I've actually never played it but through the power of promotional giveaways, I'll finally see what it's all about.

This was rather painless and I got the key added to my account almost instantaneously. All you have to do is link you steam profile and sacrifice your email account. Anyway, check it out.

I wanted to like this game because I every now and then read through threads like "games like Dungeon Keeper, or games like Majesty:Fantasy Kingdom Sim" - style wise this game DOES deliver, but the gameplay loop just doesn't feel right.

I think the fact that they made the Yellow and Red alarms mute-able on double click to cope with the infinite siege waves speaks for itself - If the game balanced the "build up" phase of the game or let you buy time with the hotels before turning into Base VS invading army it would be a whole lot better.

Protip: There are a limited number invaders permitted on the island at a time. If you don't actually kill them, and instead just trap them in the flusher and stunlock them forever, the problem is solved. Even the super-agents can be disposed of in this manner.

Also, given that you get paid for this, stunlock cycles pretty much become the dominant income generator, avoiding the need to send your minions out on suicide missions where they will gradually die off and need micromanagement to replace.

Don't forget to abuse the tutorial to build up a starting nest egg! Minions cannot die while generating cash during the tutorial.
