Noticed something? That’s right, Torako has been recruited into the Houjou army and now fights against her former Lord (Kenshi). Quite a spin.

alcg1624.jpg

It’s possible to capture her but she isn’t someone I absolutely need.

Turn #46

Event-time on our side.

alcg1631.jpg

alcg1632.jpg

alcg1633.jpg

alcg1634.jpg

I would expect nothing less.

alcg1635.jpg

:smug: As far as I remember it’s always hard.

alcg1636.jpg

alcg1637.jpg

The last line is the start of a quiet conversation between Kou, Suzume and G3.

alcg1638.jpg

alcg1639.jpg

alcg1647.jpg

alcg1648.jpg

alcg1649.jpg

The party comes to a satisfying end.

alcg1650.jpg

Let’s start this turn by making new enemies… did I say enemies, I meant opportunities to fuck a whole lot more.

alcg1651.jpg

alcg1652.jpg

alcg1653.jpg

You people should know that Masamune is a totally groovy dude. I want to have him in my ranks.

alcg1654.jpg

Time to make something out of this kid. One manual to bring his Atk up to 4.

alcg1655.jpg

A few bribes so he will like us.

alcg1656.jpg

Finally, some additional troops (490>750).

alcg1657.jpg

Did I say finally?

alcg1658.jpg

alcg1659.jpg

alcg1660.jpg

The kid is persistent. Maybe there actually is a future for him.

alcg1661.jpg

alcg1662.jpg

alcg1663.jpg

Rance is a really cool dude. Rapist with a heart of gold.

alcg1664.jpg

We get Kazemaru to “Trust” but this is still not the end of his events.

alcg1665.jpg

We also get a lovely upgrade.

alcg1666.jpg

The last Fan goes to Attack!

alcg1667.jpg

alcg1668.jpg

alcg1669.jpg

Great! Another manual we will give to the kid.

alcg1670.jpg

A nice piece of ass you got there Spider-girl.

alcg1671.jpg

alcg1672.jpg

alcg1673.jpg

He sure does.

alcg1674.jpg

Before we finish.

alcg1675.jpg

Now we are getting somewhere.

It's well known that anything or anyone called Masamune, Hattori Hanzo or Musashi in Japanese media , is kick-ass.

No bro. His wives actually love him.

You know, as much as lulzy Sengoku Rance is I just can't help but admire how it mixes comic relief with actually quite serious stuff going on and how the seemingly unimportant but funny events when you look at a bigger picture, start to make different sense. For instance in the case of Masamune in a ordinary weeaboo H-game as a "male" would only serve as a pretext for meaningless H-scene. And this is seemingly what you get here. Here, though, the player gets to know Masamune's character, motivations making it clear that he is to become a formidable opponent (indicating also at a possible boss fight). Not only that, this scene along together with a couple of others contains very subtle hints about a way of obtaining info which would help with defeating him.

Not to mention that you get to see that Masamune is by no means a retarded pushover bent on world-domination but actually responsible and able leader concerned about the future of yukaii and their newly formed nation.

The same can be said about many other characters. Rance may be staying our favourite compulsive rapist with a heart of gold throughout the game but many other characters are clearly not made to be comic reliefs only(e.g. Takeda commanders, Asakura, Houjou Soun, Natori) - they frequently display a great deal of common sense and intelligence having their own, often unselfish goals and clearly defined worldviews. Moreover, they continue to play important part in the side stories after you've managed to" convince" them to join you. It is pure fun to, as your army grows, see previously hostile generals becoming significant figures in your ranks, which of course, may sometimes have more or less direct impact on the state of your empire or unlock extra subquests.

Takeda commanders
Not to mention that they are men. As in REAL MEN. 100% concentrated manliness and awesomeness which you don't see in any anime/manga/JRPG those days.

well, the first one is a legendary sword, the second one is a legendary swordsmith, and the last one a legendary swordmaster.

so they fit together nicely.

Then again, I'd have expected Ieyasu Tokugawa to be kick-ass too, and he got himself killed a long time ago.

I always found that funny. IIRC Ieyasu was like a total noob, losing to both Nobunaga and Hideyoshi pretty hard. The only reason he became anything was because in both cases he became their subordinate and inherited a large part of their kingdom when they died. I can see why they like him for being a leader, but he wasn't much of a bad-ass.

Him dieing is part of the SR-reversal. Ieyasu is a power hungry conquerer when in RL he was very crafty and careful, good about staying on the winning side even if he himself didn't perform excellently. Same reason why Nobunaga is a totally chill bro when he was still himself, contrary to his a very aggressive conquerer in RL. And him becoming a demon is a joke, as he was literally called the demon king when he started taking out everyone else.

Amusingly, I have read that perhaps Uesugi Kenshin being a woman is possibly NOT a reversal. Some Jap scholars looked back over records and found some stuff that makes it look like he was in fact a she

Turn #47

At the start we get Fuuka’s event.

alcg1682.jpg

Natori clear had a “o shit” moment but said that she didn’t know Fuuka - the plot thickens. Rance was happy that she didn’t recognize her, that “sex with a lot of man in the miko Ins.” was really pissing him off.

alcg1683.jpg

Let’s see our “System Info”. Still no characters clear, we will have to fix that soon.

alcg1684.jpg

First Fan – Satisfaction!

alcg1685.jpg

More affection.

alcg1686.jpg

Extra cash and a Def manual.

alcg1687.jpg

Hey kid! Catch.

alcg1688.jpg

Some minor recruitment.

alcg1689.jpg

We must move forward. For glory… and ass.

alcg1690.jpg

Dude, 6000 troops. He may have low stats but that number of soldiers can make a difference.

alcg1691.jpg

The dude is a real wall that doesn’t want to go down. It is possible to capture him but somehow I don’t have the drive to do that, probably the lack of tits and ass.

