Re: Jet, I don't understand why they don't just say that "Jet" has somehow become the term used for all inhaled drugs.

They just don't care enough - or at all.

They using Jet as a universal drug from fallout world, same as Super Mutants as Orcs from fallout and Ghouls as Zombies of fallout. For me its a marketing move, nothing more and we all know marketing doesnt need to be logical, if it works. And it worked, it just worked :smug:

This just happened to me, a dialogue with a guard at Bunker Hill.
- Caravan or raider?
- Raider!
- Ok, the market is open... blah blah.
Is this some kind of a neutral place where the wolves and the lambs meet to trade fancy stories and exchange admirations?
"Oh, a nice day to you good sir, wasn't it a marvelous battle when we last attacked you? Your caravan lost two guards and a brahmin to a land mine, we had to gather the loot from all over the place, it took us some time indeed!"
"Mighty dandy encounter it was, sir. We will show you next time, it will be glorious."

It gets worse:

Doomzzg ‏@Doomzzg
@DCDeacon @JohnstonJarrett This is what happens when degenerates get's ahold of a franchise they don't care about

Pete Hines ‏@DCDeacon
@Doomzzg we cared about it enough to take a risk and do something with it when nobody else was.

Kilus ‏@Kilus
@DCDeacon @Doomzzg Except Troika Games bid on Fallout at the same time you guys did so it's not fair to say 'when nobody else was'

Pete Hines ‏@DCDeacon
Kilus @Doomzzg nobody else was making a game. i don't recall who else reached out about the IP. i'm sorry if you don't enjoy what we make

As far as I know Van Buren (real Fallout 3) and Troika's post ap RPG are completely different games. I also heard that Obsidian offered some money for Fallout IP but it was not nearly enough compared to what bethestards offered. Oh almost forgot bethesda burn in hell :flamesaw:

Well there is slight incline here, I fully expected Pete to block the other guy twitter when he called them degenerates.
That can only mean Pete feels ashamed inside but cannot show it publicly.
Also later he says "i'm sorry if you don't enjoy what we make" instead of "i'm sorry if you don't enjoy Fallout" so he understand what they are making it not real Fallout.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Well he has got one thing right - taking a decade old 2D hardcore isometric franchise the nu konsole generation didn't know and/or care about and remodelling it into a weird FPS/RPG hybrid with a bizzare pause-and-shoot system was a business risk, no doubt about that.

But that shit with a ghoul in the fridge (tho no idea what's that about, didn't come across it in my playthrough) is just....wow. Is he really not aware even a fictional world has to have an internal logic? A guy in his position, with a "professional writing career" behind him. Amazing.

Looks like this game finally has found something to really piss off even me.
It's main quest. To finish it, you have to make friends with three main factions, work along with them for some time, build up empathy to them, and then just kill off 2/3 of them. Including children. Is this game marketed for sociopaths?

Someone just discovered Bethesda doesn't give a shit about lore?

Someone should message him to tell him the Pope is Catholic. Also, water is wet... :M

When he says "nobody else was making a game" I think he means that Bethesda had already begun developing their Fallout 3 under license. Remember, before Bethesda bought the Fallout IP they had licensed it from Interplay first. Herve had to sell it outright after he ran into money problems (due to Brian Fargo and a bunch of other people sueing him :M )

Nope. You just have to kill one faction. The right one ;)

I was just going to ask the question "Who do you all think are worse, Bethesda or their apologists/hype sheep?" My vote was going to go towards the latter, since Bethesda just makes the games and we can survive and even sometimes enjoy mediocre or bad games, but the apologists are the ones who enable them with their money and review scores, lower the bar for what is expected of RPGs in the 21st century, promote the idea that Beth's way is the best/only way, dismiss or poorly rebut any criticism, and overall act like mindless, tasteless lemmings.

But after reading that Petey Hines exchange on Twitter, I have to say that Bethesda are the fucking satan.

Pete Hines is a fucking asshole, that's nothing new. He must be the least friendly marketing guy ever.
