See, all the other "screenshots" to me look like they could be real, but this, the first one, is beyond suspect. And because of that I'm currently in the camp Fake Nigger.

First - is it common practice to have dashes in subtitles? That's supposed to be transcription of speech not a chunk from the script.
But more than that, maybe I'm being tarded here, but what the fuck does "set great store by learning" mean? It's a random word jumble to me.

Almost all the big game companies seemingly never release playable builds to journos pre-release these days.

People coping pretty hard thinking someone skilled in making 3D models and writing period dialogue would put in the effort to fake this to make a handful of people angry.

Occam's razor - one of the journalists playing the review build (released a month early) saw this and took screencaps to troll. Posted it anonymously because it's breaking the NDA.

Additionally, a bunch of people are spamming Vavra with it on the X asking for a statement. He's not giving one. Would be pretty easy to do if it were fake.

It could go either way, really.

I'm increasingly convinced it's legit simply because of the excellent reception to the game and we all know how journalists love to pick apart every little thing in an effort to try and hamper the success of a game that isn't peddling propaganda.

The character's dialogue is also a little too on the nose but at the same time many diverse characters do have the exact same smug and insufferable air about them with a very sanitised take on their actual culture.

Though I do think there's still a chance it is a well crafted fake from someone who is really committed to dealing some damage to the company.

I will agree that it is odd that the guy isn't confirming or denying it though - especially with how definite his former stance on such characters happened to be in the previous game.

If he's sold the company, like it was alleged in the KCD2 thread itself, and does not have a say in the production, I'd assume his contract could also involve a clause forbidding actively harming the company, too.
