This thing is oozing with style. Unfortunately I'm not the target demographic, but it's nice to see something new rather than the usual shit and remake of previously good games.
Exactly how I felt. I can see it's a well crafted game and has spirit, but it just doesn't do anything for me at all. I'm too old.

The guy is old, he's probably retiring from gamedev now that his studio have managed to churn out a successful title.

He's old but not senior citizen old. I think he's just gonna retire from gaming and pursue his other passions while he has the time and energy for it.

I tried this but I just couldn't get into the music timing based combat. It sounds fun on paper but is just tedious to actually play.

Played forty minutes. It's alright. I don't know. Feels kind of soulless. Can't put my finger on it.

Sighed and kind of thew my hands when I got to the upgrade screen. All the same, always the same.

My problem with it is that the music is not good enough. No one would snap their finger and walk in such a swagger to these lame beats.

Even though not struggling, gonna pour all currency into life gauge, because can't be assed to read descriptions of unlocks again. Practically every fucking game. Would say health upgrades should just be in the world, but I wouldn't upgrade the player's health at all and give them all abilities from the start (or only give abilities through story progression, not currency and tedious screens) if I made a game.

Think I'm gonna quit now that parry plays a role. Really annoying tutorials, by the way. Fail the tutorial and you have to start the area over again and tap/wait through all the messages again.

This game looks terrible, quite frankly. Awful zoomer character design with ugly PS2-era cel shading. They were better off making a straightforward beat-em-up with destructible environments or something. Or remaster the original Evil Within to run on a better engine.
