Akashi is pretty much a wet firecracker. +2 on all stat sound good, assist in capture unique female general sound good, but we almost always leave him till later and at that time he became pretty much useless. To make full use of him we have to march eastward almost immediately and get him soonest.

Finished my 2nd playthrough earlier, this time I went with Isoroku Route. Man, the ending is heart-warming, even if many of the events on the way are even more fucked up than during the True-path.
Finished my 4th full playthrough just a moment ago (I know, I'm a hopeless game addict. Sengoku Rance reverted me back into one. All after years of popamole :tearofaneagle. I must say that of all if routes Isoroku's ending is by far the most satisfying. I'm glad that I left it till my final playthrough.
Also, in this game I finally managed to get all Takeda Commanders and their family bonus, all on the highest difficulty setting
I agree. The ending warms a father's heart in me. And the huge war Rance is fighting is a badass way to end the game.
Too bad its an IF route, I would love to see the next game pick up from there. Though, I suppose a game about Rance fighting for something other then women probably wouldn't end up as interesting.

Usual day in the office.
*Between the turn*
--------------------------------------------------- Turn #49
As we start we get the “Get medicine” event from Asakura.
The only thing strange her is that you get this event after you clear Yoshikage. With Kenshi and Ai you got the medicine right after you recruited them.
Kid gets additional forces, again.
Anyway, our Blitzkrieg is going a bit slow. Time to speed it up.
Weak performance on my side, I admit.
FUCK YEAH! Here comes number two.
Quite an ironic battle, Nogiku and Orime fighting each other.
So after a tedious battle and not many reloads. Rance gets what he wanted.
The requirement for capturing Orime was to have Suzume or Kanami fighting in the battle (I assume at least they needed to fight, Kid and his Nuhe weren’t required). Stuff is just so fucking random in this game… just like in real life.
How direct.
Before most of you jump on the “what’s wrong with her head” and “shitty drawing” bandwagon, let me remind you that she isn’t human and well… just keep reading.
Rance is probably jealous of every other man in the world… he wants to be the best in fucking, which is understandable.
Her comes the climate.
OH SHIII-
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! (no pun intended)
Remember what I told you about “fucking with your life on the line”? This is one of them.
Normally I would recruit her right away but I have other more wicked plans, so I need every available unit.
We will attack once more.
What I’m doing right now is a gamble.
After this battle I’m left with 8 units (two of them would probably evaporate by the first strike on them). I just pray there will be only one counter-attack between the turns. If no, I will loss a strong point either to the Youkai or Houjou… on second thought I will just reload like usual.
So cute… totally needs a throughout fucking.
Last look at our remaining forces.
End of Turn #49
---------------------------------------------------
It was the sight of a huge gaping maw growing out of the back of her head that pushing him "over the edge".
That's...disturbing.
Speaking of which, I was just about to say: "All this wrapping shape-changing pussy action makes me afeerd that at some point one of these women will wrap her pussy around Rance's entire body. Nightmare fuel." And then this game throws this shit at us. Ffffffuuuuu

Well, to catch a (unique) ninja you use a ninja - makes some sense (not that much, but at least some), and it's not like it's a completely isolated instance of something like this happening in the game. Also, in comparison with the random bullshit required to capture Nogiku it's downright reasonable .
--------------------------------------------------- *Between the turn*
So I had to reload just once because both of the factions attacked strong-points that I couldn’t afford loss. After that Houjou didn’t move and the Youkai attacked one the Sado strong-points (former Uesugi province). I decided to retreat, no loss.
*Between the turn*
--------------------------------------------------- Turn #50
Another “get medicine” event at the beginning.
So without further interruptions – let’s fuck.
Yes, it’s as bad as it looks. Noir has high stats and with those 2150 soldiers her unit can pack a punch. Fortunately, after a few reloads I manage to get into position where I hit her first with my warrior and bring her unit to a reasonable size.
Even then I ended the battle with major damage in Kenshi’s and Leila’s units. Again, Nogiku was of immense worth to me.