I did not know you liked Zone of the Enders, great game it was (the 2nd one, I can't stand the emo-faggot of the 1st one).

I've always been pretty fond of the nightingale story about them and Hideyoshi. If the nightingale won't sing :

Nobunaga : "Kill the useless fucker !"

Hideyoshi : "Use Persuasion Skill !"

Tokugawa : "Meh. I've got time."

He was called the Demon King because of the way he suppressed the temples, in one particular case burning the main temple to the ground. The thing was, the monks were a significant power themselves, so there was a reason Nobunaga did what he did (especially since the temple had been used in the past to give "retired emperors" significant clout), although he was incredibly bloodthirsty about it. His conquering wasn't much of an issue, except for how successful he was at it.

Insert clever insult here
Finished my 2nd playthrough earlier, this time I went with Isoroku Route. Man, the ending is heart-warming, even if many of the events on the way are even more fucked up than during the True-path.

That’s a bit pathetic army you got there.

alcg1696.jpg

What did I tell you?

alcg1697.jpg

alcg1698.jpg

alcg1699.jpg

alcg1700.jpg

alcg1701.jpg

Potatoes!

alcg1702.jpg

For someone who is attacking you got there a pretty defensive formation.

alcg1703.jpg

Even that didn’t help them to survive my purely-offensive formation.

alcg1704.jpg

Here comes the first wife… and falls down the stairs.

*Between the turn*
---------------------------------------------------
Turn #48

Event at the beginning.

alcg1705.jpg

Because she had a full affection we get a power-up. Btw, this girl loves fluff.

alcg1706.jpg

alcg1707.jpg

How seeing anything useful to choose I picked the “End-game” points. Those are two additional points you can get besides clearing her (which is another two).

alcg1708.jpg

Once more we bring the kids affection to full .

alcg1709.jpg

Then pick his event.

alcg1710.jpg

alcg1711.jpg

alcg1712.jpg

alcg1713.jpg

alcg1714.jpg

Besides this power-up he also gets a bust by 2 points in Atk, Def, Int, Spd each… totally radical.

alcg1715.jpg

Now he has become a real warrior, plus Hibachi wastes additional 50 troops.

alcg1716.jpg

We also give him a few soldiers, so now he has 900 of them.

alcg1717.jpg

Now we can go to war.

alcg1718.jpg

Now this battle was a real pain. Mainly because of Nogiku having “All Guard” (which defends both rows).

alcg1719.jpg

Damn, we didn’t catch her…

alcg1720.jpg

…no, wait. An awesome rule, got to remember this if I ever gonna decide to conquer the world.

alcg1721.jpg

alcg1722.jpg

alcg1723.jpg

This is how you fuck a cyclops.

alcg1724.jpg

I want to direct your attention for a minute to something else then the fucking. Mainly, the chain binding Nogiko, looks familiar? Bingo, it’s Hibachi’s chain. The one that she always carriers around with her.

I had to go thorough all the trouble of conquering Akashi just to capture this Youkai. Hurray me.

alcg1725.jpg

alcg1726.jpg

alcg1727.jpg

alcg1728.jpg

alcg1729.jpg

alcg1730.jpg

alcg1731.jpg

alcg1732.jpg

alcg1733.jpg

alcg1734.jpg

One down, three to go. The only problem I have at this point is that I didn’t get any satisfaction points for fucking this great ass.

alcg1735.jpg

Not waiting for anything I bail her out. She will be a great asset to our army.

alcg1736.jpg

alcg1737.jpg

alcg1738.jpg

Bastard :smug:

alcg1739.jpg

Time to get Asakura’s last event and clear him.

alcg1740.jpg

alcg1741.jpg

This develops each territory we have under our control by 1 “National Point”. From 77 we jump to 93. Now we don’t have to worry about recruiting Commanders.

alcg1742.jpg

We also change Asakura’s “Cance Guard” to…

alcg1743.jpg

…”Overtime”. Should be useful somewhere in the near future.

alcg1744.jpg

Open the Champaign.

alcg1745.jpg

Lets look at our objective page one more time.

I like how Rance seems he carries everywhere a porn magazine for "emergencies" like with that Kazemaru kid. Also, I think that now that Rance has humilliated Masamune's first wife, there will be an event explaining Masamune's desire to kill Rance with his own hands, no?.

Love the Akashi trick raising his stats. Sadly, you are going to be swimming in strong warriors soon anyway (Rance/Kenshin/Nogiku/Masamune). His low level is a real pity too, as Hibachi works in commander battles.

So THATS why you need him clear to capture Nogiku? :headasplosion:. Such a stupid requirement, I always figured it was just some accidently left over code from an actual event involving Hibachi capturing her that got cut out.

Masamune's a pretty cool bro, actually. Cares more about protecting the Youkai race as a whole rather then personal revenge against Rance, especially since he knows Rance treats his girls well

Unfortunately, as in the case of ordinary capturing here the same rules apply. Sometimes the capture event doesn't take place after you have defeated one of the female guardians - which can be pretty annoying to repeat the battle time and time again.

This was really painful on highest difficulty level when I had to first face Omachi - the best diviner in game -, then annihilate her unit (guarded by footsoldiers), next win the whole battle, and finally :rage: to the heavens at the thought of repeating the whole procedure half a dozen times before seeing her event.
