The Agency?
We don't go there.
And neither should you.
A dangerous lot.
Hostile to everyone they consider different from them.
Huh.
Normally we don't take the NE turn when travelling. We go straight to the Soviet outpost.
They pay a good price for food and leatherwork.
Good to know comrades are still fighting for communism. So. Why did you take the NE turn this time?
*finishes his bottle* Enough talk. Trade with us.
*begins unpacking bags and backpacks*
I'll be back in a moment. Need to consult with voic-- err, some komrades.
What a weird fucking bunch.
They creep me out.
And cannot be trusted. That spot he showed on the map, Grim. That Miskatonic village, which - as he says - used to be his father's home...
I know. It's right where we initially settled after landing on this continent.
There was no village there back then. Not even a road. What is going on?
MAKE YOUR KEY CHOICE
Communism is all about making collective decisions. To those of you who's new to KKK lemme explain the basics.
There are three types of voting polls: 1. Collective votes. Each member of KKK (recruited, not imprisoned, not exciled to Gulag) has 1 vote, even Grimwulf. But Grimwulf's vote is special. Grimwulf listen to the VOICES (followers of this LP) and votes as majority says. Other members like Kalin and Azira can vote however they please. 2. Personal votes. Some members of KKK might be given personal options at certain points. It's their personal decision to make. 3. Discussions. Both members of KKK and random voices can participate in free discussions on certain topics with no options to choose from. It results with Grimwulf choosing the best suggested course of action.
Collective voting
Current agenda: the prisoner situation.
Our prisoners are not doin' so well - gotta decide what to do with them. Skinar is basically dead.
Even if we waste enough medicine to deal with the infection (even then it's not likely to help), he'll die of internal bleeding. Nothing we can do about internal bleeding. We don't have any real medicine, equipment OR doctors. REAL doctors, I mean. RIP, Skinar.
Pacer might survive this, after all.
Unless she gets an infection too. Missing nose, toe and ring finger won't affect her working capabilities. Problem is, we cannot recruit her.
Hello friend could probably pull this off, but Grimwulf is not that good at recruiting to beat that 93% difficulty.
So, what are the possible options? Currently both of them are set to "no food" and "no interaction".
Skinar:
1. Execute.
2. Harvest organs (MIND THAT OUR DOCTORS ARE NOT COMPETENT)
3. Let him die by himself.
4. Whatever, just keep his body for emergency meat.
5. TRY OUR BEST TO SAVE HIS LIFE, THINK ABOUT THE PONIES - WHAT WOULD FRIENDSHIP PONIES DO???
Pacer:
1. Patch her up and force to work.
2. Patch her up and recruit (you can either try to recruit, or force her to work - not both)
3. Patch her up and wait for slave traders / ransom opportunity.
4. Patch her up and release. Coz why not?
5. Execute.
6. Harvest for organs.
7. Let her die.
Your own suggesions are welcome as always.
Discussions
Topic №1: the trading caravan.
A weird bunch of people to be sure, but we need to sell some loot. Potential profits would allow us to buy some stuff as well. So here is the full list of options (tried to make it as apprehensible as possible):
What do we need to buy? What shouldn't we sell under any circumstances? All your thoughts will be taken into account.
Topic №2: construction priorities.
Here you go with some layouts of KKK:
First and foremost, we need a shitter. A place to shit. There is no sublime way to put it, so.
Seems like dem liberuls didn't mind doing their stuff outside, behind a tree - well, we communists are too dignified for that. It's gotta be a small room not far from our dwellings with wooden latrines. WHO SAID "TOILET"? DO YOU KNOW HOW TO BUILD A TOILET? DO YOU KNOW HOW TO LAY PIPES AND SHIT? NO?? WELL, NO TOILETS THEN!!
Then we need a dining room - the current one is too far away. At least we already have a table and chairs, right?
Then we need a workshop, kitchen/smokehouse, storage, probably a better place for prison, sorta-town-hall for gathering, research "lab", some ideas on our defenses. We got sandbags on perimeters, but that just ain't enough. We'll need a freezer too, coz Summer is close and our goods will spoil outside, but that is not top priority right now. After all, we don't have that much food.
Just throw in your ideas on construction topics, I'll consider them all.
Personal choices
Kalin, see those melee weapons in the trading list? Pick one you like. Don't think about stats and shit, KKK is not about numbers. Just pick a weapon that will BRING GLORY to the Kolony.
