ABOUT THIS GAME

Introduction

run.gif

"Kill the Shadow" is a suspenseful narrative-driven detective puzzle game. You will play as the detective named Lucas and investigate a series of bizarre murders in different areas of the dark water city: the missing Master Ruan at the temple fair, the sudden death of the dog Lucky, the grudges at the Shipwreck, and the dismembered limbs in the sewers.

Find the lost memories of the city and piece together the truth of the city's division from ten years ago. Kill, judge, or even kiss (?) the mastermind behind it all.

"The Shadow", a strange creature attached to you that reads memories and reconstructs the traces of the deceased!

"Don't worry, Lucas, we're just using each other. You use me to find the culprit, and I, well, I love tasting those bizarre stories, hahaha!", says the Shadow.

Meet various characters in the city: the energetic girl with a camera, the elegant Agnes Ruan, the rumored goddess who can cast spells, and the elderly fish-selling lady. Discover the stories behind them. Encounter characters like the self-righteous Captain Theodore Wang, the father Griff and son Axel of Citou's family, and the deceased Master Ruan. Earn your favorite characters' hearts by numerous events!

The combination of 3D environments and 2D pixel characters creates a unique artistic style with a striking contrast between modern and retro. Explore a variety of diverse and freely explorable scenes: the dilapidated steel forest factory, the muddy shipwreck dock built on water, the Zhulong Walled City blending the fictional culture, and the bustling old city district.

The visuals reminds me of Shadows of Doubt. We shall see how much deduction this game will actually require.

Should be in adventure gaming, Chinese developers/publishers just slap the rpg label on every single they make for some reason: fmvs, simulations, strategy games, side scrolling adventures, point and clicks, platformers, probably racing games, VNs, et cetera.

First off, ot's quite interesting to see a chinese game with a main character named Lucas.

That said, the game looks great visually, but I'll keep my expectations in check. There are way too many chinese games out there that look great, but have few redeeming qualities once you get past their aesthetics (not to mention that they are often horribly translated).

I don't think there would be any loss of people wanting to buy The Last Night in the wake of this coming out, they are different genres this is a 2.5D adventure game (more akin to point and clicks) and the Last Night is a 2D sidescroller (probably more like Another World).

In the game, in addition to tracing the astonishing secret behind reporter Lynn's letters, players also need to restore the truth of the incident through various details hidden in conversations and even scenes. And by doing so, they can judge the stance represented by each character in the game. Through deconstruction and conjecture, players can explore the stories behind each character using the clues they have already mastered. The game has multiple endings. Every choice you make will affect the direction of the world.

In the demo version of "Kill the Shadow", players will learn part of the truth of the events by solving layer upon layer of puzzles through rigorous logical reasoning, they can also obtain a considerable sense of satisfaction. If you are interested in the game, you can add this game to your wishlist. Welcome to download the demo and try it out!
