Nice for everyone who hasn't played this game yet, but I can't imagine myself buying this, since the game itself has zero replay value.

Drawing sprites over 3D models was a huge part of the Ghost Trick's visual identity.

Really liked the demo. Is the full game worth the asking price?

I would say no, but that depends on your regional price.

This game is actually fun, but it suffers from two problems. It is short and gimmicky.

On the short side, the major problem is that it is a series of stages, one after another. As such, which makes adventure games much shorter than the alternative. A free roaming adventure game will have you explore a large area and slowly come across the tools you will need to overcome the puzzles. When they are present as a series of isolated challenges instead, an adventure game that could otherwise have taken 10 hours will have a hard time lasting more than 2.

On the gimmicky aspect, I mean that the game doesn't feature a more generic kind of verb interface like traditional adventure games. This is not necessarily bad, Obra Dinn was gimmicky in that sense as well, but still managed to feel somewhat deep; probably because even though the challenge was always to infer the same stuff about each crew member, the way of doing so varied a lot. In ghost trick, however, the gimmick is much shallower.

At any rate, I think the game is worth 10 dollars, so I would recommend waiting until it is around that price range.

Is it really that short though?

Howlongtobeat.com states it's ~12 hours long.

The game has fairly atrocious EULA/Data gathering/sharing policies not Sony levels of bad but combined with the replacement of the beautiful animated spritework with 3d models makes me think I should just emulate it.

I think I took between 8 and 10 hours to complete it. It is not that short; but I actually tried every possible action I could see to see if I could find any secrets, even if the answer was simple. Also, that counts non-gameplay time as well, which is kinda long (maybe a third to a half of the total).
