The Diviner looks kinda interesting -- it's basically an illustrated text-based CYOA RPG:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1871839191/the-diviner

Its inspirations seem to be a bit all over the place though, from Wasteland and Fallout New Vegas to Diablo and Pokemon, not to mention Bioware-style romances.

I will wait before add this, by the look of it seems a scam to me or maybe is genuine retardation, let' see if proves to be something feasible.

Project lead vanished with the funds : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1871839191/the-diviner/posts/1097339

Difficult Decisions

Hey folks, you all have probably seen this coming. Over the past couple of months we've been working internally to try and have something for you - however, it is clear that it is not feasible at this time. With that in mind, we'll be holding off from any more work on the project for several months until we are able to collect ourselves and refocus our energies.

At that time, we may decide that the project is still not feasible, and we'll make decisions from there. Nonetheless, during that downtime, I will be looking into other paths that we can take to satisfy you - including both legal action or a partnership with a more established game development group.

Your support and understanding has always been staggering, and I want to thank you again.

Wildfire is a stealth platformer with environment interaction by Dan Hindes, the Sneaky Bastards guy.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dhindes/wildfire-0

Wildfire's environment is built with consistent, systemic properties. Any source of fire will burn anything flammable, and any source of water will extinguish any source of fire. Weather effects such as rain and snow change the way you need to approach a level by interacting with these properties. Levels are designed to allow players to craft creative solutions to problems - but enemies will react to the changes in their environment, too.

More Kickstarter Kickfailer drama, some guy kickstarter Zelda-wannabe game and has claimedly run out of money.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...sh_future_of_wii_u_and_3ds_versions_uncertain

Mhyre - Game Director for Midora and President of Epic Minds - claims that the money raised was "never enough to begin with", and that the issue is that more development talent is required to finish the game. The enigmatic Mhyre also states that his vision for Midora kept growing during development, expanding the scope of the game beyond what the amassed Kickstarter cash could support:

Midora is the kind of game that I have personally been dreaming about for years now. If you told me 5 years ago I would be working on such game, I would never believe you. The reason why Early Access has been delayed so much is simply because everything has changed. This is really hard to explain, especially when what you've seen so far doesn't even come close to what I have in mind for the game. I have a vision, and that vision keeps getting better and better. It also becomes clearer the more I work on the game with the team.

That vision takes a lot of time, and when I look at how much Midora has changed in just a year, I know for sure that we can beyond. I am not taking the game too far, I just want to create the perfect gem. It might sound insane to spend so much time perfecting everything or even starting over in some parts of the game, but that's just who I am, how I work, and I intend to make the best game possible. The story I began to write over 4 years ago is something that should be remembered, it deserves incredible action and gameplay, epic characters and battles, a fitting world with wondrous quests. I want Midora to be incredible in every way.

After three years of Kickstarter people are STILL doing this.

it all reminds me of the late 90's early 00's total conversion projects. Except now people give them money!

TLDR: So it appears this guy, Tharol Stephens, partnered with a games studio Evertide games to use his comic for a game. Someone from Evertide games runs off with the money. Asks for a list of the backers' emails so he can send them out something to try and compensate for them being scammed. Kickstarter refuses and refuses to help in any other way. He issues a DMCA to get the page down as it's a scam. Kickstarter sends an email to all backers saying they will receive what was promised, then links to the guy's address. Essentially, giving 2,000+ upset backers his home address.

My latest email to Kickstarter.
Dear Kickstarter. Let's recap...

I told you that the project was a scam that ripped off thousands of people in my name by taking their money, disappearing forever and forcing me to face everyone. I explained that no backers would ever receive any rewards or product. I asked for the backer list so I could send all of them 'something' to try and make this as right as I can.
...You refused to help in any way at all and told me to talk to the person whom you know disappeared forever with the money.

I further explained that none of the backers would ever receive any rewards or product and asked for your help in the form of advice, discussion or somehow removing or altering the scam project page.
...You refused to help in any way at all and told me to talk to the person whom you know disappeared forever with the money.

I sent you a DMCA take down notice, explaining once more and with great care, that no backers would ever be receiving any rewards or product.
...You took the page down and sent a blanket email to every backer, explaining to all of them that they will indeed be receiving their rewards and product. Then you gave all of them a link to a page with my home address on it.

I understand that I'm talking to a business and not a single person, but whoever is reading this right now, please think about this for a moment. You promised over 2000 people that they can expect the non-existent products that they paid for... that have my name on them... and then you gave all of them my home address.

Please stop this. I honestly can't take anymore.
-Tarol Hunt

Battles of Biomechanical Dragons in a Dynamic Sci-Fi Setting: The World of Zurit Goes to Indiegogo

Alive Games launches a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to fund its TPS/RPG/MMO hybrid combining a huge dynamically changing world to explore, evolving and unpredictable enemies, open-world sandbox reflecting decisions players make and a fascinating story to drive the plot forward.

The game industry is overwhelmed with typical shoot´em all games featuring no more than simplified mechanics, stereotyped characters and virtually no real pledge to the genre. Having tired of modern trends in contemporary game development, Alive Games Company aims to shake the market and develop a groundbreaking shooter/RPG game - The World of Zurit. Now, with this idea in mind, the company comes to Indiegogo.

The core principles of the game are dynamics, evolution and variability. Everything changes in the world of Zurit. The world itself evolves and reacts on players´ activity. Impersonating huge biomechanical beings powered by the mystical Zurit material, players develop new features and skills, upgrade their weapons and armored skin, fulfill tasks and make choices. Every choice matters as it will eventually influence the world. Every detail of surroundings is variable, and that makes the gameplay intensively deep and catching.

"There will be no two similar sessions in The World of Zurit", comments Oleksandr Bolkhovetskyi, a game designer at Alive Games. "Scenery, NPCs, skills - everything shifts and develops in the world of Zurit, and it is up to a player to decide whether or not he wants to be the one who changes the world, or the one who just visits it from time to time."

The shooter part of the game involves upgradable weapons, armors and special skills. However, there will be no pre-defined classes in the game. Instead, The World of Zurit lets players choose the line they want their characters to follow. Intellect or strength, protection or agility - the choice has a great effect on the gaming style.

Alive Games aims to raise $78,000 on Indiegogo. The sum will fuel up the development of the game for the next 18 months resulting in a functional alpha-version to be released. "Everybody wants more", concludes Olexandr. "We want more realistic worlds, more choices, more places to explore, more emotions. Our goal is to develop more than a game - an interactive world that will touch hearts of players and change their minds. That´s why we go to Indiegogo".

About

Alive Games was founded in 2014 in Ukraine. The World of Zurit is the first project by the company. Now a crew of four game-loving individuals possessing designer and programming skills, Alive Games aims to hire 3 more people after the Indiegogo campaign is funded.

Seems like KS won't do anything about it because that might make them liable. Thunt's IP is just going to have to take the hit as well as the backers. Would be better to move on. I'm assuming he contacted a lawyer and was told he couldn't do anything or that going up against Amazon's lawyers would be too timely and costly. I still don't like KS's behavior though. It just seems too easy to scam people.

I immediately though of HoMM4's dragon golem when I heard mechanical Dragon :
art_dragon_golem.jpg
Nice subliminal message touch at the end of the video where one screen kept flashing "you are important to us" to grab your attention.

I'm always wary of flexible funding campaigns and in this case they don't even have a prototype to showcase. They only include a couple examples of concept art (which are not even in the same style; the landscape looks way more polished than the dragon).
Also, there's the fact that they raised $0 in the critical first two days. :M