T-69, runs on the lust
Those two are so worth each other.
Rance is a pretty cool guy, makes every woman his and isn’t afraid of anything.
Got to get them all. Three down, one to go.
Lets look up our prize, we will leave both of them for now.
We will take one more strong-point and by that conquer the territory.
Now this battle was horrible, many reloads and even thoughts about giving up for this turn.
With a lot of luck I managed to eliminate three enemy units by two “commander killer arrows” from Yamamoto and one “aim shot” from Yuzumi. Natori and Ran also dealt massive damage with their charged attacks on all units. Finally Aburako attacked with “Youkai Ward” which deals 3x the normal damage if used against Youkai’s.
Even then I early won.
Taking their time, I see.
Time to get an item.
Oh you two.
Scary shit.
Nogiku will get this item.
Oh what the hell.
I only need enough troops to defend against Houjou. The Youkai can’t do shit right now, they are in the same situation as the Wehrmacht under Stalingrad.
End of Turn #50
---------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------- *Between the turn*
So the Youkai attack the territory I just took from them. I won’t interfere. It doesn’t matter anyway.
On the other hand the Houjou didn’t attack, again. It’s starting to get creepy.
*Between the turn*
--------------------------------------------------- Turn #51
Event for the Edge-man.
Musket business, move along.
Having nothing better to choose I pick this for his upgread.
We also replenish our troops fro some serious cash.
Ranmaru gets a few additional soldiers.
So, time to catch the last one of the four Youkai wives… and then make her feel good
The trick here is to first and foremost fire at Omachi with everything we have got. Besides the usual chant attack that takes time she also has some kind of a right away spell that attacks my whole army and has enough power to fuck up my plans.
But do not fear, we are victorious once again.
What the fuck is this? Algea?
:fuck:
How do you expect me to fuck a stone?! Damn it!
Omachi is wounded and will need time to recover.
Oh yeah, “meaninglessly trying to compete”? Seriously, isn’t war by any chance the ultimate completion to show who has the bigger prick? I think it is.
Anyway, time to bail spider girl.
Another valuable Commander joins my army.
Next strong point anyone?
Now I’m getting interested. Why would you put a melon in a treasure chest?
Time to risk once again, lets just hope Houjou stays quiet as it did for the last two turns.
Looks like somebody is running out of troops.
Ok, now this is just strange.
What do I supposed to do with those?
End of Turn #51
---------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------- *Between the turn*
Unfortunately my worst fears came true. Both Houjou and the Youkai decided to counter-attack vital strong-points. Even after a few reload they were still keen on doing this so I had no other choice then defend myself with small numbers.
Kiyoko barely managed to hold out.
Kenshi was left with less then 150 troops and Nozumi’s unit was whipped out. Thankfully she survived.
*Between the turn*
--------------------------------------------------- Turn #52
Again Tanegashima’s event.
No upgrade for him this time because his “affection meter” was empty.
Oh god, 12k. But wait, there is still hope.
Thanks to many events as of now we have four “good medicine”. We will use one.
Much better.
So, time to work. Thanks to recruiting the three Youkai Commanders (the fourth one is a stone right now) we can get some crucial info that wil help us beat Masamune.
Those three lines about the girl with the long neck were not spoken out loud.
Now we are ready.
Still two strong-points left.
Now only one left.
Looks like this crab I could not avoid.
Time for the showdown.
OH JESUS! WHAT THE FLYING FUCK!?!
After getting owned two times I decided to got with my “castle-buster” formation.
I won this mostly thanks to the AIs incredible series of fuck-ups. I never see it fuck up this much before, it was almost anty-climatic.
So right now we are after hits here and there, Sill not only heals Rance but also gives him an action point. Masamune just used “tear-drop” and healed himself (he had 200HP)..
Ha, no more tricks under your sleeve.
I can’t fucking believe this, I had 300HP, instead of healing Rance with Sill I used her to attack the Youkai. The suddenly he attacked twice in a row and beat our hero.
