Good forums/platforms to talk about games besides codex?

Going on reddit/discord/twitter etc is like sticking your dick in a blender. What are some actual good (and active) forums or platforms to talk about games?

Preferably with people who have tastes above that of shit eating.

Something awful is still active, they don't have as hard of tastes as the Codex but they tend to be funnier.
SA is completely overrun by SJWs. It was one of the places all the internet shit started to leak from.;

OP, the question your asking cannot be answered in public. If I tell you a good forum a bunch of people from here will sign up and make it worse. The only way to keep a forum good is not to tell lesser forums about it.

Go to specialized communities, man. If you look for deeper discussion on general platforms you're gonna be disappointed.

But I'm not sure of a place like that either. You like Kenshi. So if you wanted to discuss Kenshi you probably have 2 choices: Reddit and Discord. Reddit works on a popularity system where anything controversial gets downvoted and eventually hidden away. This is not a good system for examining a topic from all angles.

Discord is usually moderated and it also breeds a toxic atmosphere for some reason where non-moderators try to moderate the chat and in general people are afraid to not take themselves seriously. Again, not a good environment for open discussion.

I guess the best course of action is just to be on Reddit and just be civil and realize there's a code of conduct and etiquette on how to discuss things.

If you want to go apeshit and fling shit at everything and everybody you can come to the codex to do so.

I haven't mentioned 4chan because I have barely used it but I imagine there is a big overlap between 4chan and the codex.

Whatever the forum you go to, you'll find people who don't like things that you like and you'll find them retarded soon enough.

This is where it's at. The last bastion of sanity on the Internet
we have users who are open about not playing any video games at all and only coming here to peddle the latest oppose the current thing hot take and to say NIGGER
Yep. Which is a privilege compared to the rest of social media, where 80% of "gamers" watch Youtube playthroughs, peddle the current thing, and ban words like nigger.

get real. having some retard who's found the true real truth about chemtrails on this website is not a privilege, unless you're addicted to lolcows, in which case 4chan is more up your alley

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
To discuss games as a medium and overall industry? I think there is no place now. All bigger forums are dead, all bigger gaming outlets suck publishers dicks.

Plebbit is not that bad, but only for smaller communities. Every bigger sub is pure cancer, guarded by "m'lady bois". And if game becomes more popular it always shifts into "normie" mode with pride moths and other shit.

Steam forums are surprisingly based sometimes, but still you can mostly discuss titles.

Based? Yes, but also completely infantile in the kindergarten poopoo peepee- way. A longer stay there gives me headache.

All efforts to make good arguments are drowned in waves of poopoo there.

For general gaming discussion, the Dex certainly is the best.

But there are still some good ones out there when you just want to talk about a specific gaming series.
