This is a thread where you can list all of the games you have "on your plate", that you want to play but haven't gotten back to for one reason or another. Why make it public? For extra motivation! And lulz*!!

So, for me:

Currently playing Detroit: Become Human. Laugh all you want, but I'm finishing this cringe no matter what. I think I'm 2/3rds of the way in rn.

Need get back to and finish:

Ass Effect 3
Elder Nig: Shadow of the Erdtree
Witcher 3: Blyad & Whine
Lies of Poo

Other games in my library that I haven't played yet:

L. A. Noire
System Shlock (Remake)
Sekiro: Shadows Die Thrice
Deus Ex: Mankini Divided
Hogwarts: Legacy (might try for a bit and abandon if it's too ubisloppy)
Hitlerman trilogy (the new ones)

And finally, the first nine games on the following list! https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads/list-of-games-that-are-worth-buying-playstation-5-for.149417/

Sweet America, why is there so much stuff???

* lulz not guaranteed

I have so many half played games it would be futile to list them all. I kinda play a game until I get burned out or bored and then move on to the next one. Actually finishing a game is rare.

Anyway - I'd like to go back and finish Troubleshooter Abandoned Children, Hogwarts Legacy, Darkness 2, Harvester, Mass Effect Trilogy, and Elite.

Now - if anyone can help me find the extra hours to play these - I think I dropped them behind my 3 month's old crib...

My main objective is to finish all inifinity engine games, replaying them after a couple of decades or so. About half an hour to an hour each day, so it will probably take me longer than 6 months to finish SoD and BG2. After that ID2 and probably on to POE.

Man I'm horrible about actually finishing games. Lemme see:
- Space Marine (my copy got bugged after I transferred to my new machine, I think I will just reinstall and begin again)
- Civilization III: Rebirth of Civilization mod (had a Hub game I stopped)
- Crusader Kings III (need to get back to my Persia game)
- Fallout (I want to do a series replay but I keep dropping it off for reasons, like Et Tu getting a new version and wanting to reinstall)
- Need for Speed Carbon (I'm close to the end actually, I just kept losing this one race)
- Diablo The Hell (I got stuck on Andariel's dungeon)

Can't seem to build enough motivation to finally finish base story mode of Card-En Ciel. I enjoy the turbo weeb plot, the fact that every card has a voice acting and the card mechanics themselves.
Maybe the movement speed between ecnounters is too slow for me? I prefer the overall run flow of something like Monster Train more.

Same for Ctrl-Alt-Ego. I liked it but i don't want to play it anymore.
Discovered that the one thing that i don't like about imsims is that quite often you're not encouraged to play the way you actually want.
Like, you can find by accident a secret way to bypass a huge chunk of level only to realise "what's the point?". By using it you miss out on extra ego or upgrade worms. I ruined my own experience by autistically scouring the whole level multiple times each time i found out that i missed some worms. Did it until i burned out completely.

I played through most of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time as a kid, but always restarted before finishing it because I could tell it was going to have a sad ending and I didn't want to cry.
I'll finish it one of these days.

I really wanna finish the Yakuza series in the near future, and a bunch of GameCube games.

But I'm already behind with 2025, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Kingdom Come 2, that new Lonely Mountain game, Spider-Man 2 on PC, Citizen Sleeper 2, Ender Magnolia, and soon Avowed. I have to get through this before April at least. I refuse to balloon my 2025 backlog, I already have too much from 2024 to get through.

The only backlog consist of Red Dead Redemption- and that's it.
Still no time to play - too busy with Tarkov SPT project. It have fuckton of quests even when you skip most obnoxious one.

Wizardry VII + 8 - Played and liked both, never finished
Quake + Quake II - Played the first for maybe an hour, stopped and didn't continue
Baldur's Gate II - See Quake
Hitman series - See Quake
Marathon series - Never played
Dark Forces series - Only played (Jedi Outcast) as a kid, got two levels in before it got too hard and I want to revisit it
Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri - Never played
Deus Ex series (excluding the first) - Played Human Revolution, see Quake
Thief: Deadly Shadows - Never played
Heretic + Hexen - Never played
God Hand - Never played
Myst series - See Quake
Devil May Cry series - Never played
Gunstar Heroes - See Dark Forces
Alien Soldier - Never played
Light Crusader - Never played
Streets of Rage series - Played 1 and 3, see Dark Forces
Golden Axe series - See Dark Forces
Altered Beast - See Dark Forces
Metroid series including Prime - Only played and finished Super Metroid, which I thought was excellent. Played and dropped the first game.
Catherine - Never played
Icewind Dale series - See Quake
Sweet Home - Never played
Silent Hill series - Never played

So many games, so little time. I included some beat-'em-ups because when I was a kid, I went on a trip to Spain with my family and in some second-hand store I got a handheld console with a TON of ported Sega games on it. Mainly ported Master System titles but among them some great arcade ports including Altered Beast and Golden Axe. I've wanted to replay those games forever now, but I never got around to it.

After making some progress on my pile of shame last year I still have the following to finish in various stages of completion and the desire to still do so:

POE2
Pathfinder: WotR
Black Myth Wukong
Cyberpunk 2077
Alan Wake 2
Sekiro
Diablo IV
Elden Ring DLC
God of War: Ragnarok
Spiderman 2
Star Wars Outlaws

Countless others that I've made minimal progress on but would still probably finish if I had unlimited time.

Quake + Quake II - Played the first for maybe an hour, stopped and didn't continue
Would you mind elaborating why you stopped playing? Was it something about the game(s) as such?

Marathon series - Never played
I tried playing with the open source AlephOne port. I did not like how the controls felt.

Thief: Deadly Shadows - Never played
I've watched a Let's Play, mainly for Shalebridge.

Heretic + Hexen - Never played
I'm aware that these exist. I've not played them either.

Icewind Dale series - See Quake
Again, see question for Quake.

If (and when) I finish PlaneScape, I'll look at Baldur's and Icewind Dale.

No, rather I didn't give the game a proper shot. I was kind of absent minded, played through the first bit of the game and thought "I'll stop here for today and continue tomorrow" and then never did. It's not the game's fault if that's what you're asking.

I tried playing with the open source AlephOne port. I did not like how the controls felt.
According to GitHub you can customize them, was it an issue with which buttons to press or was it a game feel problem?

Again, see question for Quake.
I thought the first proper area, the Vale of Shadows, didn't have much going on in terms of interesting encounters or stories. I played through it being mostly bored and occasionally frustrated with the Infinity Engine and its jank, and the next area, Dragon's Eye, was not a marked improvement. I dropped the game at the end of that dungeon, it just wasn't an interesting or memorable experience.

Now I know what to expect in terms of design and content and I'm also slightly more familiar with AD&D, so I assume I'll enjoy at least the first game more. The second supposedly has a bigger focus on quests, I'm looking forward to playing that one.