Fuck, we lost and now in Alice-purgatory (On the left – Dark Alice, on the right – Alice). Here we have a chance to “Continue” or “GAME OVER”.
Let’s challenge him again, ok?
Fuck you, I’m starting over… OH NO, this damn battle again.
Now it was close, we were fighting by the skin of our teeth. Barely managed to escape defeat.
Again!
What? That’s all? We called on “tear drop” by the first attack and he went down in three. Madness.
Of course.
And so the Youkai King disappears… but don’t worry, he will be back, soon.
Some good stuff was left behind for us.
End of Turn #52
---------------------------------------------------
Forget about Houjou and blitz Mouri until you've left them one territory. Then vanquish Takuga in a series of uber quick blitzes (tautology, I know). Recruit all story related commanders on the way. Finally, finish off either Houjou or Mouri and be ready for impending shhhhiiii.....storm. That way you'll get most of the story elements which, I suppose, is a good thing for a LP.
Also nice job fighting Masamune at level 54 - that was brave (and stupid). Plus, you must have not used Sill's heal on Rance. Well, we all make mistakes (I love how the game is racist about them).
And one more thing. Never, ever use "fight again" option when you fail. I suspect that the game substracts them from a global variable (i.e. the pool of points that you used in this playthrough to e.g. recruit extra characters or buy more action fans) instead of the local one (the one displayed in System info). This way you lose points even if you reload. Because of that thing I got only 5 points after my first successful playthrough (even though you get min 10 points for finishing a route) as I used the option in my "failed" game a few times
Though, I think the game has to autosave before the change to the variable is recognised.
And clear Masamune asap. Omachi's so strong that having her is almost a cheat
Or start with Takuga. You share a border with them already anyway, so what the hell, and they do make a tempting target as the last gourdless house you can attack. Don't try to recruit Takuga captains at all costs, just recruiting their leader provides you access to most of their content and you seem to be running out of captain slots available. After Takuga deal with the remaining gourd houses, setting them up for an easy fall after the gourds stop mattering, but not conquering them outright. After that's done, choose one house that annoys you the most and finish them off.
I have no idea if Mouri will declare a war on you for your blitz against Takuga, but if they don't you should probably start dealing with Iga. There's two ways to do it (three if you had Gekkou, but you don't) - either straight up conquest or a duel with Inukai. Rance may have to be beefed up somewhat for the latter, so you should probably use your own discretion.
Mouri should probably go second (unless he declares a war on you beforehand). Try to uncurse Mouri Motonari - and if you want to show off, the final level of the dungeon where you uncurse him should let you do that quite nicely. Speaking of showing off in the dungeons, do you plan to go after Orochi in this playthrough? Because that I'd love to see. A honest victory against Orochi most likely justifies any amount of anywhere, so there's also that.
I wonder what your plans are regarding Takeda. It seems that declaring war on them last and then enabling their assasination event (though not actually doing it yet) just before you conquer the last province of a gourd house would appear to be your best bet, though on the other hand Takeda is pretty tough and depending on your previous playthroughs that event may even be not available at all, in which case it's either careful conquest or straight up cheating time. The former is obvious, the latter relies on you conquering Takeda by force, letting the game autosave and then reloading a previous save with the proper conditions now set .
And clear Masamune asap. Omachi's so strong that having her is almost a cheat
And yeah, this. You are really selling Omachi short - that second attack isn't just a regular diviner charge. By itself it seems to charge much faster and it definitely deals more damage. Used by Omachi with her stats it basically obliterates everything on the field. Omachi alone is enough reason to seriously consider building that diviner school later on.
It's lucky she never seems to start in the second row in the battle to capture her, because with her unit having >2k troops that could turn very silly, very quick.
EDIT:
(even though you get min 10 points for finishing a route)
You may be able to get Iga/Takeda and Mouri or Hojo at the same time, if you do the special events to conquer Iga and Takeda and conquer Mouri or Hojo the same turn, I dunno.
Omachi is literally powerful enough to win the game alone on easier difficulties. On harder ones, you might need to go through the trouble of providing her a single foot soldier to block
