If anybody is still playing this with master strikes enabled, then do yourselves a favor and disable that garbage. Details are mentioned in the prestigious codex review.
Masterstrikes are good, they let me spam block and do damage.
Also I managed to beat Bernard for it so I deserve Master strokes.

Never felt a temptation to become a dirty thief in KCD, considering how fast you can make money by just killing bandits and cumans. Even a starter horse has enough carry capacity to make you rich pretty fast.
I bought tier 5 horse yesterday, cost 2000 silver but it was worth it :D

So, I just made 5.9k from a single trade with armor merchant from a load I brought in after doing one of those Cuman camps from "Raiders" activity. Though should be noted I was also lucky enough to get ambushed on the way by 3 bandits that were also pimped out in pretty good gear, so it's more than just from one camp. Max Pebbles capacity was reached. Yeah of course highest tier horses are way better and I will be getting one sometime soon, just saying good old Pebbles already has a pretty generous capacity. You will get rich whether you will be upgrading horse or not. This is with default saddlebags too, didn't spend anything on horse yet.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

You will get rich whether you will be upgrading horse or not.
True but also unfortunate.

If you put in a mild effort (ferry a few loot hauls into the town, find a few ancient chests, speed-level lockpicking/brew footpad/rob traders) you can easily break the economy and become richer than the Holy Roman emperor within the first six hours of the game.

All that makes quest rewards look pitiful. For the sequel they should seriously curtail traders' cash or make selling expensive items very difficult until late game (after all if a no-name dirty peasant walked around a medieval town trying to sell an expensive armor that could only belong to a lord or some such they would probably whip him out of the town gate or hang him.

Oh yeah, make it so the player can't sell anything, that'll be fun. Let's also make it so Henry has a hole in his pocket so every step he takes, money falls out onto the ground and if you want it back, you have to pick up each individual coin one at a time.

Hopefully if the player can't sell anything and is constantly dropping all of his money, the economy may be spared from the savage machinations of rpg game gamers.

That is not enough. Henry wipes his butt after shitting with hands and if he doesn't bath often enough should die from a disease soon.

The issue here is that player effectively cheats with saves. Irl no one sane risks a hand trying to steal something from town. Nor someone would go and take multiple people on his own just to sell armor.

But those things also can be balanced by just introducing stuff that makes sense. Like wear. If you kill guy in armor then his armor is damaged, moreover in christian society wearing clothes of the dead should give you mental problems. Weapons themselves.

Finally, selling to shopkeepers in general is idiotic idea only made for games. Sure there are some specialized shops that take in loot but those usually don't take everything and they pay you shit. Shops are made to sell you shit not for you to sell them shit. Why would blacksmith buy some damaged used sworf from you when he can make his own.

This would effectively solve the issue. You would be able to sell stuff but you would need to find buyer and that buyer would buy single item from you and at massively reduced price.

Just make everything related to moneymaking more strongly tied to Speech or some kind of mercantile skill. Age of Decadence had that whole merchant class, more games should take note of that. In addition to knight Henry and thief Henry, we need a proper groschen-grabbing happy merchant Henry. Now there's really no need for that cause every build can just lug those 15x looted armors and swords to merchants and sell them.

There could be merchant demand system like in Underrail but that would lead to us filling some chest to the brim and it would take us weeks to get rid of all that crap. Maybe making armor repairs much more expensive or restricting best merchandise from merchants and/or best armourers and swordsmiths behind some fame, recommendation or richness requirements. Maybe just making damaged items sell for only a fragment of original price below certain durability threshold, its a hard matter to resolve but i think it could be circumvented by having a constant need to use large amounts of money.

Or, OR let the players break shit. I've heard about particular RPG, what's it called, Morroshit I think, and the most fun people have had there was by breaking systems left and right, not just economy.

Armor is already damaged that is taken from dead bodies and merchants already buy stuff from you at 1/10 the price.

Hmmm... you're right. This simply won't do. What if every time you attempted to loot a metal object, there was a 45% chance that henry would accidentally cut his hand and contract tetanus which causes a game over and formats your hard drive? I think this small change would prevent players from ever leaving the poverty that they deserve.

Got a quest with Fritz and Matthew where they want to go and kill bandits and soldiers or merchants that belong to people that razed Skalitz. They want to get rich doing that.. this quest is retarded. You need to kill a bunch of Cumans first to get their gear, why not just sell that gear and be done with it? It was Cumans that did it..
Also Fritz says he has no weapons and Henry standing next to him in Plate armor with many extra weapons says go get us all weapons?!
Who designed this quest?

The game isn't written to aknowledge your grinding and meta gaming. Also:

A bit naive to assume that's really their "plan" to get rich

It should be lol. You find them first in Sasau where not many are going to go straight and this is their 2nd quest so a bit father into the game. It can easily be expected players will come to this without starting gear and will have some money.

Love game breaking bugs.. game does not want to exit combat mode, not even when I enter another combat and then exit it.. I followed that knight on horse and then he attacked me and lost and then combat would not end.. this is main quest gamebreaking bug 6 years after release.. even Bethesda would be proud of this quality..

Their plan was to extort the local bandits and looters by pretending to be part of Sigismund's army, which is why they only need Cuman armor and not their weapons. Not only is that a lot safer than actually fighting them, but there's also very little risk of retaliation.

Would you guys recommend Hardcore mode for a first playthrough?
Wellllll fast travel is disabled in hardcore and this game has a looooooooot of walking/riding back and forth across the map for extremely minor things.

There's no levitation spells or super speed or teleporting or anything so you'll be moving at pretty much the same pace from the beginning to the end and the game is very long. Hope you have a lot more patience than I do.
