The debut title for the studio will combine open-world experience with a rich story and innovative gameplay elements.
Innovative gameplay elements could be anything, but the other two points sound good.
Mafia was a pretty solid game.

Mafia is well placed in my Top Five Games so this should be interesting. I hope it is Bethesda they end up making nervous.

So people from two Czech developers came together to form another studio? Interesting! I always found it impressive that a tiny, ultra-marginal region such as Czech Republic produced the Mafia series and Operation Flashpoint series. Not the greatest of games, but not a bad track record either.

CryEngine 3 is great to work with, but it's a straight-up shooter engine. They'll have to do a ton of tweaking to build an RPG out of it. Definitely sounds interesting though.

Hope they don't waste a ton of time fucking with the visuals and put more focus into the meat of the gameplay.

Why did it take seven posts for someone to say this?

I don't know why they even bother with all that spiel. It's not like anyone expects them to say "It's a rather boring world with little story and ok graphics."

Anyway, maybe it will turn into something nice. Who knows.

Ya never know.

EDIT: Sorry, I should have worded that better and realize it sounds like I'm deriding your comment. I meant I don't get why hype machines use vague catch phrases and words like "rich story" or "immersive" etc etc

Especially "innovative gameplay elements" well... so what does that mean?

from comments:
Blah: Yet another FPS labeled as an RPG.

Daniel Vavra: Not exactly. We are trying to make something like House Od The Dead, but with less shooting and more movies. Its an RPG, becasuse it will have menu. :)

:hmmm: I'm quite sure that's just plain trolling, so hold the pitchforks

That is a joke, right? In any other industry I would immediately recognize it as such, but here I find that I cannot be so certain.

I don't think that's trolling even though it sounds like an incredible one.
It's the new developers. Welcome to 2012 bitches!!

95% of an engine is about graphics/sound/etc. Replacing the 5% that makes it an FPS engine with the 5% that would make it a TB RPG wouldn't be difficult at all, if that is what they plan to do. Licensing an engine is different from modding, you have full access to the engine source to make your changes. Its not like there is a glut of good RPG engines these days, and its an order of magnitude easier to modify CryEngine than it would be to create your own with the same capabilities.

I still except a corridor shooter though, just based on market demand.