Azira, it's bad. Really, really bad. The infection is currently at 40% (you die once it reaches 100%). Your immunity level is only 36%. You'll be treated with herbal meds, coz we don't have any other options. Second round of treatment will decide your fate, but all things considered, we can't do much at this point. Kalin is our best doctor now, and his medical skill is fucking 2. But hey, I got one last bottle of vodka. Will save it for your final hours.
So... how do you want it to be?
1. Buried in a grave.
2. Put into sarcophagus.
3. Cremated.
Grimwulf, I fit just perfectly! Sign me up please, coz there could be no soviet union without dissidents and trotskyites. Feel free to choose any skills and abillities, but please keep with Leo's line.
The revolution should permamently go on. One after another, the revolts should break the shackles of social and political bourgeois corruption. The party is rotting inside - and only the new coup could refresh it. Grimwulf is old and he is not the sufficient leader. The world should burn!
"One slav is a thug.
Two slavs are partisan squad
Three slavs are partisan squad and a traitor"
1. Kill the hopeless case guy. No point of prolonging their suffering.
2. Now that the traders have food, and the fact Azira might die, keep the other one alive and force him to work.
3. Basically sells those excess clothes, you need spare but not so much. Maybe buy same building materials and meat so time could be focused on rebuilding rather than gathering now that you are undermanned.
EDIT: do you hospitality installed? Maybe try to invite the trader and recruit some with grimwulf?
Prison labor mod allows to force prisoners to work. How it works:
1. As soon as prisoner recovers from wounds to a being-able-to-walk shape, that prisoner can work. All you need to do is make sure you check the respective option:
2. You lock up your prisoner in a cave or smth and mark some sections of that cave for mining. Prisoner will mine and produce chunks.
3. You put a stonecutter's table inside a prison and make dat prisoner cut stone blocks from chunk.
4. When your prisoner mines a 13x13 cavern, you can force her to dig a quarry.
5. Once the quarry is done, you can force prisoner to work dat quarry. The ride never ends.
Prisoners might attempt to break free, but we got Kalin for that.
Prisoners might lose their motivation to work, but we got Kalin for that.
Bottom line: you don't have to recruit prisoners in order to force them to work. BUTT, if you do attempt to recruit them, you cannot force them to work until they are recruited.
93% recruitment difficulty is a pretty tough case. It will be smth like 0,5% chance of success if Grimwulf is the recruiter. You are given 1, sometimes 2 attempts of recruitment each day.
I know what you all thinkin'. If we don't recruit prisoners, how r we gonna get new colonists? FEAR NAUGHT! This Chinese gentlemen here knows the answer.
I do have Hospitality mod installed. However, I cannot invite anyone - we are far too dumb to set up a comms console. We should have plenty of visitors in any case, and we're gonna recruit them all like there is no tomorrow.
Certain traders buy and sell certain things. You might have noticed that fishermen aren't interested in our firearms. But Soviet weapon traders might be.
You can sell prisoners and buy slaves from pirates and slave traders.
1. Kill
2. Force to work, then sell to slave traders.
I suggest buy all food, Neutroamine (need for medicine making) and Perodyne (Painkiller).
Keep heavy plate, 2 Knifes and 2 best arbalest - sell rest of crap.
Give some Perodyne to Azira - let him die high af.
I'll take that halberd, not a proper smashing weapon but it should be good for some peacekeepin' akshun. Still, better keep some bandits' hammers as backup just in case it sucks.
Also, calling major dibs on dat snazzy death plate armour!
For prisoners: gulag option, will be nice to supervise proles instead of haulin' crap myself.
For trading: couldn't care less.
Oh yeah, as for Azira, I bet he's just faking that infekshun thingy so he can smoke all the drugs for "medical" purposes.
Skinar: 4 (you can never have enough meat)
Pacer: 1 (in the previous version once I have recruited a pirate with 96 chance of failure, but that could've been a fluke, so at least she could work for a while, and then, if the kolony should grow, you can try and recruit her).
Traders: if you can build simple coolers, then buy all the meat, if not - some of the meat and Neutroamine and Perodyne. ThisNameIsFree is right, if lucky you can make medicine someday. Maybe. Buy some components two, if possible. Sell most of the weapons depending on their durability.
Force the noseless colonist to work. More rooms in the eastern mountains is always better. You might create a workshop in there or something. Also, I'd dig a tunnel from the base to old owners "dining room" (maybe reusing it as something else would be a good idea as it's pretty far away?)
Sell all that useless shit from bodies to the fishpeople. Also, grind the dying prisoner for even more meat. Rushing smokehouse might be a great idea with all of that and those 8 muffaloes to the east.
