They've not design docs; they've proposals for a new interface (though they've not mine). For example, who really needs portraits or icons in an RPG. Wouldn't text saying "Party Member 1 Portrait" be more elegant and simple? That would also strip away the graphics whores, leaving only the true RPG connoisseurs behind.

I like this idea but I think it could be taken even further. All game assets could be easily replaced with floating text.
